Chapter 221 I Want to Go Home, Hogwarts is Too Dangerous

Hermione's words reminded Andy of a question that had been bothering him for a long time.

How did Rita Skeeter manage to find out so many people's private information?

If she were just making things up, that would be one thing, but her reports actually have some substance. It's just that her habitual tendency to take things out of context makes her reports seem somewhat outrageous.

Take two recent events as examples.

Whether it was Snape's secret rendezvous with Lucius Malfoy or Lockhart's use of the Oblivion Charm to steal other people's adventures, these were their most private secrets.

Not only did Clita Skeeter know, she was also able to find out this information without anyone noticing.

Even Snape didn't realize he was being watched.

(Voiceover: Snape: "Collins...you have no right to say such things!")

"Hermione, how do you think Ms. Skeeter found out Lockhart's secret?" Andy asked.

If Rita Skeeter had simply fabricated a report after receiving Andy's letter, one could say she had a rather peculiar imagination and always managed to guess other people's private matters.

But she came to Hogwarts herself to investigate!

Moreover, she uncovered Lockhart's secrets in less than a night.

Even 007 isn't this awesome, right?

"Well……"

Hermione pondered for a moment, then shook her head and said, "I can't figure it out either. Maybe she has a way to sneak into someone else's office!"

Secretly sneaking into someone else's office?

Andy nodded, "That's a possibility."

But how exactly did she do it?

Illusion Spell?

That's impossible!

Because Andy had already tested it himself, the Disillusionment Charm couldn't fool Snape at all.

Furthermore, Rita Skeeter couldn't possibly use a Disillusionment Charm to knock on Lockhart's door—if she opened the door and saw no one outside, even a fool would know something was wrong.

Andy recalled all the magic he knew.

"Hermione..."

Andy abruptly turned to Hermione. "Do you think Ms. Skeeter might be an illegal Animagus? Only her shapeshifting creatures are incredibly small, maybe only the size of an insect!"

"Why would you think that?" Hermione asked curiously.

Andy shrugged and said, "Besides that, I can't think of any other way to secretly sneak into someone else's room."

Eliminate all the impossibilities, and whatever remains, however incredible, is the truth.

Andy thinks this might be the truth!

"Maybe you're right!"

Hermione said, "What do you want to do? Report her?"

Andy laughed upon hearing this, "Of course not! Besides, I need to confirm it. If Ms. Skeeter really is an illegal Animagus shapeshifter... Hermione, then we won't have to worry about her making up news about us anymore."

Hermione paused for a moment, then raised an eyebrow and said, "Andy, we're not worth reporting on at all."

Andy: "..."

There's no need to be so direct.

"My Patronus Charm paper will be published soon, and I will become the eighth registered Animagus shapeshifter in the British wizarding world."

Andy chuckled and said smugly, "Hermione, I'm going to be famous soon."

"Okay! You're amazing." Hermione felt that the conversation was getting a bit sluggish.

……

Undoubtedly, when the truth about Lockhart was reported by the Daily Prophet, the entire Hogwarts was in an uproar.

The attack on Azkaban was a big deal, but it was too far removed from the lives of young wizards to resonate with them.

Even in discussions, they don't know what to say.

But Lockhart was different; he lived among the young wizards and was their Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

The immersion is off the charts!

"Draco, look at this newspaper! You're in the news!" came an exaggerated voice from Slytherin's side.

Andy turned around at the sound.

Malfoy first looked at the newspaper curiously, then his face turned deathly pale, and he looked extremely flustered.

The contents of the newspaper reminded Malfoy of a less-than-pleasant experience.

The same incompetent professor.

Andy orchestrated everything behind the scenes in both cases.

Similarly, he, Draco Malfoy, the sole heir of the Malfoy family, was always a vanguard charging ahead.

Last year, he was attacked twice by Quirrell.

So what about this year...?

Malfoy was on the verge of tears.

He wanted to go home; he didn't want to go to school anymore. Hogwarts was too dangerous.

Soon, the entire auditorium was filled with a great deal of discussion. Everyone was debating the veracity of the report; some believed it, while others did not.

Ron was one of those who didn't believe it. He said, "If you ask me, Lockhart simply couldn't use the Oblivion Charm. We all know his skill level; he can't even use the simplest spells."

George, holding the newspaper, exclaimed, "That's right! The newspaper says Lockhart's magic is only slightly better than a Squib's; Ron is better with a broken wand."

"Perhaps Lockhart's Oblivion Spell worked quite well?" Angelina guessed.

Fred quickly agreed, "Perhaps the Oblivion Spell is the only magic Lockhart is proficient in."

Harry seized the opportunity to chime in, "I just want to know if we still have to have our Defense Against the Dark Arts class today."

Of course you don't need to go!

Lockhart nearly went crazy when he saw the Daily Prophet this morning.

"This woman!?"

Lockhart's face twisted in pain. "How did she know all this? No! No one should know. That's right... she must be making it all up; that's what she's best at."

Lockhart looked at himself in the mirror.

His face was pale, his eyes held an undisguised fear, his clothes were disheveled, and he had completely lost his usual elegance.

"Listen, this is all made up by that woman. Nobody will believe her."

"You don't need to panic at all!"

Lockhart said to himself in the mirror, "Take a deep breath... Now you need to gracefully walk outside and refute that woman's lies."

"You are a magic master, yes, a magic master!"

As he was talking, Lockhart suddenly started frantically grabbing at his hair.

He's a magic master...that's for sure!

But he couldn't prove it.

Aside from the Oblivion Curse, Lockhart couldn't even cast the simplest spells properly.

"Damn it! How does that woman Rita Skeeter know all this?"

Lockhart paced back and forth in the office.

He had to find a way to turn things around and expose Rita Skeeter's lies as soon as possible.

"I need to get out of here!"

Lockhart suddenly stopped in his tracks; he felt he could no longer stay at Hogwarts.

If he hadn't come to Hogwarts to be that damn Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, he would never have revealed his biggest secret.

"I have to leave here, Hogwarts is too dangerous!"
