Chapter 979 Battle Situation in Various Regions
Back in Asgard, Peter was surrounded by Magneto, Deadpool, and his Deadpool army of five—no, three, a dog, and a head.
"I really don't understand how this head survived. Logically speaking, it was first thrown into the mouth of Maximus, who was transformed into Black Bolt, and then the latter had his head blown off by Ultimate Thor's hammer, and then chopped into a charred mess by Slavic Thor."
Peter stared at the pet carrier Deadpool was carrying, inside which was a dead man's head wearing an Elizabethan collar: "And he doesn't even have a neck. How did he even get the Elizabethan collar on?"
Do you really want to know?
Deadpool walked over excitedly, put his arm around Peter's shoulder, and then tried to whisper something in Peter's ear. Peter quickly pulled away: "Is it some kind of secret that can't be told?"
"No, it's nothing, it's just—a secret."
"Secret my ass!" the dead man's head, locked in his pet carrier, grumbled. "Those three bastards used a stapler to nail that damn thing to my face!"
For reasons unknown, everyone who heard those words turned around and glanced at the dead man's head. When they saw the rotting lower half of his face, already enhanced by Deadpool's rotten appearance, under the tattered mask, and thought of the staples and the Elizabethan Circle, they all felt a chill run down their spines.
Now it was Dead Head's turn to panic: "What the hell do you mean? You can't discriminate against me! This is minority discrimination! I'm warning you, I'm about to include zombies in the categories of American sexual minorities and aesthetic minorities, and when that happens, I'll launch a massive protest and debate, and none of you will escape!"
Deadpool felt sorry for him and cut off one of his fingers, stuffing it into his mouth. Everyone returned to Asgard with the help of Ultimate Thor. As for Thor in the EMH universe, he should return on his own; it's just a matter of teleporting with a single hammer blow.
Peter and his companions took Magneto back to Asgard, while a large number of heroes remained in St. Petersburg. After all, the city had a large population, and Maximus, Perron, and Apocalypse had caused a great deal of damage. So the heroes stayed behind to help Professor Xavier, or rather, his teacher, stabilize the situation in St. Petersburg.
In return, the heroes who gathered in Asgard gained an ally, or at least a safe area.
"You've been there for two or three days in a row. I hope everything goes well."
Half-Strange arrived, nodded with satisfaction after seeing that everyone was safe and sound, and didn't seem to care much about Magneto. After all, with so many people in the multiverse, what did it matter if there was a good person like Magneto?
Of course, whether Magneto from Universe 616 is a good guy or not is still quite controversial.
But that wasn't Peter's concern right now. He first told everyone to rest, then turned to Strange and asked about the matter Strange had assigned him: "Any news lately? Have there been any changes in other parts of the fighting world?"
"Well, it's hard to say what good news there is. A group of superheroes got involved in the civil war in the war zone, or rather, they caused a huge ruckus and then ran off with the Beyonder Beacon."
Peter found Strange's words a bit strange, then realized what he meant: "You mean this team is outstanding? Very good?"
Yes, that's right.
"Okay, is there anything else?"
"The rest—the Iron Man from the other worlds helped us build some detection robots. However, the signal in the Battle Realm is very unstable, and we have no way to guarantee the stability of signal collection. So, we only have some—very bad news. First, you need to see this."
As Strange spoke, he cast a spell and displayed an image. Peter then saw Morren and a group of people who looked very much like Morren. Without a doubt, this was the Heirs.
The one fighting them in the video was a Spider-Man variant, more precisely, the Spider-Galactic Devourer, who was battling his Galactus messenger against the Successors. But whether it was because he was too weak, due to racial advantage, or some other circumstance, he and his minions were actually beaten to a pulp by the Successors and then drained dry.
Peter could even clearly sense the cosmic energy emanating from the Successors. He sighed helplessly, then looked at Strange: "I know about the Successors, but they pose no threat to me. The symbiote can protect me from their abilities."
"Ah, is that so?"
Strange nodded, then used magic to project a map of the Battle Realm and showed it to Peter: "But the people here may not be as lucky as you."
Peter glanced at the map, then frowned. The area was called Spider Island 2099. Hmm—he knew Spider Island; it was a major Marvel event where the Spider Queen used her web of fate to turn everyone in Manhattan into spider totems.
2099 also knew that Miguel was in the future timeline, but the combination of the two was a bit strange, not to mention that every fragment of the Battle Realm came from a destroyed Earth.
"I understand what you mean. The heirs may not be a problem for me, but they might be for others in this area. They are the natural prey of the heirs."
At this point, Peter realized what he needed to do next: "I have to go to this place."
"The others need rest—"
"So I'll go alone," Peter decisively declared. "The others can rest, and they'll also be affected by the successor's abilities. I can only protect myself."
Strange glanced at Peter, but in the end didn't say anything more, just nodded. Before Peter was about to leave, he stopped him and showed him the new screen.
These are: Kang, the conqueror from an unknown place, arrives in the wasteland and starts a war with Wasteland Doom, intending to kill him; and in the Dead Lands where zombies live, another Captain America, Galactus, is devoured by the zombies. It's truly unimaginable that a different Captain America could eat Galactus.
"Okay, these—"
"Grandpa and I are going to the wasteland. We'll take care of the Beyonder Beacon there and deal with Kang the Conqueror while we're at it."
Iron Boy stood up with Twilight Wolf as he spoke, which surprised Peter. Then Punisher also came out and looked at the zombie heroes who had just eaten Captain America's version of Galactus: "Leave that place to me. To me, there is no difference between man-eating monsters and man-eating undead."
"But----"
The wolf interrupted Peter.
"We're pressed for time, and you have to trust your judgment in choosing teammates, man."
