Chapter 541 Whose Order
Chapter 541 Whose Order
Dark green raindrops fell into the scarlet lake.
From that curse of eternal winter, one can almost hear the cries of generations of humanity struggling with hunger and disease.
Hermione floated on the lake of blood formed by the Holy Grail. Opposite her, Lanlock sat panting on the Silver Throne, using magic to stop the bleeding from his severed arm.
"The Extinctionists have chosen the wrong path, and you will pay the price for it." Hermione said coldly in the moonlight as the golden moon continued to shine.
"But you don't need to worry. Apart from the reclusive faction that fled, Gonuk of the coexistence faction also maintains a good relationship with us, and the fairy race can continue to exist."
In response to her words were two deep red, vicious curses.
Lanlock used his intact right hand to attack Hermione again.
"Stubborn to the end." The witch shook her head, flicked her staff to dispel the curse, and reached out to grasp it. The powerful gravity forced the blood to flow in all directions towards the fairy emperor.
"I haven't lost yet! It's you humans who should be exterminated!" it roared, gathering its strength to push back the effects of gravity magic.
Another punch slammed into the armrest of the throne. With a muffled thud, the lake of blood seemed to boil, and a gleaming silver scale rose from beneath the blood. On one side of the scale was the dazzling, crystal-clear Great Rune of Order.
"Kill you, and the wizards' defeat will be over in the blink of an eye!"
The crown on Lanlock's head emitted a red light, connecting with the scales.
"Even without the Holy Grail, if we wipe out all of you wizards, the remaining humans are nothing but ants!"
The sky began to spin again—no, not the sky, but Lanlock twisting the laws once more, this time targeting Hermione alone.
The world is like a kaleidoscope, splitting and piecing itself back together, breaking into countless fragments as it spins.
The light of the Blood Lake, the light of the Winter's Curse, the light of Grindelwald's great battle with the Fairy King —
These dazzling colors refracted countless times in the kaleidoscope, and Hermione seemed to become a mayfly floating in the vast universe.
As Lanlock spun, he split and replicated into more than a dozen identical individuals, which simultaneously unleashed streams of red light at Hermione from the Silver Throne. The streams grew larger and larger, almost like mountains or stars, and more than a dozen streams came from all directions, nearly engulfing Hermione.
The witch unleashed countless layers of iron armor spells around her, but they shattered in a single breath.
But just this one gap is enough; the witch also has the Great Rune of Order.
The staff was raised high, its top bud shimmering with crystalline rainbow-colored order runes, as if a roulette wheel had been turned in reverse, freezing and pausing the flow of time.
The infinitely rotating, bizarre world constructed by Lanlock, and the destructive torrents that shot towards it, all stopped as if a pause button had been pressed, then reversed and retreated, striking back towards itself.
"I command you to perish! I grant you perish! I wish for your perish!" Lanlock roared, wielding the gleaming silver scales and waving them to stir up wave after wave of order, urging space to compress and twist, shoving everything before him into pulverized particles.
"Too rough," Hermione thought to herself, shaking her head.
The fairies may only have a superficial understanding of the Great Runes. They may know about the source of the laws called Order, but in terms of its application, they are still in the early stages of exploration. Being able to deduce an application like the Holy Grail ritual is already the best they can do.
Using the laws that constitute all things as weapons of destruction is far too inefficient.
Hermione also swung her staff, and the white ripples merged with Lanlock's red ripples. The destructive power that could break everything down into particles came to an abrupt halt in the face of the white light, and the shattered things were reassembled and restored within it.
Enraged, the Fairy Emperor continued to shake the scales. The blood-red runes pressed one side of the tray down, while the empty side rose high, as if using this method to move the world.
The kaleidoscopic space continued to twist and transform, gravity was stretched and divided into countless unconnected intervals, sharp dark red threads separated them, cutting and separating space, and even time was cut apart.
"This is getting interesting—" the witch thought.
If she had been to the Department of Mysteries before, she might have found this somewhat troublesome, but she had seen far more chaotic spacetime storms. The fairy's attack, which only slightly involved spacetime, was still somewhat unimaginative.
As the tip of the staff swept through the air, a streak of pure white light appeared.
Immediately afterwards, countless translucent crystals sprouted from the light traces, extending rapidly like roots within the kaleidoscope of the colorful world.
Everything spinning, everything uncertain, everything chaotic and erroneous appearances, everything fragmented and disordered in spacetime, was all solidified and fixed by these sprawling crystalline branches, including a dozen or so Lanlocks themselves.
"Wake up! This is the order of humanity!" Hermione shouted, slamming her staff down on the crystal branch.
The next second, the massive shattering began.
Everything the Fairy Emperor had constructed—the inversions and illusions of reality—was shattered and destroyed.
The real him tumbled and fell off the throne, returning to reality.
"The Demon Sword!" he cried out. Without the Emperor's Sword, which combined the power of all the fairies and surpassed all previous fairy swords, he was no match for Hermione.
But the sword that was usually at his beck and call did not respond to his call for a long time, for some reason.
Before she knew it, the stinging in her eyes had subsided, and future vision had returned to Hermione's right eye.
The foresight and hindsight flowed in the same person's eyes; with just one thought, the past and present of the Demon Sword were thoroughly memorized.
"Harry and the others—they stopped the cursed sword!?" She was somewhat surprised. She hadn't expected that the cursed sword, which was so powerful that even she had to be wary of it, would have such a weakness.
"Is it a contract? You extracted essence from the Seven Fairy Villages to forge the strongest magic sword," she asked Lanlock II.
"That is the true Fairy Emperor's Sword, carrying the power of all fairies and the seven fairy homelands. But in return, it cannot harm other fairy swords, nor can it be an enemy of the wielder of a fairy sword. Perhaps this is a backdoor that the other fairies left for themselves?"
Fairies are no less cunning than humans. With an emperor like no other appearing before, who is about to oppress everyone, how could they not leave themselves a way out to resist?
Just as the reclusive sects would simply drive off into the Valley of Coretti at crucial moments, even among the extinction faction, fairies from different homelands would find it difficult to truly unite as one.
The fairy swords they each wield are their backdoors, so that if they ever need to rebel against Lanlock, the strongest imperial sword will become nothing more than a decoration.
"As an emperor, you can command that sword as easily as your own arm through a contract, but because of the contract, it is now being suppressed by a group of human warriors."
Standing on the surface of the surging blood lake is like stepping on scorching lava; the pulsating power gives one the illusion that their wishes will come true.
Lanlock II, now dethroned, had lost an arm and his crown sat askew on his head; only the scales he clutched tightly in his hand offered him a semblance of security.
Boom!
A deafening roar came from overhead, and the massive Extinction Domain sphere shattered.
The silver dragon and the black dragon simultaneously dissipated, leaving only two figures falling downwards.
With a thud, Lanlock I's broken body fell onto the Silver Throne. He seemed to have lost the strength to stand up again and turned back into a corpse, except that the unknown Great Rune inside him was still functioning.
Grindelwald also floated down and stood on the rim of the enormous Holy Grail behind Hermione.
A grotesque, winding fire scar was gradually breaking open from his face to his chest. He remained silent, seemingly struggling to suppress the decay.
