Chapter 606 Goldrinn: You Humans Are Playing a Real Game

"I know what you're worried about, but I assure you, once you become my alpha wolf, I will give you everything better than you have now. You will have a loyal pack of companions, and the power to protect everything!"

For the first time, Logan felt a pang of doubt. He thought of his fellow mutants, but the thought lasted only a moment before he suppressed it.

No, this isn't the Marvel Universe. The people here aren't persecuting mutants. There are innocent people here who need his protection. He can't just leave like this.

"I have my responsibilities," Logan said in a deep voice, his eyes hardening again. "I cannot leave here. I must protect the peace of this world. I'm glad you invited me, but—I'm sorry, I have to decline."

When Zack Kang heard what the two were saying, his eyes widened. In the time they had spent together, he had already figured out what kind of person Logan was.

On the surface, Logan is rude, aloof, and cynical. He is easily angered and likes to solve problems with his fists. But deep down, this wolf-like man has a gentle side.

He is a man of his word, extremely responsible, and willing to sacrifice everything to protect children. Sometimes, Logan would even refuse to charge a client because of their poverty.

Ever since Rune brought Logan to his apartment, Constantine no longer needs to worry about his back, not only because Wolverine has strong regenerative abilities, but also because Constantine knows that this tough guy is reliable!

Therefore, Constantine wanted to persuade Logan to accept Goldrinn's power. As a mage, he knew how rare Goldrinn's blessing was, especially given how simple Goldrinn's request was.

Look at those demon kings of hell; to use their power, one must offer up a part of one's soul. And look at those bird-men in the sky; they demand pure faith.

If it weren't for the two gods brought by Rune disrupting the "power lending market," the price demanded by the demons and angels would probably have been even higher.

Turning to look at Goldrinn, the only condition he had for giving you power was that you become the leader of his retinue. If this white wolf hadn't come to your door and promised it to your face, Constantine himself would have laughed it off.

Under Constantine's watchful gaze, Goldrin continued to try to persuade Logan to accept his power, but he had never humbled himself before, much less tried to communicate with demons about how to bewitch people. So his words only strengthened Logan's resolve to stay in the DC Universe.

Watching Goldrin almost turn back every few steps before finally leaving his room, Constantine made a decision. He punched himself hard, then stood up and left the room.

Where are you going?

What else can I do? Of course, I'll find you a good job! You idiot!

But Constantine didn't say it aloud. Instead, he exclaimed in reply, "That's a god! I'll try to get on his good side; you never know when I might need his help!"

Logan rolled his eyes, but didn't suspect anything.

Constantine—this mage, often jokingly called "Scumbag Constantine" because of his penchant for betraying allies, is incredibly awkward.

He might sacrifice his friends to achieve a grander goal—like saving all of London—or simply to survive.

But after a while, he would always be tormented by his conscience and choose to save his friend who had been sacrificed, even at the cost of using all his connections.

Connections don't appear or accumulate without reason. Constantine relied on his silver tongue; he would proactively chat and confide in powerful beings like angels and demons, then offer to help them solve their problems in exchange for favors.

Logan has seen this kind of thing many times.

"Great Wolf God, please wait!"

Goldrinn didn't turn around. He recognized the voice as belonging to that damned sorcerer, and his mood was already terrible because of Logan's rejection.

Constantine had no choice but to chase after Goldrinn, pleading with the wolf god to stop and listen to his words. Goldrinn, in a phantom form, ran across the boundary between dream and reality, trying to shake off the scoundrel Constantine.

However, Constantine, after being enhanced by the symbiote, is fully capable of catching up with Goldrinn.

After a chase of more than ten minutes, Goldrinn finally appeared. He looked coldly at Constantine, "Demon Walker, I'll give you thirty seconds. If you can't give me a reasonable explanation—"

He didn't continue, but his meaning was already quite clear.

Constantine, hands on his knees, was panting heavily; keeping up with Goldrinn was no easy task.

The Wolf God can walk in a straight line at the boundary between reality and illusion, but Constantine has to climb over walls or take detours. If it weren't for tracking magic, even with a body enhanced by the symbiote, he would probably be lost.

"I can—huff—" He finally caught his breath, but his vision was still blurry. In those ten minutes, Zacon had almost done a month's worth of exercise. "Huff—I can make Logan your servant!"

Goldling squinted, scrutinizing the man from head to toe.

"Oh?" He circled around Zha Kang, scrutinizing him with a critical eye. "That reason is very tempting, and I'm quite interested in it—"

"But—tell me, Constantine, what is the price!?"

"I demand—no, I beg you, grant Logan the right to freely travel between the two universes!" Constantine said with a wry smile, "I—I quite like that tough guy. If he weren't straight, I definitely—"

"Enough!" Goldling shouted angrily, stopping Constantine's words from polluting his pure ears.

He had actually witnessed love between women among the night elves, but there was a reason for that!

After the War of the Ancients, the power of arcane magic was seen as a guiding light for the Burning Legion's invasion of Azeroth, so many men turned to the path of druids and entered the Emerald Dream to defend Azeroth.

The remaining women, suffering from unbearable hunger and thirst during the long, cold nights, could no longer satisfy their spiritual needs with the props they had. So they turned to other women for sustenance.

According to his recent investigation, this universe does not have an extreme male-to-female ratio like the Night Elves, but Goldrin still saw a large number of men engaging in love, a scene that made Goldrin feel that his eyes had been defiled.

"Alright, alright, I won't say anymore." Constantine shrugged, his expression still a little aggrieved. "Let's get down to business. I'm willing to persuade Logan to become your familiar, but you can't force him to stay in this other world forever."

"Is that all you're asking for?" Goldling frowned.

"certainly!"
