Chapter 32 Harry and Ron Get Caught While Night Strolling
Hermione gave Andy a strange look. Why are you so skilled at this? What have you been through all these years?
Andy reads the letter.
Malfoy has already corresponded with his father, and unsurprisingly, his father has agreed to the plan.
Malfoy had been trying to contact the upperclassmen in Slytherin for the past few days, and they were very interested in the matter. Things had started off very smoothly.
However, the matter quickly spiraled out of Malfoy's control.
In Slytherin House, Malfoy wasn't the only one whose father was a member of the Board of Trustees. Now that they knew about this, they naturally wouldn't bother with a first-year kid like Malfoy anymore.
That's why Malfoy wrote to Andy for help; he wanted to regain control of the situation.
"That's so Slytherin-esque!"
Andy chuckled and shook his head, the letter in his hand turning to ashes and disappearing into the air.
Andy turned his head toward the Slytherin table and met Malfoy's gaze.
Malfoy also seemed much more cautious; he merely nodded slightly in acknowledgment before turning his gaze elsewhere.
"What did he say?" Hermione asked, a little annoyed.
She had already written a complaint letter to Dumbledore, and to Andy's surprise, Dumbledore quickly wrote back to Hermione.
He admitted that he would be changing the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor next year, but the candidate for this year had already been chosen. He couldn't dismiss Quirrell without a valid reason until Quirrell made a mistake.
In Andy's view, Dumbledore's reply was not perfunctory.
(Andy was unaware of the curse.)
But it's hard for Andy to wait another year.
Andy only has seven years to study, and each year is very important to him.
If you miss a year, you don't know how much knowledge you'll lose.
"It's nothing serious, just a power struggle within Slytherin!"
Andy gave Hermione a brief explanation of the letter's contents, and then said, "How about we go to the library to read some books? I need to write a reply to Malfoy."
"Let's go!" Hermione picked up a stack of books and headed towards the library first.
Hogwarts' library was a treasure trove; Andy found many books on magical theory there and learned all sorts of minor spells.
Many minor spells are not commonly used, and some spells may never be used in a lifetime.
But Andy still mastered these obscure spells.
These spells might be useless to others, but for Andy, they can accelerate the enhancement of the red liquid within the system sphere.
When practicing magic at home, it took Andy half a month to accumulate one potential point, but after arriving at Hogwarts—based on his practice over the past few days—Andy discovered that he only needed ten days to accumulate one potential point.
The progress has been greatly accelerated.
Especially in Transfiguration, Andy could feel his improvement even without looking at the system, ever since he took Professor McGonagall's class.
Professor McGonagall explained Transfiguration in great detail, covering many points that were not found in textbooks. This knowledge was of great help to Andy.
That's why Andy is so eager for the school to replace Professor Quirrell as soon as possible.
Finding a quiet corner in the library, Andy picked up a quill and wrote a reply to Malfoy.
In Andy's eyes, the problem Malfoy encountered was no big deal at all. He only needed to subtly point out that the matter involved Dumbledore, and those junior wizards would probably not dare to get involved.
Not everyone has the courage of old Malfoy to directly confront Dumbledore.
After writing his reply, Andy put the letter in the pocket of his wizard's robe, intending to mail it to Malfoy using the school's owl after lunch.
"Have you heard?" Hermione suddenly asked in a low voice after Andy finished writing the letter.
Andy: "?"
What have I heard now?
Hermione said, "Last night, Potter and Weasley from Gryffindor got caught going out for a night stroll. I heard they even broke into the fourth-floor corridor..."
At this point, Hermione suddenly rolled her eyes at Andy, "It's the place where you want to have a terrible accident and die a horrible death."
"Can your memory be a little less good?"
Andy said irritably, then asked curiously, "How were they arrested?"
This scene did indeed occur in the movie; Harry and Ron even saw the three-headed dog in that corridor.
This is also the main reason why Andy dared not go.
While Andy might argue with Dumbledore, he wouldn't dare to actually take action.
After all, Andy didn't want to suffer an accident, much less die a painful death.
"I heard it was Mr. Filch who caught them."
Hermione shook her head, then said meaningfully, "Professor McGonagall was furious and deducted a full sixty points from Gryffindor. So I hope you'd better give up that idea."
"certainly!"
Andy shrugged and said, "I don't want to die a horrible death... Shh! Be quiet, Mrs. Pince has noticed us."
Hermione quickly looked down at her book.
As Andy read, he tried to recall what accident had led to Ron and Harry, those two unlucky guys, being captured.
Uh…
Andy suddenly remembered that in the movie, Hermione used a lock-picking spell to open the room at the end of the fourth-floor corridor.
As for Harry and Ron—they don't know the Unlocking Charm.
That's really brave!
Andy could only say that the two of them were truly worthy of being Gryffindor; they didn't even know much magic, yet they dared to go out for a night stroll.
But then again, without Hermione, Harry and Ron might not have even made it past the Devil's Web.
Fortunately, if Andy's plan succeeds, it might prevent Harry and Ron from being strangled by the Devil's Web.
Uh… without Hermione, Harry and Ron might not even know about the Philosopher's Stone.
Then nothing will ever begin!
Ha ha.
Andy suddenly wanted to see Dumbledore's expression when he learned of this.
The legendary savior doesn't even know the unlocking spell!
It really is "Hermione and Her Two Useless Men"!
Andy glanced at Hermione, and Hermione turned to look at him too.
"What are you looking at?" Hermione was a little embarrassed and annoyed. If this person is reading a book, he should just read it properly. Why is he looking at me for no reason?
"I just feel... uh... what book are you reading?"
Andy picked up the book Hermione was reading and discovered it was a book about flying.
"Give it back to me!" Hermione snapped angrily at her, snatching the book back.
Andy chuckled, recalling Hermione's clumsy performance during yesterday afternoon's flight lesson—she only dared to fly to a height of two meters.
"Don't laugh!" Hermione's face turned bright red.
"If you want to practice your flying skills, I can help you!"
Seeing Hermione all bared and about to pounce, Andy quickly tried to salvage the situation, saying, "I know an older student who's on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. I can borrow his flying broomstick."
