Chapter 261 The Magic of Nature
Chapter 261 The Magic of Nature
"Well……"
Andy understood every single word Professor McGonagall spoke, but when the words were put together, he didn't quite grasp their meaning.
Was the four points of "thinking" wasted?
Well... that's not entirely true.
Professor McGonagall seemed to have explained things clearly, but she glossed over the key points and gave a vague explanation.
Transfiguration is dangerous.
Human body deformities are the most dangerous.
Animagus is a special type of human deformity.
Therefore, we need to draw upon the power of nature.
make sense!
But what is its underlying principle?
"Professor McGonagall, could you be more specific? We harness the power of nature... but what are the underlying principles?" Andy pressed.
"It's a special kind of magic."
Professor McGonagall said, "Magic is not a power unique to wizards. Magical creatures, dark creatures, other humanoid races... they all possess magic."
"Of course, magic also exists in nature."
"To complete the Animagus transformation, we need to use some special magic to help us complete the transformation."
A special kind of magic...?
Does magic exist in nature?
Andy suddenly thought of a word: the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.
Professor McGonagall continued, "As for potions... the purpose of potions is to bring the magic within us into sync with the magic in nature, thereby using the power of nature to complete the Animagus transformation."
Upon hearing this, Andy was about to ask about magical transformation. However, he swallowed the words back.
Professor McGonagall is neither Snape nor Dumbledore.
If Andy dared to ask Professor McGonagall about magical transformations, she would probably lecture him for three or four hours.
"Thank you, Professor McGonagall," Andy said gratefully.
Professor McGonagall stated modestly that she was simply doing what a Transfiguration professor should do.
"In short, you can start preparing now."
Professor McGonagall solemnly said, "The time for the transformation needs to be waited for. In the meantime, you can come and ask me any questions you may have."
"thank you!"
Andy nodded. "If we're lucky, we can complete the Animagus transformation next month."
Professor McGonagall said casually, "Next month is December, and it's already snowing in the Scottish Highlands."
Andy: "..."
If that's the case, doesn't that mean we have to wait until next year to start the first Animagus transformation?
"Uh..." Andy's lips twitched. This was too much trouble!
Professor McGonagall said, "The longer you prepare, the greater your advantage will be. Don't rush, learning magic cannot be rushed."
"Okay! I understand." Andy nodded in response.
"Oh, right!"
Having finally gotten a chance to consult Professor McGonagall, Andy wasn't about to miss such a good opportunity. "Professor McGonagall, you mentioned magic that exists in nature..."
"Can we harness this power?"
Andy never saw this viewpoint in the book.
I don't know if I haven't seen it yet, or if this viewpoint is something Professor McGonagall made up.
Professor McGonagall explained, "The Animagus is an application of the magic of nature."
"We cannot use this power directly, but we can indirectly utilize the magic of nature for our own use through certain rituals."
Andy nodded knowingly, then continued, "Professor, why can Animagus only transform into one type of animal? Instead of being able to transform into multiple animals like in magic schools in Africa?"
Professor McGonagall stated, "The animals that Animagus transform into are related to our personalities and weight. Like the Patronus Charm, each person's Patronus is also influenced by feelings of happiness, thus coalescing into various different animals..."
Andy asked several questions in a row, and seeing that it was getting late, he reluctantly took his leave.
……
Four days later, on the night of the full moon, Andy successfully put a mandrake leaf into his mouth and began preparations for becoming an Animagus.
Andy initially thought it would be simple, but he soon realized how difficult it was.
The mandrake leaves in Andy's mouth caused him great inconvenience when he slept, brushed his teeth, ate, or talked.
Andy had to be very careful each time, afraid that he might accidentally swallow the leaf along with it.
"Andy, what's wrong with you today? Are you feeling unwell?" Hermione quickly noticed Andy's unusual behavior and asked curiously.
"fine."
Andy explained, "I'm doing preparation work before I start learning Animagus."
"Animagus?"
Miss Know-It-All is back online. The little witch gave a detailed explanation of what Animagus is, and then asked, "So... you have a mandrake leaf in your mouth right now?"
"Yes!" Andy nodded.
The thought of having to hold the leaf in his mouth for a month made Andy feel nauseous and want to vomit.
That's incredibly unhygienic.
"By the way, Andy..."
Hermione suddenly looked around, then leaned closer to Andy and said mysteriously, "Have you noticed that Potter and Weasley seem a little off lately?"
Harry and Ron?
If the two of them were to return to normal, that would be a real disaster.
"What's wrong with you?" Andy asked.
I can't explain it either.
Hermione said, troubled, "I've only met them a few times, and I don't really know them. It's just... I ran into Potter and Weasley last night, and they seemed a little off."
"Is that so?" Andy turned his head to look in the direction of the Gryffindor table.
Harry and Ron were there too.
However, Andy did not notice anything unusual.
The two of them remained inseparable, their relationship as close as if they were one person.
"Hermione, could you elaborate?" Andy asked, raising an eyebrow.
Hermione shook her head. "I already said, I don't know much about Potter and Weasley. It just feels a bit off, but I can't quite put my finger on it."
Andy said helplessly, "Okay! I'll find a chance to say a few words to them later."
"I'll go with you," Hermione said.
……
After breakfast, Andy sat in the auditorium for a while longer.
After Harry and Ron finished their breakfast, Andy and Hermione exchanged a glance and got up to walk out of the Great Hall.
"Hi! Harry, Ron."
Andy waved and said, "Good morning!"
"Good morning, Andy!" Harry said warmly.
"Good morning!" Ron greeted him in return.
The four chatted briefly before going their separate ways.
Standing in the corner of the corridor, Hermione looked at Andy and asked, "Andy, how is it? Don't you... feel a little strange?"
