Chapter 951 Shot Eight Times in the Back, Announces Suicide

Rasputin's plan was quite simple and brutal: using his authority to freely enter and leave the palace, he would bring the Terrigen Crystal into the palace, open it, and poison the Scarlet Witch before she could discover it, and everything would be accomplished.

Peter was extremely nervous after hearing about these plans. Leaving aside whether he and the professor would agree to them...

This plan seems incredibly unreliable; it has too many flaws!

"You're saying you can come and go from Magneto's palace at will? Are you kidding me?" The archangel looked at Rasputin with a serious expression. "While Magneto is a rather arrogant and short-sighted fellow, he's not so foolish as to let a stinking vagrant like you come and go from the palace so easily."

"Hmm, why is it impossible?"

After finally finishing that damn steak, Rasputin began licking his fingers: "His poor daughter is in distress and despair, and I, a poor priest, a pastor, am able to bring her spiritual comfort. He trusts me and even considers me a friend and family member."

"A man who planned to poison his own daughter."

Peter couldn't help but retort, "What are you doing all this for? I mean—it's just absurd, you have absolutely no reason to do any of this, do you?"

"Is that so? I can assure you, there's no reason why you did anything."

Rasputin spoke as if the people who had come here were not laborers, but rather the rebels themselves: "Maximus, everyone else says you are a mad king, that you talk nonsense, but your eyes are clearer than anyone else's—to put it another way, your madness is just to lower people's guard."

At this point, Rasputin let out a burp and looked at Deadpool again: "Stryker, a pathetic man. Your wife gave birth in your car, you delivered the baby, and it turned out to be a deformed mutant. So you killed him, your child, and then, when your wife asked how the baby was, you killed your wife."

"But what's even more interesting is that you calmly threw your wife and children into the garage and burned them, and after faking it all as a traffic accident, you believed that the reason you did all this was because God showed you the truth—that mutants are proof and means of the devil's corruption of humanity, that mutants are the devil, and that's why you would never oppose Magneto. You are essentially waging a holy war that no one understands."

"Apocalypse, a foolish, brutal, and powerless tyrant. Your greatest desire is to live in a luxurious palace and enslave everyone. You proclaim yourself the supreme god, but this is only because you are the most powerful. When you are no longer the most powerful, you begin to rebel, completely disregarding your own rules. Pathetic clown."

"And then there's Charles Xavier, the naive man who thinks mutants and humans aren't the real enemies, but the rulers. You believe that whether mutant or human, they'll exploit the lower classes the same way, as long as they're in that position. But you forget that inciting hatred is far easier than telling everyone the truth."

As Rasputin spoke, he licked his fingers, calmly pointing out everyone's problems as if he were an all-knowing prophet.

Peter seemed to have thought of something, and looked at the other person sharply: "Is your full name Grigory Yefimovich Rasputin?"

"Or are you just impersonating Grigory Yefimovich Rasputin?"

Grigory Yefimovich Rasputin, a notorious eccentric monk in Russian history, at least in the timeline of Earth 616...

This is how it actually happened in history. This charlatan, whose specialties were spreading prophecies and performing miraculous medical feats, gained the Tsar's favor through a series of coincidences and the Russian Empress's fondness for mysticism.

The old Slavic man in front of him was undoubtedly just like that so-called Russian sorcerer, which made Peter begin to wonder if Russia in this timeline was actually in that era.

Rasputin laughed, wiping his hands on his clothes to remove the grease: "There has never been a Grigory Yefimovich Rasputin, my friend, before me."

Peter frowned, while the others exchanged glances. Apart from Deadpool, who remained as indifferent as ever, everyone else looked serious. However, Deadpool was rather strange, as he didn't say a word.

"But what do you get out of it? I don't see it at all." Peter realized that Rasputin hadn't answered any of his questions: "If someone does something that has nothing to do with themselves, and you even—what's your reason? A sudden pang of conscience, a feeling that you should do good?"

"This is----"

Rasputin himself seemed to realize that this explanation was not convincing, so he smiled and said, "This is divine revelation. I have received divine revelation. I need to be your guide. I need to be your friend."

If everything Rasputin said before was nonsense, a kind of deliberate mystification of the unknown, then what Rasputin is saying now is a complete lie, Peter's spider sense is very certain of this.

He must have his own purpose, just as he is by no means as insane as he portrays himself.

Conversely, the mad king Maximus on the other side was the real lunatic. After listening to Rasputin's words, he stood up abruptly and loudly proclaimed his outrageous statement: "This man is utterly untrustworthy! He is a demon sent by the shameless lizardmen, a demon of the Abrahamic monotheistic religion! He intends to defile the sacred traditions of our noble Slavic Aryans with his evil faith!"

Peter was bewildered once again. He had no idea what the Mad King was talking about, or what this Slavic Aryan was. But Maximus stood up and burst into laughter: "And you mutants! You'll all die! Tetanus!"

At this command, an enormous dog appeared on the field. Maximus then raised a crystal and was about to smash it to the ground when Mr. Rasputin looked up, and a crimson beam of light burst from his eyes, striking Maximus and shattering him along with the wall behind him.

"Mr. Maximus committed suicide because he was so engrossed in his own fantasies."

Rasputin said this, then looked at the others and asked, "Is everything alright?"

This was, of course, a lie, but Peter had no way of knowing whether Maximus was dead or not.
