Chapter 604 Goldrinn's Alpha Wolf Candidate
Chapter 604 Goldrinn's Alpha Wolf Candidate
Just as the mages gathered and began negotiations, Goldrinn was walking on the damp, decaying stone path.
The air here carries a scent completely different from that of Azeroth—the acrid smell of coal smoke mixed with the fishy odor of the Thames, and a more subtle, unsettling energy fluctuation.
Just smelling that sticky, strange odor that lingered in every corner of the streets made the wolf god grin.
He couldn't help but wonder if the alpha wolf that Rune had promised him was really here.
It's no wonder that Goldrinn questioned Rune, because if mortals were exposed to this magic for a long time, they would naturally fall into depravity. Even in another world, the Wolf God didn't think things would turn out any different.
However, he still sensed the city; his divine power, in the blink of an eye, spread across the London night sky like an invisible spiderweb. It swept past the shimmering lights on the Thames, past the Gothic spires of the Houses of Parliament—
This pure and powerful life force startled many dark creatures hidden beneath the glittering facade, causing them to cower and dare not cause any more trouble.
Soon, Goldling found his target: a creature with exceptionally strong vitality was hiding in a dilapidated apartment building not far away. He transformed into a blurry, silvery-white phantom, moving between illusion and reality, and quickly arrived at his destination.
The building's walls were mottled, and its windows were covered with a thick layer of dust. The light from the few streetlights around it seemed particularly dim. The entrance to the building was piled with discarded furniture and garbage, which emitted a musty smell and the sour odor of alcohol.
A flicker of displeasure crossed Goldling's eyes, but it wasn't because of the strange smell in the garbage; rather, it was because of a stench in the building that he found utterly repulsive.
The smell was familiar; Goldrinn wanted nothing more than to tear its master's throat apart. This smell, filled with cunning, betrayal, and chaotic desires, was exactly like that of the warlocks in Azeroth who made deals with demons.
It's disgusting.
Goldrinn snorted coldly, then transformed into a streak of silver light, passing straight through the apartment building's wall and drifting towards the floor where the source of the aura was located. As he delved deeper, the Wolf God gained a new understanding of the corruption of this apartment building—or rather, this area.
The graffiti on the walls was twisted and grotesque, the smell of alcohol and tobacco in the air grew stronger, and a pungent smell of the sea and heather wafted over, making the wolf nauseous.
This place is the perfect symbol of decadence.
Upon arriving at the destination, the door was not completely closed, leaving a small gap. From inside, one could hear two men shouting and talking, mixed with the crisp sound of glasses clinking.
Goldling's ghostly figure stopped at the crack in the door, his silver-gray eyes peering into the room through the gap.
There were two men in the room.
A man sat on the sofa, wearing a worn-out trench coat, with messy hair and a cynical smile on his face. He held a glass of whiskey in his hand and was talking to the man opposite him. This lazy fellow was the source of Goldrinn's disgust.
Another man sat in the chair opposite him. He was tall and burly, wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans, with muscular arms and a thick beard.
Goldling's gaze instantly locked onto the latter. He exuded an extremely strong wild aura, and more importantly, hidden beneath this aura was an indomitable will, as if even if he were knocked down a thousand times, he would stand up for the thousand and first time.
These are precisely the qualities he is looking for in the alpha wolf.
Indeed, Goldrin was eyeing Wolverine, while the other cynical man was Constantine, who was currently recounting how he had tricked a demon out of a soul contract. Even Goldrin could detect the flaws in his account.
At least half of them are lies!
A glint of murderous intent flashed in Goldring's eyes, but the relationship between Wolverine and Constantine made it difficult for him to act.
Well, this is another world after all. Let Rune deal with the demons here himself.
"—That foolish demon never realized that I had already switched the contract in his hand." Constantine laughed smugly, then raised his glass and took a big gulp. "See, sometimes brains are much more useful than fists."
Logan snorted coldly, said nothing, but drank the rest of the wine in his glass in one gulp, then picked up the bottle on the table and refilled his glass.
The demons are already among the best of the best, but Constantine, who can fool even the demons—Logan certainly wouldn't dare make a deal with that scumbag.
There's a reason he can be a long-term teammate with Constantine. At least when he's with that scumbag Constantine, Logan doesn't need to worry about covering for his teammate. That scumbag won't die easily, and even if he does, he'll crawl out of hell.
Just as Constantine was about to continue his legendary tale of deceiving a demon into committing suicide, the temperature in the room suddenly plummeted. The window, which had been open, was slammed shut by an invisible force, and the curtains clung tightly to the window as if nailed to it.
Constantine's smile froze instantly. He slammed down his glass, his eyes scanning every corner of the room warily, his right hand stealthily reaching for the amulet in his pocket.
Logan immediately stood up, his claws unsheathed, and his adrenaline surged, but his beastly instincts failed to give him any warning.
The thing that came—did it seem harmless?
"Something's come in." Constantine's voice turned serious, his eyes fixed on the air in the center of the room. "And it's not one of those little gadgets we usually deal with."
As soon as he finished speaking, the air in the center of the room began to distort and swirl. Silvery-white light seeped out from the distorted air, gradually converging into a huge phantom.
An enormous wolf appeared out of nowhere, its silvery mane flowing like moonlight, its limbs sculpted with powerful, flowing muscles, and its eyes radiating intelligence.
This was so beautiful that it attracted the attention of Elune, the famous Wild Goddess who was obsessed with light.
Goldrinn looked at Constantine first, and said disdainfully, "You filthy maggot, you stink. I'm sure you'd become a powerful warlock in our universe."
Constantine was pale, but not flustered. Although the giant wolf was full of murderous intent towards him, he had powerful backers!
"I advise you not to cause trouble here! Rune is my boss, so get lost if you know what's good for you!" Zha Kang sneered, trying to intimidate the wolf with words, but his words trembled, which made Goldrin laugh.
"I came here following Rune's guidance, you fool!"
