Chapter 11 What did I, Gryffindor, do to you?

Practice, rehearse thousands of times?

Hermione stared wide-eyed at Andy sitting across from her. Was this little brat just bragging?

However, thinking about the levitation charm Andy had cast earlier, Hermione couldn't help but feel discouraged. The gap between herself and the junior wizards in the magical world was simply too vast.

This won't do. I must work harder and try to memorize all the books in the library.

Hermione secretly cheered herself up.

"Hermione, are you alright?" Andy was somewhat puzzled as he watched the brown-haired girl's expression constantly change.

What's wrong?

Do you want to compete with me?

Andy did feel that his magic level was not quite up to par. After all, this semester's boss, Quirrell, was an adult wizard. Even if he wasn't quite right in the head, his strength was definitely not weak.

Although Andy had no intention of protecting the magic stone or fighting bosses, it was always good to have more strength to protect himself.

"It's nothing."

Hermione shook her head, then asked curiously, "By the way, have you always lived in the wizarding world?"

"yes!"

Andy explained, "My family lives in St. Catchpol, a village where wizards and Muggles live together."

Andy gave a brief overview of the village's layout, then asked, "And you?"

"My parents are both dentists, and we live in the suburbs of London. Oh, you know where London is, right?" Hermione said very quickly.

"Know!"

Andy nodded. "A few years ago, my family went to London for a trip, and the Ministry of Magic is also in London."

Hermione quickly replied, "I know about the Ministry of Magic; I've read about it in books. The Ministry of Magic was founded in 1707, its predecessor being the Wizarding Council. The Ministry of Magic participated in and drafted the International Confederation of Wizards' Statute of Secrecy, which is still in effect today."

Ok!

Andy believed that the brown-haired girl in front of him had indeed memorized a lot of books, and she seemed eager to prove herself. She spoke very quickly every time, and her first words were always "I saw it in a book," followed by quick and accurate answers to questions.

After a brief chat with Hermione about the differences between the wizarding world and the Muggle world, and with the train about to depart, Hermione took a book out of her backpack. "I'm going to read now, what about you?"

"I want to take a nap. I got up too early this morning," Andy said lazily.

Hermione placed the book on the small table, her little face serious as she looked at Andy. "I advise you to memorize all your textbooks again. When we get to Hogwarts, we'll have the Sorting Ceremony."

"Perhaps they'll test our spellcasting skills, or give us a written test," Hermione guessed.

"Oh, right!"

Hermione continued, "Do you know how Hogwarts sorts houses?"

Of course, the Sorting Hat has the final say.

But I can't say that.

"have no idea!"

Andy shook his head. "But don't worry, no one has ever died during the Hogwarts Sorting Ceremony. And external injuries like fractures or dismemberment can be healed quickly with magic."

"It can be cured in one night."

Hermione: "..."

Hermione looked down at her book, but found she couldn't concentrate anymore.

Is the Sorting Ceremony really that dangerous?

Hermione was somewhat skeptical and worried, and glared at her, saying, "Haven't your family ever told you how Hogwarts sorts houses?"

"No, this is an annual tradition."

Andy leaned against the wall of the carriage, smiling as he said, "But don't worry too much, someone your level would be considered an excellent student at Hogwarts."

Andy couldn't help but think of Ron.

That's a real academic failure.

Before school started, Andy and Ron had met a few times, but this guy didn't even open his textbooks once, let alone practice magic.

Hermione glared at Andy; she didn't believe him at all.

She had spotted Andy at the platform before and had also seen the levitation spell Andy used.

She came along because she wanted to learn more about the magical world.

However, based on the information we have so far, it seems that any child in the magical world is far more talented than her.

Practice each spell thousands of times!

Oh my god, I really need to work harder.

With that in mind, Hermione opened the book and forced herself to read its contents.

Whoosh!

Just before the train was about to depart, the carriage door was opened again.

"H-hello, may I sit down? There are no other seats available," the round-faced boy stammered.

"Of course!" Hermione glanced up at the round-faced boy, then looked down and continued reading.

The round-faced boy glanced at Andy, who was resting with his eyes closed, hesitated for a moment, and then sat down next to Andy.

Andy opened his eyes and nodded as a greeting.

"Why did you get on the bus so late?" Andy asked curiously.

Andy saw the round-faced boy as soon as he arrived at the platform, and the two even exchanged a glance from a distance.

Andy remembered it because the round-faced boy kept a toad as a pet.

That's incredibly powerful!

Doesn't he find it disgusting?

"I... I don't have a very good memory. My grandma said a lot to me..."

At this point, the round-faced boy was completely stunned. "Oh no, I've completely forgotten what my grandma told me!"

Andy: "..."

Hermione: "..."

"My name is Hermione, Hermione Granger, and what's yours?" Hermione greeted first.

"Neville, Neville Longbottom!" Neville jolted awake, his voice unusually tense.

Has he been driven crazy by being locked up by his family?

Andy said, "My name is Andy Collins, you can call me Andy."

"Hello, Andy," Neville said quickly.

After the three greeted each other, Hermione continued reading, and Andy also closed his eyes for a nap. Only Neville seemed particularly awkward; he seemed to want to say something but didn't know how to start.

Waaaaah—

The train slowly started moving, and Andy opened his eyes to look at the scenery rushing past the window.

Hogwarts, here I come.

Seeing Andy open his eyes, Neville reacted as if he were a drowning person suddenly saved, shouting, "Andy, which college do you want to go to?"

There was a moment of silence in the carriage, and Neville's face turned bright red.

One sentence seemed to have exhausted his courage.

"Ravenclaw! Or Hufflepuff and Slytherin are fine too, anything but Gryffindor." Andy said lazily, his tone casual.

Hermione glared at him upon hearing this, and Neville also seemed somewhat displeased.

What did I, a Gryffindor, do to you?

Getting into Gryffindor was Neville's dream.

His parents were both Gryffindor graduates, and his grandmother even told him that if he didn't get into Gryffindor, he shouldn't come home.

Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are one thing, but you actually dared to rank Slytherin ahead of Gryffindor.

Where is my sword?
