Chapter 504 Additive and Subtractive Color Mixing

Chapter 504 Additive and Subtractive Color Mixing

Joey was incredibly fast, and the impact of his bio-field and his own body rendered the guards who had tried to intercept him in vain.

Like a flying Kryptonian heavy truck, after passing the female adjutant Fiora, the hulking Nam Iker, and two other unnamed Kryptonian officers, Jor-El's face was now just a hair's breadth away from Joey's fist.

"Spark is pregnant!"

Upon hearing this, Joey's fist paused for a split second: "Impossible!"

He had already seen through Xinghuo thoroughly because of the real and fake Xinghuo incident, and he couldn't see any signs of pregnancy.

But the next second, Joey gritted his teeth and elbowed Fiora, who had come to his rescue, flying away. He then threw a punch, saying, "Forget about this and that, let's talk about my super strength first!"

The slight hesitation in the punch gave old man Joe Al a little time to react, but it was of no use. The Kryptonian old man was sent flying by the punch, his nose bleeding profusely.

Joe Al, who was sent flying backward, was caught by his guards. He wiped the blood from his nose, probably because he really didn't expect the punch to be so heavy.

Kal Elnar's biofield, which is quite different from that of ordinary Kryptonians, makes him extremely adept at beating up Kryptonians.

Moreover, even the most powerful superweapon in Krypton's history is currently ineffective against a single target like him.

At least Joey won't have to fight those awful battles like he did with Kara or Superman, where two super-powerful monsters with health bars that exceed the screen just chip away at each other's health.

Just like the first time, after taking a solid punch, Joe Al once again convinced himself that it was just a rebellious phase, and everyone goes through a rebellious phase, right?

"You didn't notice? That's only because you don't understand the physiology of the Tamaran people!"

He was even willing to go on to explain to his son that after all, Karl El was just dating two Tamarans, while he, Jor El, had actually done research on the Tamarans and restored Blackfire's Tamaran superpowers.

Could anyone understand his son better than he does?

"It's like you don't understand what's happening right now!"

Joe Al had already seen the seven-colored light expanding outwards from the green light below.

Red represents anger, orange represents greed, yellow represents fear, green represents will, blue represents hope, cyan represents compassion, and purple represents love.

Guided by the swamp monster and the starlight, the seven colors of light merged into one, forming a pure white light.

Guided by this white light, the spirit of existence is about to break through the earth.

This is precisely what Jor El wanted: the Spirit of Being would not manifest. So how could Jor El glean a glimpse of the true meaning of the opposite from the entity of the Spirit of Being?

For Joey, this was almost a direct reflection of the failure of his attempt to build the Spider-Green Lantern Army:

When the Green Lanterns disbanded due to the multiverse collision, Joey foresaw that the return of these Spider-Men with Green Lantern rings to their respective universes would have a very negative impact on the Energizer.

Using the Lamp Ring to participate in the fight against the crisis between two universes that must be fought to the death, regardless of the outcome, all kinds of extreme emotions in between will be fed back through the connection between the Lamp Ring and the Lamp Furnace.

The fact that the furnace now contains colors from the spectrum of emotions can only prove that the Spider-Lanterns who possess the rings have not had a pleasant experience.

This is not the outcome Joey wanted.

But in any case, this lamp ultimately became the last glimmer of life between the two universes.

Only with the white light it gathers can the spirits that were damaged in ancient times regain some of their power and escape from Earth.

A pure white baby slowly rose from the crack beneath the earth. This was not the complete form of the spirit of white light; the wounds it suffered in the past forced it to appear in this form.

The emergence of the white light made everyone, including Joey, very nervous.

"Don't come any closer, or else I—"

Joey pointed menacingly in Joe Al's direction, and this time, he spoke with utmost seriousness: "I'll kill you!"

Joey never knew how to treat this unfamiliar father, and the other man had always been lenient with Joey, not treating him purely as a "traitor."

But since things have come to this point, and these Kryptonians have committed so many atrocities, if they continue to get in his way, Joey has no choice but to do this.

As an organized military empire, Krypton's military command system would not collapse because of Jor-El's death, but Joey was certain that Jor-El would not take his own life lightly.

"I've already told you, son, I'm not here to stop you."

Even though he was being threatened with death by his unfilial son, Joe Al no longer took it to heart.

He stared at the light screen at his feet that refracted into the shape of an infant, completely mesmerized.

Much later, when Starfire, handpicked by the white light, began to establish a connection with the Spirit of Existence using the lamp ring and shift its target, Jor El finally came to his senses.

"Son, shouldn't Earthlings have taught you some basic science? For example—"

Then he asked Karl El a question: "In Earth's language and terminology, what would it be again—oh right—additive color mixing and subtractive color mixing?"

"Additive color mixing versus subtractive color mixing?"

Joey didn't know what this newly emerged term meant for a moment, but fortunately he could use his super senses to find out that the so-called additive color mixing was actually the superposition of different colored light-emitting bodies; while subtractive color mixing was the superposition of different light-absorbing bodies.

To give a more intuitive example, it's like how seven colors of light are mixed together and merged into a white light; this is additive color mixing.

If you mix seven different colors of pigment together, you won't get a white patch, but a pure black patch. This is called "subtractive mixing".

The fundamental reason is that light beams themselves emit light, radiating color outwards; while pigments themselves do not emit light, they simply absorb the vast majority of colored light and selectively reflect one of them.

"Son, just like the classical understanding of all races, including Earthlings, Martians, and even us Kryptonians, all philosophical concepts, even myths and legends, have both positive and negative aspects."

Joe Al spoke in a language Joey couldn't understand: "In mythology, the sun god Rao brought light and hope with every gesture, while his adversary, the dark goddess Stonena, fought against Rao, bringing darkness and cold."

But he understood the last sentence: "You have now mixed the seven colors of light to create white light, so what you will face next is a pure black shadow beneath the white light."

The black shadow —
