Douluo Continent: Dragon's Journey Across the World

Chapter 81 The Enhancement of the Elemental Academy

This time, Yang Ping'an gained a very good soul skill after absorbing the fourth soul ring, called Tear Crocodile Claw.

When using the fourth soul skill, both hands can transform into crocodile claws, which can deal double damage to enemies, increase attack power by 100%, increase strength by 100%, and increase attack speed by 50%. This attack can directly break through the opponent's defense.

Yang Ping'an tested the effect of breaking defenses slightly. Soul masters of the same level had no way to resist his soul skill, but the greater the difference in soul power level between the opponent and himself, the lower the effect.

Yang Ping'an himself was very satisfied with this soul skill. It seemed to be an offensive soul skill, but it was also an amplifying soul skill. It was even better than a typical ten-thousand-year soul skill, making it a top-quality skill. In terms of pure attack, it was even stronger than his third soul skill.

However, Yang Ping'an himself still felt a bit regretful. So far, he did not have a single area-of-effect soul skill. The Purple-Gold Ray could only be transformed into a mutated ray of light cutting, which could barely be used as an area-of-effect soul skill and could not achieve a wide range of coverage.

After leaving the Star Dou Great Forest, Yang Ping'an rented a carriage and headed towards Tian Dou City, since he had originally planned to meet up with the team in Tian Dou City as Meng Chuan had suggested.

As Long Gong Meng Shu watched Yang Ping'an leave towards Tian Dou City, he felt conflicted.

This time, when Long Gong accompanied Yang Ping'an to hunt for spirit rings, the whole process was full of surprises. It was unexpected that Yang Ping'an, a mere quasi-Soul Master, would dare to attack such a powerful spirit beast. Moreover, he was very lucky and actually encountered the extremely rare Golden Crocodile King, and even managed to absorb a nine-thousand-year-old spirit ring. It was simply unbelievable.

Especially considering the combat prowess Yang Ping'an displayed, probably no one in the Soul Sect can rival him. He can even fight against Soul Kings with his powerful soul skills and physical attributes, making him an absolute combat genius.

However, Long Gong still planned to go to Barak City alone to check on his family. Yang Ping'an had basically shown most of his strength this time, so there was no need to observe him secretly anymore. Besides, his granddaughter and the others were going to Tiandou City soon, so they could meet up then.

The strength of the Beast Academy this time is unprecedented. On the one hand, it is an unprecedented glory for the Beast Academy, but on the other hand, it may also bring various crises. It is best to go to the team to keep watch and prevent some villains from having any ulterior motives.

It took the carriage eight days to reach Tiandou City.

During the Soul Master Competition, the entire Tian Tou City became even more prosperous, after all, it is the most central region of the entire Tian Dou Empire.

Yang Ping'an went straight to the Soul Master Competition arena, mainly to find out what the current situation was, so he could take action next.

When Yang Ping'an bought a ticket and entered the Soul Master Competition venue, the place was packed with people, and the overall ranking of the Soul Master Competition was roughly as he expected.

The preliminary rounds of the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament are now about one-third complete, and the win rates of the top players are not too different.

The only team that remains undefeated is Shenfeng Academy, followed by Tianshui Academy, Chihuo Academy, Leiting Academy, Shrek Academy, and Xiangjia Academy.

This ranking is about what I expected, but it's a bit strange that Shrek Academy was able to replace Elephant Armor Academy and rank fifth. Logically speaking, without the immortal herb, it shouldn't have been so easy for the Shrek Academy students to rank in the top five, or at least not so easy for them to defeat Elephant Armor Academy.

For the next few days, Yang Ping'an planned to spend most of his time watching matches at the Soul Arena during the day, and return to his hotel at night to rest, reflect on the day's events, and make some plans.

It has to be said that Shenfeng Academy performed very well. Since his conversation with me last time, Feng Xiaotian, that sycophant, seems to have had a change of heart. Although he still seems to be clinging to Huo Wu, his strength has indeed improved a lot compared to the original story.

In the original story, Feng Xiaotian's soul power was only level 44, but he was already 24 years old, which was a disgrace to those with innate full soul power. You should know that the golden generation of the Spirit Empire were younger than Feng Xiaotian, but they had already reached the Soul King realm. Not to mention that all the members of the Spirit Hall team were at least level 45 or above.

Now Feng Xiaotian has actually reached level 47. It seems that he has been training quite diligently this year, and at least his soul power has improved quite well.

Feng Xiaotian's soul power level is unique in the entire Tiandou region, after all, apart from him, there is no other soul master above level 45.

Moreover, in the original work, the entire Shenfeng Academy seemed to have only two Soul Masters (the original work did not explicitly state this), but now it has a total of four Soul Masters, no wonder it can be said to be far ahead in the entire Tiandou region.

The other two academies, Blazing Fire Academy and Skywater Academy, also seem quite good. Both academies have at least three Soul Masters. I wonder if they have any extra Soul Masters hidden away.

Among them, Shui Bing'er and Huo Wushuang both reached level 45 Soul Master, while Huo Wu and Xue Wu both reached level 44 Soul Master, making them significantly stronger than in the original work.

Moreover, upon closer inspection of their battle, it is clear that everyone is significantly stronger and faster than in the original story. At least the battles appear to be much more intense, and even the Soul Masters of the three teams seem to have undergone weight training.

Based on Yang Ping'an's research over the years, if team members have undergone weight training, their limbs will appear slightly thicker, especially in terms of jumping ability and agility. The downside is that their movements are slightly less controllable, and their bodies will have some adaptation issues, which will be particularly noticeable when the weight is removed.

The improvement of Thunder Academy and Elephant Armor Academy doesn't seem to be that significant. Thunder Academy has always used the training methods of the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex family, which is unlikely to be changed at will. However, Yu Tianxin seems to have reached level 44, and Thunder Academy also has a total of four Soul Masters.

As for the Elephant Armor Academy, weight training has always been one of their basic training methods since childhood, especially since they are so large that it is difficult for them to grasp the essence of this training.

If they really want to achieve the desired effect, they need to adopt more complex training methods, increase their speed, and even control their diet. However, this would reduce their size and defensive capabilities, and eliminate their weight advantage. It's up to them to decide what to prioritize.

However, from any perspective, the Five Elements Academy is clearly much stronger than in the original story, and at least it is not something that the weakened Shrek Academy can easily defeat.
