Chapter 564 The Green Dragon Legion Requests to Join the Battle

A day later, the allied camp in Theramore was taking shape. Orc and human troops were mixed together, a sight that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago.

Fortunately, the two sides had already cooperated during the Battle of Mount Hyjal, which prevented a bloodbath.

Jaina stepped out of her tent and saw Thrall discussing tactics with several orc commanders. The valiant Warchief had summoned the most elite Kor'kron guards and was preparing to personally carry out the decapitation plan.

But Jaina would never agree to that.

The shamans, on the other hand, planned to work with the mages to create a fog using water elementals to weaken the firepower of the Apokolips mothership. However, to be honest, Thrall had no confidence in this plan.

Just as Jaina was about to go forward and greet them, she suddenly noticed the ground beneath her feet beginning to tremble slightly. Emerald green light seeped from the earth.

A human soldier curiously reached out and touched the particles of light. The moment the particles touched his skin, a gentle yet powerful life force surged into his body, healing his internal injuries.

Sal also knelt on one knee, pressing his palm to the stone floor, trying to understand what was happening, but he failed.

However, the answer was soon revealed: The entire city of Theramore began to be covered in greenery, tender shoots sprouted from the cracks in the city walls and quickly grew into vines with small flowers, and even the wooden beams of the houses began to sprout branches, as if they had come back to life. The air was filled with the scent of a forest after the rain, mixed with the fragrance of flowers, the scent of earth and some indescribable ancient magic.

It is the Emerald Dream, celebrating the passing of the Fallen Land.

The next moment, a beam of emerald light shot into the sky from the north.

Thrall and Jaina both recognized the area as Ashenvale, the heartland of the night elves and one of the habitats of the Green Dragonflight. They guarded the connection between the Emerald Dream and reality, but what others didn't know was that these green dragons had long since fallen.

Furthermore, Mount Hyjal lies to the northeast of Ashenvale, so this region directly faces the otherworldly creatures. Night elves, orcs, and humans have all established observation posts there to monitor their every move.

However, the sentries here were dumbfounded as they watched the miracle unfolding: the entire forest seemed to be glowing, and a deep hum, like a chorus of ten thousand voices, came from the depths of the forest—the Emerald Dream itself was "breathing."

Ysera was actually fighting the Emerald Nightmare and had no time to deal with things in the real world. After all, once the Emerald Nightmare devoured the Emerald Dream, the reality of the entire Azeroth would be rewritten in an instant.

However, Rune's act of absorbing the power of nightmares greatly alleviated the pressure on the Emerald Dream, and Ysera's Green Dragonflight was finally able to free up its hands to help their druid friends.

"Look, it's a green dragon!" a night elf sentinel shouted excitedly, pointing to the huge shadow in the pillar of light.

He was right. As the pillar of light grew brighter, the shadows within it became clearer, and more and more wings unfolded within it. Each flap stirred up an emerald-colored energy storm, and they were crossing the boundary between reality and dreams.

Then, the first dragon appeared in the real world, raising its head to the sky and letting out a long roar, followed by the second, the third—

A large number of emerald dragons appeared one after another, and on their backs rode many night elves, who were druids.

Rune's absorption of the Nightmare's power unleashed not only the Green Dragon, but also the Druids of the Night Elf race.

At the forefront of the dragon herd, two exceptionally majestic dragons flew side by side. On the back of the one on the left stood Malfurion Stormrage, and on the right stood Tyrande Whisperwind.

When the dragons flew over Theramore, ordinary people and soldiers alike forgot their discipline. The bolder humans, tauren, and orcs surged onto the streets and walls, gazing up at the epic spectacle, while the cowardly hid under their beds, praying that the dragons would spare them.

Malfurion's dragon was the first to land on the shallows outside Theramore Harbor. The green dragon's enormous size stirred up waves, and Malfurion leaped off its back with a lightness that belied his age.

Jaina and Thrall had already teleported over.

"The Emerald Dream has been largely purified, but Ysera is still within it," Malfurion explained regarding his actions during this time. "She is working with Elune to try and save the corrupted green dragons."

Tyrande then jumped off the back of another dragon. The changes to her were quite remarkable. Living vines grew on her originally silver-white armor, and some of the vines even bloomed with pure white flowers. "But we still received some reinforcements."

She patted the huge green dragon beside her. "However, I saw the changes in Mount Hyjal on the way here. We don't have much time left. If we want to stop the portal from opening, we need to set off immediately."

"But that warship in the sky cannot be ignored, I'm afraid—" Jaina hesitated, "we've all witnessed its firepower—"

"Green dragons can take people on dream journeys, my friend," Malfurion smiled gently. "We have a better way."

Hope was rekindled, and tactical details were quickly finalized in the next two hours.

Most of the green dragons are responsible for healing the wounded, minimizing losses, and maintaining the front line, while a small number of green dragons will follow Nazgrell, Cairne Bloodhoof, the most elite Kor'kron Guards, and the archmages of Dalaran in decapitation operations.

Thrall wanted to lead the tribe himself, but Malfurion gently reminded him that no one but Thrall could command the Horde anymore.

Even so, this decapitation operation remains dangerous.

The massive spatial rift at Mount Hyjal would affect the operation of all other spatial spells, and among those terrifying Parademons, there were some who were very skilled in spatial spells. This is why Jaina didn't suggest simply using teleportation to airdrop the army.

The remaining soldiers were tasked with launching feint attacks on the main battlefield. Regardless of whether the decapitation strike succeeded or failed, the shamans would help these soldiers retreat.

After the meeting, Malfurion left Nazgrare and Cairne Bloodhoof alone.

-

"I have something very important to tell you, and please remember it—"

Nazgrell watched the powerful druid with silence and caution, while Cairne listened quietly to his words.

"The success of your decapitation operation rests entirely on one person." Malfurion's words startled the two leaders. The Archdruid continued, "If the green dragon finds him but he doesn't come with you, then retreat."

"Without him, this so-called decapitation operation would have been nothing more than suicide."
