Chapter 17 You May Soon Be Beaten to Death

Andy raised his hand in response.

Dumbledore was somewhat surprised, but still smiled and said, "Mr. Collins seems to have some questions."

"Headmaster Dumbledore, if—I mean if I wished for an accident and a terrible death, would that mean I could go in?" Andy teased.

Having gotten used to teasing Isabel at home, Andy felt he should change this habit.

Laughter erupted in the hall, and all the young wizards looked at Andy, seemingly wanting to know who was so bold as to challenge Dumbledore.

Hermione glared at Andy; she had known all along that Andy wasn't a good student.

Professor McGonagall breathed a sigh of relief. She looked at Professor Flitwick with a hint of schadenfreude mixed with a sense of shared misfortune.

She seemed quite excited to see how Professor Flitwick would deal with a mischievous student.

Dumbledore paused for a moment, then glanced at Andy, thinking, "What a perceptive little wizard."

"what!"

Dumbledore said with a smile, "If such an unfortunate event occurs, then I will have no choice but to notify your parents to come to the school to collect your body. I am deeply sorry about that."

Isn't this a threat?

Andy blinked, hoping someone would notice that he was being threatened.

"If there are no further questions, then—before we go to bed, let's sing the school song together!" Dumbledore continued.

Andy noticed that all the professors' faces seemed to freeze for a moment.

School song?

This scene doesn't seem to be in the movie.

Andy had a hint of anticipation in his eyes.

Dumbledore waved his wand gently, and a long golden ribbon floated out from it, coiling like a snake in the air above the Great Hall to form lines of text.

"Everyone chooses their favorite tune..." Dumbledore, like a conductor, announced, "Ready, sing!"

All the teachers and students sang loudly.

At that moment, Andy's only thought was—I didn't bring my camera!

If Andy could capture the moment when all the professors sang the school song, he believed the Daily Prophet would offer an astronomical price for it.

And Andy's second thought was—if I did that, I would definitely be murdered by a group of Hogwarts professors!

Isabel ruined me!

Andy gritted his teeth in resentment. He had gotten so used to teasing this little girl that he now wanted to tease her about everything.

This habit needs to be changed!

After singing the school song, the group of young wizards walked out of the Great Hall, led by their prefects.

"Be careful of those spiral staircases, don't go the wrong way, and don't walk too close to the side."

Prefect Penelope explained, "The ever-changing staircases of Hogwarts were suggested and designed by Rowena Ravenclaw, the founder of the house."

Upon hearing this, Andy exclaimed, "In that case, Ravenclaw must be the most powerful witch among the four founders."

Why do you say that?

Hermione looked at Andy curiously, "I've never seen any record of the strength of the four founders in the book 'Hogwarts: A History of the School'."

The other young wizards, including the two prefects, also looked at Andy with curiosity.

Could it be that Andy knows some inside information that they don't?

"It's not enough to just read books; you have to learn to think critically."

Andy gave Hermione a mock scolding, then, under Hermione's disapproving gaze, explained, "Think about it, Ravenclaw designed the school's staircases like this, yet they weren't killed by the other three founders. Doesn't that prove Ravenclaw is the strongest?"

Hermione's face darkened, and she glared at Andy, saying, "I don't know if Ravenclaw will get killed, but I guess you might get killed very soon!"

Andy gave Hermione a defiant look. Solo, huh?

Hermione was so angry she almost exploded!

Penelope, however, somewhat agreed with Andy's words, "That guess makes some sense. Every year, countless young wizards want to kill the designer of the staircase."

The group walked up the dynamic staircase to the very top of the Ravenclaw Tower.

On the ancient wooden door is a huge bronze ring shaped like an eagle.

Penelope knocked three times lightly, and the door knocker emitted a mysterious voice: "What can you steal without breaking the law?"

"Sneer."

Penelope answered quickly, "Other houses have fixed passwords, but we don't. As long as you can answer the door knocker's question correctly—in fact, there isn't a standard answer to these questions; as long as you can convince it, you can come in..."

After explaining how to enter the dormitory, Penelope led the first-year wizard into the Ravenclaw common room.

It is a large, round room with elegant arched windows in the walls. Since the Ravenclaw lounge is on the top floor of the tower, the windows offer panoramic views.

The lounge was decorated with many blue and bronze silks, and the ceiling was similar to that of the auditorium, adorned with twinkling stars.

The room contained large tables and chairs, rows of bookshelves, and a white marble statue of Ravenclaw standing opposite the door.

Penelope stood in front of the group of young wizards, reciting the history of Ravenclaw and the famous wizards from Ravenclaw as if reciting a memorized text. After that, she let out a huge sigh of relief, turned around, and walked into the girls' dormitory with her companions.

"Well then...see you tomorrow!" Andy waved to Hermione.

"Hmph! You'd better not be late on the first day of school." Hermione snorted and followed a group of little witches into the girls' dormitory.

The dorm rooms have already been assigned.

Andy walked into the dormitory, found the bed with his name on it, and discovered that his suitcase had already been delivered.

"Hello, I'm Andy Collins," Andy introduced himself to his roommates.

"I know you! Oh, I'm Anthony Goldstein."

Anthony said excitedly, "You're really brave! Do you really want to go to that corridor on the fourth floor?"

Do you want to come along?

Andy discovered that, regardless of whether they were in Gryffindor or not, the young wizards always had an extraordinary enthusiasm for adventure.

"Of course I'll go check it out—but only after I'm fully prepared," Andy said.

After all, bragging doesn't violate school rules.

"Hello, I'm Terry Boot!"

"Oh, I'm Michael Corner, hello."

Andy looked at Michael. "I remember you. We were on the same ship."

"Okay, I think we'd better pack our things first, then wash up and go to bed."

Andy was very grateful to Hermione for reminding him not to be late the next day, otherwise he might have been put in detention by a Potions professor on his second day at Hogwarts.

Andy picked up the class schedule from the bedside table.

"We'll have two Potions classes with Hufflepuff tomorrow morning. I have inside information: Professor Snape is very biased towards Slytherin."

Andy felt like he had inadvertently made fun of all the professors at Hogwarts. "But we're not Gryffindor, so Professor Snape usually won't target us too much."
