Chapter 204 Andy: I Hate Basilisk
Chapter 204 Andy: I Hate Basilisk
Andy was confident enough about this escape room adventure.
As long as he didn't look the basilisk in the eye, Andy believed that a single Fiendfyre spell would be enough to take care of everything.
Whether or not Hermione is included doesn't really affect the overall situation.
All those preparations before the operation were simply to be on the safe side. As Hermione said, the consequences of letting the basilisk escape the Chamber of Secrets would be absolutely terrible.
Andy simply couldn't afford the consequences.
However, since they were 80-90% sure, and Hermione was so eager to go in and take a look, Andy didn't mind taking the little witch on a smooth-sailing adventure.
And incidentally, let the little witch admire his heroic figure.
Flying down the passage to the bottom, Andy controlled Hermione to stand on the ground, then handed her the flying broom, saying, "This is our escape tool."
"You really should experience flying with the Levitation Charm," Hermione said, her face pale.
"Is that so?"
Andy laughed and said, "Isabella thinks the same way you do."
Hermione rolled her eyes at Andy, annoyed. "I never expected you to bully your sister."
"Who told her she didn't have a wand?"
Andy said gloatingly, "Besides, I'm doing this to make Isha study harder. Isha is working really hard now to beat her brother."
"Now I'm kind of looking forward to your duel with Professor Snape. I really hope Professor Snape can teach you a lesson!" Hermione complained.
"Professor Snape won't do, you'd better count on Dumbledore!" Andy admitted that he had been getting a little cocky lately.
While speaking, Andy didn't forget to observe his surroundings.
It must be said that the environment here is terrible.
The ground was covered with a layer of small animal bones, which were mixed with the soil and made a creaking sound when stepped on.
Andy looked around and frowned, saying, "There are so many passages here; they must have been built specifically to allow the basilisk to roam."
Hermione was quick-witted; she immediately understood Andy's meaning. "So... Slytherin built these tunnels so that the Basilisk could enter various parts of the castle and kill those he deemed unworthy to learn magic!"
The little witch's expression was not very good.
This is clearly very different from Ms. Gray's account.
According to Lady Grey, Slytherin was not such an extreme person. Although he disliked students from the Muggle world, he would not be so extreme as to want to kill them.
Slytherin built the Chamber of Secrets so that he could study magic with like-minded people.
"Perhaps...it was the influence of dark magic on him?"
Andy speculated, "Or perhaps it was because Slytherin couldn't bring himself to do it, so he entrusted this task to his descendants, letting them do this cruel thing."
"Of course, it's also possible that the other three leaders were still alive at that time, so Slytherin didn't dare to do that."
There are many reasons, but the passageway here cannot be faked.
These passages lead to various parts of the castle.
Slytherin really wanted to purge those students from the Muggle world!
Perhaps it's related to the witch hunts of that time!
"Andy!"
Hermione suddenly looked at Andy, her face showing some surprise, and said, "Washbasins and sewer systems—these are things that modern Muggles invented. A thousand years ago, we wouldn't have used them."
Andy looked at Hermione in surprise.
The little witch is awesome!
Even this angle is conceivable.
Hermione continued her analysis, "Furthermore, the rumors surrounding the Chamber of Secrets have been around for a long time at Hogwarts. If the Chamber of Secrets had only been opened once, sixty years ago, how could those rumors have survived?"
"I read in 'Hogwarts: A History' that Hogwarts underwent a transformation at the end of the 18th century."
Andy raised an eyebrow and said, "So, these pipes were built later?"
This reason makes perfect sense.
but……
"These things aren't really our concern. Let's go inside and take a look!" Andy said.
"Yes!" Hermione nodded in response.
After walking along the passage for a while, Andy and Hermione arrived at an iron gate.
"It's up to you!" Hermione said, looking at Andy.
"Hmm!" Andy stepped forward.
"Hiss (Open)!"
Kaka-
The mechanisms on the iron gate kept changing, and as the gate opened, the scene inside the secret room came into Andy's view.
At the end of the Chamber of Secrets stood a massive statue of a human head, which must be the Slytherin statue. The statue's mouth was open, and Andy guessed that the Basilisk must be sleeping inside the statue's mouth.
The path leading to the statue is flanked by pools of water, in which several giant snake statues stand tall.
"Looks like Slytherins really like snakes," Andy remarked.
"What should we do now?" Hermione asked.
"Wait here for me, I'll go lure the basilisk out."
Andy pointed to the open space next to the iron gate and said, "Stand here, and whatever you do, don't look inside."
"Once the basilisk appears, I will immediately run out here and unleash a Fiendish Flame spell to burn it to death."
Hermione was a little worried. "You yourself... well! Now that things have come to this... Andy, you need to be careful."
"Don't worry! I'm terrified of dying," Andy laughed.
Upon entering the Chamber of Secrets, Andy stepped forward and examined the Slytherin statue. He had to admit, the statue was truly ugly.
He looked incredibly old, and his mouth was agape in a daze.
"Hiss (come out)!"
Andy didn't know how to awaken the basilisk either, so he could only try to improvise.
The room fell silent for a moment.
Just when Andy thought he had failed, a slight sound suddenly came from the statue's mouth.
rustle--
That was the sound of snakes crawling.
Andy took two steps back, remaining constantly vigilant.
"Hiss!"
"They're out!" Andy thought to himself.
Andy took the stone, which had been transformed from a rooster, out of his pocket, carefully placed it on the ground, and quietly left the secret room.
"Andy!" Hermione looked at Andy with a nervous expression.
"The basilisk has appeared," Andy said.
Hermione was so nervous she almost forgot to breathe.
"Hiss!"
Hearing the noise coming from the secret room, Andy leaned against the wall, reached his wand through the iron door into the secret room, and broke the rooster's shapeshifting spell.
"Ooh ooh ooh ooh!!!"
The sound of a rooster crowing came from the secret room, followed by a rumbling sound.
Andy guessed that the snake monster must be in a lot of pain.
Hermione exclaimed with delight, "Andy, the rooster's crowing worked!"
"This is only temporary!"
Andy calmly said, "Don't forget, that basilisk has lived for a thousand years, and its eyes can kill a rooster."
"We need this!"
As he spoke, Andy extended his wand, and a ball of Fiendfire slowly leaped about ten centimeters in front of it.
"I hate basilisks!"
