Douluo Continent: Dragon's Journey Across the World

Chapter 39 Human-Faced Demon Spider

Yang Ping'an observed the dark gold dinosaur bear for a while, and the more he looked at it, the more terrified he became.

This Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear is incredibly powerful. It could probably tear apart even a thousand-year-old soul beast with its bare hands, and in just over ten days, it even killed a ten-thousand-year-old soul beast, even though it was only a newly entered ten-thousand-year-old soul beast.

There was even a mercenary squad that tried to hunt down the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear. Perhaps they were being naive and mistook it for an ordinary thousand-year-old bear-type soul beast. As a result, the five-man mercenary squad, whose highest-ranking Soul King was the leader, was completely wiped out by the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear. In particular, the Soul King-level captain was sliced into three pieces by one of the bear's claws.

Yang Ping'an originally planned to use wire mesh and traps to deal with the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear, but its sharp claws could cut through the wire mesh as easily as slicing vegetables.

As for traps, they are completely useless. The Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear is known as the Earth Ripper, and ordinary traps can basically flatten it out.

Yang Ping'an thought for a long time and realized that the only way to deal with this Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear was to divert the trouble to another place. He needed to lure in a soul beast of at least 20,000 years to have any hope of winning. Only in this way could he possibly benefit from the conflict between the two beasts.

After carefully observing the outer area of the Star Dou Great Forest for a while, we finally achieved our goal and found a human-faced demon spider in the mixed area about ten kilometers away from the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear.

This human-faced demon spider is probably around 15,000 years old, but it occupies a huge territory and looks extremely ferocious. There are many human-faced demon spiders following it, especially the human-faced demon spiders, which are known as evil killers.

Especially since this is a whole group of human-faced demon spiders, the largest one is 15,000 years old and is probably a female spider, but there are six more human-faced demon spiders below that that are 1,000 years old. Dealing with this dark gold dinosaur should not be a problem.

On this day, after much planning, Yang Ping'an was ready to take action.

No matter how powerful the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear is, it cannot escape the limitations of bear-type soul beasts; it simply has a particular fondness for honey.

Yang Ping'an then made arrangements, taking advantage of the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear's love for honey. He placed a large piece of honey every 500 meters, each piece weighing about 50 jin. This way, the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear wouldn't get too full, and the strong scent would attract its attention.

As expected, the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear fell for the trick, eating and drinking its way to the Human-Faced Demon Spider's lair. Yang Ping'an even placed a large amount of honey in the lair, all while using the Purple Gold Mastiff's sense of smell to avoid the Human-Faced Demon Spider's attacks and detection.

This dark gold dinosaur bear was quite audacious. Thinking it had found a honey nest, it completely disregarded the environment inside the spider's lair and began to feast, even destroying countless spider eggs.

As a result, the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear was like a hornet's nest that had been stirred up, and it was instantly attacked by countless human-faced spiders, especially the 15,000-year-old human-faced spider, which attacked the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear like a madman.

In the eyes of these human-faced spiders, they were completely unaware of Yang Ping'an's scheme; they simply regarded the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear as an enemy that had invaded their territory and harmed their children.

However, the human-faced spider was particularly concerned about its territory and its offspring, which ultimately led to a fierce battle between the two sides.

Countless spider webs flew toward the dark gold dinosaur bear, intending to trap it in their webs and then slowly devour this daring intruder.

Even when faced with countless spider webs, the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear was completely unafraid. It simply swung its sharp claws and cleaved the spider webs in just a few strokes, proving itself worthy of being called the ultimate gold soul beast.

However, the human-faced spider was completely unafraid of the dark gold dinosaur. Countless human-faced spiders attacked it from all directions, especially its eight sharp claws, which were like sharp spears.

Another point is that although the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear cleaved through all the spider webs, there were simply too many of them, and they contained potent poison. Once someone got stuck to them, their originally dark gold fur and skin would gradually begin to turn black.

After half an hour of fierce fighting, countless human-faced spiders were torn to pieces by the dark gold dinosaurs, and even the ten-thousand-year-old human-faced spider had one of its spider legs severed.

However, the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear wasn't much better off. No matter how strong its defense was, it couldn't withstand the attacks of a large number of human-faced spiders. Countless holes appeared on its body, mostly from the piercing wounds caused by the legs of the human-faced spiders. In particular, there was a deep, bone-revealing hole on its back, caused by a ten-thousand-year-old human-faced spider.

As the battle continued, both sides suffered heavy losses. The thousand-year-old spiders and human-faced demon spiders had been almost completely wiped out, and the remaining hundred-year-old human-faced demon spiders could no longer pose a threat.

However, the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear was exhausted and panting heavily. Half of its originally dark gold fur had turned dark black, and its roar was not as powerful as before.

In particular, the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear tried several times to escape back to its lair, but was blocked by countless spider webs, and was also attacked by many human-faced spiders.

By now, both sides were practically bloodthirsty. The Ten-Thousand-Year-Old Human-Faced Demon Spider was fearless, attacking the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear relentlessly. Even when its spider legs were cut off, it would still use the remaining spider legs to stab the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear.

As the battle drew to a close, the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear was practically half-dead, with two of its once-sharp claws broken. The Human-Faced Spider fared even worse, with four of its eight spider legs broken.

However, this human-faced spider was clearly highly intelligent. Taking advantage of the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear's injury, it once again spewed out countless spider webs, instantly enveloping the entire Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear. It seemed to have achieved the final victory.

At this moment, Yang Ping'an understood that the outcome of the battle was already decided, and the next step was for the Human-Faced Demon Spider to feed on it. This heavily injured Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear would probably be eaten by the Human-Faced Demon Spider until there was not even a trace left.

At that very moment, Yang Ping'an suddenly launched an attack. A huge steel net rushed towards the human-faced demon spider. At the same time, Yang Ping'an quickly took out the Zhuge Repeating Crossbow and fired the crossbows at the human-faced demon spider. Moreover, all the crossbows were aimed at the human-faced demon spider's body.

Faced with the sudden change, even the mighty, millennia-old human-faced spider was startled for a moment. Its remaining four sharp spider legs seemed to want to cleave the steel web, but they were obviously not as sharp as the claws of the dark gold dinosaur. It used all its strength but only managed to cut a small opening.

Although the Zhuge Repeating Crossbow was rather bulky, it was extremely fast and had a very strong attack power. In just an instant, countless crossbow bolts pierced the human-faced demon spider.

The human-faced spider, in pain, let out a strange cry, and instantly many hundred-year-old human-faced spiders pounced on Yang Ping'an, as if they wanted to tear this sudden enemy to shreds.

But Yang Ping'an just gave a cold laugh and immediately took action.
