My Pokémon Story of Seasons

Chapter 25 Pokémon Hut

Tong Hua, focused on the work at hand, was unaware of the communication between the Pokémon. In the blink of an eye, the second log was also evenly processed into planks.

"That should be about right..."

It was already past 3 p.m. Tong Hua counted the stack of wooden planks next to him and felt that it was time to repair the Pokémon House.

"Heave-ho!"

Tong Hua picked up a stack of wooden planks and walked straight towards the grassland.

Seeing Tong Hua set off, the Pokémon quietly followed behind.

On the grassland, the well-fed milk jugs were leisurely rolling around.

"Miru?"

Seeing everyone walking towards him, the big milk tank quickly rolled to Tong Hua's feet.

She tilted her head back curiously and gently sniffed the wooden board in Tong Hua's arms with her wet nose.

"Be careful, these are for repairing the house." Tong Hua smiled and gently nudged the round body of the big milk tank with her knee.

The large milk jug made a satisfied "Miloo~" sound from its mouth and rolled away.

Tong Hua walked to the row of old Pokémon houses and gently placed the wooden plank on the ground.

From the outside, these old-fashioned Pokémon houses are not much different from the ordinary chicken coops and cowsheds next to them.

It also occupies a 3x4 meter area and has an interior height of 2.5 meters. The biggest difference between it and ordinary animal pens...

"A luxurious studio apartment, not bad."

If it weren't for limited energy and an urgent need for assistance, Tong Hua would have genuinely wanted to dismantle these huts first and rebuild them directly from the recycled planks according to Xiang Shi's design.

But for now, let's just make do.

"I've decided on you. This one looks the best." Tong Hua murmured to herself, gently tapping the pillar of the small house on the far side with her finger, producing a dull sound.

Miltank had rolled back sometime earlier and lined up behind Tong Hua with the other Pokémon, watching him work with curiosity.

Tong Hua picked up a tool and deftly removed a broken wooden board.

Wood shavings danced in the sunlight, emitting a faint pine scent.

Suddenly, Tong Hua felt something touch his back.

Looking back, I saw Big Milk Pot carrying a plank on its hooves, blinking its round eyes.

"Thank you." Tong Hua smiled and accepted the plank, finding that the size was just right.

He then noticed that the other Pokémon had also begun to spontaneously divide the work and cooperate.

The grass turtles and Celebi were selecting planks, the foam squirrels were sweeping away the debris on the ground with their tails, and even the usually inconspicuous Sweet Bamboo was hopping and skipping over a plank on its head.

Tong Hua looked at the scene before her and the corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up.

"Everyone has been a great help," he said softly, his voice filled with undisguised warmth.

Sweet Bamboo skipped and handed the wooden board to him. When Tong Hua took it, he casually rubbed its little head, which made it happily spin around.

Tong Hua nailed the new wooden planks together, one hammer blow at a time, and the old, dilapidated little house was gradually transformed with these new patches.

Tong Hua carefully examined the walls of the cabin, her fingers tracing the cracks in the old wooden planks eroded by wind and rain.

He selected the most severely damaged sections and carefully removed them with a crowbar. The wood groaned softly, and splinters fell, raising golden dust in the sunlight.

"Next, we need to reach higher up..."

He looked around and his gaze fell on the wooden ladder leaning against the barn, the rungs of which were still covered with bits of dry grass.

Tong Hua and the grass turtle worked together to carry the wooden ladder over.

After the ladder was set up, the foam squirrel suddenly darted up, its fluffy tail curled with several nails.

"Thanks." Tong Hua took the nail and bit it between her lips, the rusty taste spreading on her tongue.

He climbed to the middle of the ladder, braced his knees against the rungs for balance, and began replacing the rotten planks under the eaves.

The shrines also floated in the air to help pass tools. They watched Tong Hua perform the dangerous operation with nervousness, while secretly using their telekinesis to help everyone stabilize the ladder.

The most critical issue is the repair of the roof.

Because there was nowhere to stand, Tong Hua had to stand on the top of the ladder, her thigh muscles trembling slightly from the tension.

He grabbed the eaves with one hand and swung a hammer with the other, nailing the cut planks diagonally into the roof.

The afternoon sun made the hammer scorching hot, and beads of sweat dripped down his chin onto the wooden board, where they were immediately absorbed by the wood.

When the last new wooden plank fit perfectly into place, Tong Hua breathed a sigh of relief.

He stepped down the ladder, backed a few steps, and admired the results with the Pokémon.

The once mottled wall is now covered with wood grain of varying shades, like a carefully sewn patched blanket.

The sloping roof, covered with brand-new wooden shingles, gleamed golden in the sunlight.

Inside, the house is covered with warm and cozy hay. The absence of glass windows gives the cottage a rustic charm, with only the half-open lattice gate swaying gently in the breeze, revealing the rough mortise and tenon structure on the inside.

"Completed!"

Tong Hua couldn't wait to enter the cabin. As soon as he pushed open the gate, a strange feeling suddenly enveloped him.

The surrounding walls were actually moving away from me!

It felt as if I had shrunk; the wall, which I could reach in just a few steps, seemed to be getting further and further away from me.

"Is this the effect of optical illusion? It's even more intuitive than in Milk Tank Farm!"

Meanwhile, from the perspective of the Pokémon watching outside the door, all they saw was Tong Hua repeatedly raising his leg and pacing in place inside the house. It was as if he were possessed, just pacing without moving forward.

"Miru?"

Just as the Pokémon were wondering what was going on, the curious Miltank pushed open the gate and squeezed into the small house to take a look...

One more person has joined the ranks of those spinning in place.

No, saying it's spinning in place isn't quite right; the big milk tank should be rolling in place.

Hmm, it looks even weirder now...

A few minutes later, Tong Hua came out of the house.

"This is absolutely amazing! Do you want to go in and experience it too?"

Tong Hua looked at the row of Pokémon with strange expressions standing outside the door, and then turned to look inside the house at their prompting.

"Well……"

Watching the giant milk tank rolling around in place as if possessed, Tong Hua couldn't help but feel ashamed.

It turns out that this looks so strange from an outsider's perspective, even though it seemed perfectly normal when I was inside the house just now.

"You'll understand once you go in and try it."

"Huh?"

On Tong Hua's enthusiastic recommendation, the always innocent Tian Zhuzhu was the first to go in.

Following that, Turtwig, Foam Squirrel, and two Celebi also entered the Pokémon House one after another.

Sweet Bamboo skipped and hopped across the threshold, then suddenly stopped. Its little head tilted to one side, its two beady eyes filled with confusion.

"Huh?" It tentatively took a step forward, only to find that it seemed to be further away from the opposite wall.

The grass turtle cautiously stretched out its vine whip, but no matter how long it extended it, it could not touch the wall.

The foam squirrel was the same; it nimbly darted to the corner of the room, only to find that no matter how it ran, the four corners remained the same distance apart.

Two Celebi floated in the air, observing curiously. They tried to move in different directions, but found that no matter which way they flew, the distance to the wall remained the same.

"Miluk~" Miltank finally stopped rolling. She blinked her big eyes and watched as the other Pokémon were experiencing the same wonderful thing.

Tong Hua stood outside the door, watching this scene with amusement.

The Pokémon on the ground were so close together that they were almost touching, but from their own perspectives, they seemed to be far away from the others.

This sophisticated optical illusion works like hypnosis, convincing them that the Pokémon House is bigger inside than outside!

If you stay there for too long, you might even feel a sense of loneliness.

For a big, cuddly person who enjoys solitude and loves to roll around everywhere, this is definitely the best place to live.
