Chapter 544 Plural Runes

The time to make a wish has arrived!

In the sky, the green vortex had disappeared, and with the continuous influx of curses, the dust cloud over the entire Earth had been cleared.

Above the Greater Grail, churning blood surged like raging waves crashing against the shore, echoing roars of death and its consequences.

The witch knelt on one knee above the lake of blood, her phoenix feather cloak shimmering with a pure light, the corrosive blood unable to touch her at all.

In her arms, the boy Adam's body was disintegrating directly.

First the skin, then the tendons, fibers, and bones —

The loose screws and parts, covered in dark red rust, seemed to have suddenly lost their grip and slid into the Holy Grail.

The body gradually decomposed, until finally all that remained in Hermione's palm was a shimmering polymer that resembled mercury or jelly.

That was Sechenov's most profound invention, something that made robots more and more like humans.

Hermione stared blankly at the lump of matter in her hand; it was Adam's last remnant.

Taking advantage of this moment, Lanlock II suddenly pushed his father's body into the lake and sat back on the throne.

Holding the silver scales, he stared intently at Grindelwald, who was slowly approaching on the lake, as if facing a formidable enemy.

There's something I should let you know.

He raised the silver scales, and under the light of that half-order, the surface of the water in the Holy Grail gradually calmed down.

"This half of the source of human civilization's order alone is insufficient to complete the Holy Grail ritual."

As they spoke, as Lanlock I's corpse sank, a dark red star shone brightly from beneath the blood lake, piercing through the thick pool of blood.

"The most important power still comes from us fairies ourselves, from the very source of the laws governing fairies!"

The body of the first emperor was decomposed by the blood lake, revealing the hidden Great Rune within, whose brilliant seven-colored radiance caused even the blood to change color.

"That seems to be—an illusion?" Hilmi's voice came from the moon as he tried to make out the complete Great Rune at the bottom of the Holy Grail.

"The power to turn the unreal into the real! The power to create from nothing! The power of the mind to create!" Lanlock shook the scales, and order and fantasy resonated with each other.

"Only by harnessing this power and uniting with the order of you humans can the purpose of the Grail of Fulfillment be fulfilled!"

The waters of the blood lake churned, gradually contracting and converging.

"Because of my father's dying wish, the Wish Cup can only be used to grant the wish of exterminating humanity!" Now, Lanlock II finally revealed the truth with a sinister grin.

"It cannot fulfill any other expectations, much less respond to human prayers!"

It glared at the dark demon: "Your laughable ambition was absurd and wrong from the very beginning!"

But now, Grindelwald seems to lack enough rationality to support his thinking.

He had already pushed his limits in restraining his urge to harm Hermione; now he had to kill something, destroy something!

Snapped!

A crisp snap of the fingers.

Violent black flames rose from beneath the Silver Throne.

Lanlock hurriedly took to the air, abandoning the scales on the throne.

"It's too late!" he cried out in desolate laughter from mid-air.

"The will within my father's remains has merged into the Holy Grail. Even if you kill me now, you cannot stop the ritual!"

He seemed prepared to die.

"The coexistence faction is still alive, and the reclusive faction has also escaped. Even today, the entire Rielland will perish for humanity, and the future of this world will surely belong to the fairies!"

At this moment, his madness finally made him resemble a demon emperor. He used his own life to buy time for the continuation of the demons, and this grand ambition transcended differences in stance and ideology.

A black, fiery meteor shot into the sky, no longer able to suppress the tyrannical Grindelwald, chasing after Lanlock as it soared into the heavens.

Hermione, however, was still lost in thought.

In her palm, within the shimmering, lustrous polymer, there was even half a symbol spinning!

That was also half a Great Rune, and its name was [Wisdom]!

For half a century, Sechenov, the wasteland's most brilliant human scientist, has been proud of his most powerful robot, one of which, within its polymer, lies half of a Great Rune called Wisdom.

"It's been with me all along?" the witch wondered absently.

The great runes that were originally hard to find even if you searched the whole world are now popping up one after another like they're on a clearance sale.

"We don't have much time to be shocked and stunned." Jin Yue landed, transforming into a half-body boy, and his expression became unusually serious.

Above the Blood Lake, an empty throne rests on a silver scale, half a Great Order Rune pressing down on one side of the scale, causing it to rise high.

A magnificent radiance burst forth, merging with the fantastical runes at the bottom of the lake. The blood swirled into a massive vortex, and the immense power that gathered was like the swinging of a precise clock of fate. The Cup of Fulfillment was about to transform into the great wish to exterminate humanity, according to the fairy's last will.

The ripples spread outwards, passing through the rift in the sky and reaching the hearts of every human being, precisely locking onto each target to be killed.

"Since the wish cannot be changed, let's fight for the gears of the Wish Cup." Hermione stood up and said expressionlessly. Adam's death was like the departure of a friend.

She was momentarily confused about the boundaries between herself and the boy. Was he a friend? Or just a tool to act like a living person?

The relationship between humans and machines has become subtle and elusive, like a philosopher's answer to a soul-searching question.

The Great Rune of Wisdom, radiating a cool white light, was stuffed into his chest, and his brain began to operate at high speed as if its restrictions had been lifted.

A new half of the Great Rune appeared in Hermione's palm, her half of the Order.

With a gentle flick, the Great Rune flew out and landed on the other side of the scale, instantly restoring balance.

The two fragments of the same origin attracted each other, echoing each other as they moved up and down alternately, stirring up circles of inscrutable waves.

In the sky, Lanlock was being chased all over the place by the tyrannical Fiery Demon King, looking utterly disheveled, but it was still keeping an eye on this side.

"What are you doing!" He sensed something was wrong. This witch had unusually offered up half of her Source of Order. Could she be trying to help the Holy Grail ritual unleash even greater power?

Subconsciously, it flicked its finger, trying to remotely control the scales and the throne, at least to get them out of the witch's influence.

But it was too late. The scales they had crafted, like a mountain, now weighed heavily on the throne and were completely beyond their control.

"I've said it before, this is the order of humanity, and you can't control it," Hermione said in a low voice.

"If the fantasies of fairies don't heed the prayers of humans, then why should human order obey the commands of fairies?"

She walked slowly toward the Silver Throne, and in her desperation, Lanlock tried to escape Grindelwald's charge.

But the crazed Dark Lord was not so easy to deal with. Instead, distracted, it was engulfed by a ball of black flames and screamed in agony.

The witch deftly lifted the scales and sat down on the fairy throne. She closed her eyes, which could see the present and the future, and sensed the great rune of illusion, filled with deep malice, beneath the vortex of the blood lake.

Order has fallen into new control, and the precisely executed ritual has suddenly stalled and been interrupted.

"Now, I will dismantle the Holy Grail; its power and its laws will be at my disposal!"
