Chapter 648 Sweet Revenge

After the situation reversed, Red Skull lost his previous arrogance and retreated repeatedly, his eyes filled with fear.

"No, impossible! I have the Moonstone, how could I lose to an old dog like you!" Red Skull roared fiercely as he retreated, but his steps became increasingly frantic.

Decades ago, Red Skull, with Captain America as an adversary, would never have been so easily caught off guard. And if he hadn't become the ruler of the wasteland, he wouldn't have been so cowardly.

There are too many "what ifs" in this world, but unlike Red Skull, Logan gave up on pursuing those so-called "what ifs" long ago.

"I never expected you to kill Moonstone," Logan pressed on, his eyes devoid of any pity. "If I remember correctly, her Thunder Commando was an ally who helped you capture the Helicarrier, wasn't it?"

"Of course—she's dead, I killed her—" Red Skull swallowed hard as he backed away. "You're not still worried about that traitor, are you? I—I've done something good for the people, haven't I?"

Logan was not fooled by his words. "The Moonstone can't save you, and neither can your shield. You owe a blood debt, and it's time to pay."

Snapped!

Red Skull's back was pressed against the arena barrier that God-King Doom had created for the two of them. He finally realized that he could no longer delay, but he wanted to live. He really wanted to live.

Life in the wasteland wasn't so bad. He could import medicine from Krakor to ensure his longevity, and he could obtain all sorts of beauties from Mr. Sinister. He indulged in beauty all day long, not to mention his gluttony. All the chefs in the wasteland were happy to work for him.

Red Skull had grown accustomed to this kind of life; he had experienced all that was wonderful, so the thought of losing it completely broke him.

He fell to his knees with a thud, forcing a fawning yet ugly smile onto his face: "Logan, I was wrong! I shouldn't have seized your homeland, I shouldn't have hurt your friends! Please spare me, I can share the power of Neo-Babylon with you, and we can rule the entire wasteland together!"

A pleading expression appeared on the ugly face of the Red Skull. "If you beg the God-King to end this duel of honor, if only—"

Logan stopped in his tracks, his eyes icy cold. "Cooperate? With scum like you?"

Before Logan could finish speaking, a sinister glint flashed in Red Skull's eyes.

Fine, fine, you forced me to do this!

He quietly reached his hand behind his back, and a thin beam of energy shot out from a hidden compartment in his wrist, aiming straight for Logan's eyes. This was one of Iron Man's legacies, now "shining" in his hand.

"Go to hell, you old bastard!"

Red Skull laughed wildly. With Logan's beast senses and healing abilities weakened considerably, if this beam hit, Wolverine would be completely obsolete.

However, Logan's superpowers had already been reawakened. Although the rune's magical creature bloodline fusion ritual would weaken his abilities at the cost of removing his weaknesses, Logan himself still retained a portion of his self-healing ability, which was enough to make up for the missing part.

The instant the energy beam shot out, Logan jerked his head to the side. The beam grazed his cheek, struck the light barrier behind him, and dissipated into starlight.

At the same time, Logan leaped up and pounced on Red Skull like a tiger, pressing one hand firmly on his shoulder while the steel claws of his other hand pointed straight for his heart.

The red skull's face drained of color; fear overwhelmed him. He struggled frantically, screaming, "No! Don't kill me! I am the president of Neo-Babylon! Killing me will start a war, and then even more people will die—"

Halfway through his scream, he suddenly remembered something and yelled, "Your son isn't dead! He's really not dead! I swear, just like suffocation couldn't kill you, little Howlett isn't dead either, he's still alive!"

"—I don't care anymore," Logan gasped, his eyes bloodshot. "I don't care about anything anymore!"

His emotions spiraled out of control instantly, and madness filled Logan's mind at that moment. Without realizing it, he entered berserk mode again, and blood and flesh flew everywhere.

The Red Skull's screams gradually faded, and finally his eyes widened to their maximum size, as if still holding endless fear and resentment.

The Moonstone was also knocked away by the steel claws during this frenzied slaughter, then crashed to the ground with a final, crisp sound, foreshadowing Red Skull's fate.

If Red Skull dies immediately after defeating the heroes, he will be known as the terminator of superheroes, and countless villains will be proud of him.

If Red Skull dies after becoming the ruler of the wasteland, he will be called the Wasteland Emperor, and some may even idolize him for ending the chaos.

But now that Red Skull is dead, he'll only be a joke.

After a long while, Logan's reason finally brought his bestial nature back into its cage. Blood splattered on his face, and he subconsciously glanced down at the Red Skull's corpse. That bastard had long since lost his humanity.

Pooh!

Logan stood up, spat at him, and then, panting, bowed to the God-King again, thanking God-King Doom for his grace that allowed him to take revenge.

Lord Doom clapped his hands in satisfaction, particularly pleased with the spectacle, especially the Red Skull's pathetic display. Inspired by him, the other lords joined in the applause; the duel had indeed been well worth the effort.

After Rune nodded and bowed to Lord Doom, he led Logan back to Krakor's camp. The White Queen patted him on the shoulder and whispered, "Well done."

The other mutant senators smiled at Logan, though Logan himself seemed somewhat dejected.

"Do you need me to bring your son back?" Rune knew what Logan was worried about.

But after a moment of silence, Logan shook his head. "He's definitely safer than us now."

Logan was right. Lord Doom quickly issued the order to attack, and he planned the attack areas for each faction, which naturally included Krakor.

Under his divine power, all the lords and their troops no longer needed to travel, but were instantly teleported to their designated locations.

"Lord Doom has ordered that we assist Lord Apocalypse, Lord Red Queen, and Lord Mr. Evil in reclaiming control of the western half of the Southern Wall!"

Laser Eyes looked at the mutants below who were about to participate in the attack and said decisively, forcibly suppressing the sadness in his heart, "I demand that you strictly follow orders! Do you understand?"

"Oh, oh, oh!"

Unlike Cyclops's own sadness, the mutants in the audience reacted quite enthusiastically, even though they had never actually been on the battlefield, this did not diminish their excitement.

They cheered, shouted, and responded to the leaders' mobilization from the stage with smiles on their faces.

Magneto, standing to the side, waved in response to the cheers from the audience, and whispered to Thor's Eye, "These young people—"

You need to experience it yourself to fully realize the cruelty of war.

As he spoke, he looked to the other side, as if he could see his target through the tent: the wall that had once separated the Annihilation Zerg, Ultron, and the zombies, now became an obstacle preventing them from launching an attack.

How ironic!
