Chapter 534 Thor: Maybe I should just die.

Athena used the god of fire as leverage to stop Rune from harming Hera because she already had a very close relationship with this god of craftsmen.

It was Hephaestus who struck Zeus on the head with his axe, which led to Athena's birth. Therefore, she was always grateful to Hephaestus and would visit him from time to time.

Sometimes she would also train the group of men with Amazonian blood. Although these men were abandoned by Paradise Island, their bloodline had never changed, so they had great potential.

There are actually some "one-night husbands" abandoned by the Amazons on the island. These are men that the fierce women snatched from outside Paradise Island. However, these mortals do not live long, so their numbers seem small.

In the past, these mortals were one of the windows through which the god of fire understood the world, until the advent of television.

Hephaestus originally took in these people out of pity, but they were unwilling to accept Hephaestus's kindness for nothing, so they volunteered to help Hephaestus with chores.

In reality, their busy time was very short, since there weren't many other people on the island who enjoyed forging besides Vulcan. Vulcan himself didn't rely on fuels like wood or coal; the crater itself was his forging platform.

But now they might get busy.

After Rune handed the Ultimate Eraser to Hephaestus, the god of craftsmen said he would study it carefully before running back to the volcano without even saying goodbye to Rune.

"I apologize for his rudeness—" Athena sighed. Hephaestus had very little time for socializing, and most of the people he came into contact with regarded him as a benefactor or master. Coupled with the god of fire's past experiences—this made his temper and personality very strange.

Rune, however, was not offended by this; he knew what that feeling was like.

At Hogwarts, Rune was always drawn to all sorts of knowledge, and would sometimes forget about the people and things around him. Sometimes, when he was engrossed in studying magic, he would stay up all night without even realizing it.

Seeing that the powerful mage truly didn't seem to care about the fire god's rudeness, Athena cautiously brought up the matter of allies again. Rune looked at Athena and smiled.

"I understand your concerns, but I'm not suited to be your ally." Rune's words disappointed Athena, but his next sentence piqued the current God-King's interest: "However, I do know some who could form an alliance with you—"

Deep within a side hall of the Golden Palace, where the bright Asgardian sunlight never shines, only magical flames leap in the fireplace, casting flickering shadows. The air is filled with the aroma of aged ale and the mingled scents of roasted meat fat.

Although Thor was confined to his quarters, Odin did not neglect his son. He had plenty of food, drink, and entertainment; aside from being forbidden from leaving the house, Odin fulfilled almost all of Thor's needs.

Of course, the only request Thor made after being grounded was to go out.

-

In the past, no one was allowed to enter this side hall, but today three uninvited guests arrived. Under the careful guidance of the attendants, they passed through layers of curtains and met their friend, the future King of Asgard, Thor, the God of Thunder.

However, the scene before them froze the three battle-hardened warriors.

Thor was now deeply immersed in a specially made throne cushion that seemed larger than ever before.

His once sun-kissed blond hair now appeared greasy and disheveled, cascading loosely over his shoulders. Thor's signature beard was thicker than ever, yet it couldn't conceal the much rounder lines of his face.

Volstagg, the fattest member of the trio, squinted at Thor's belly, then gestured to his own, and sadly concluded that Thor's obesity was comparable to his own.

Thor was now wearing a loose, dark velvet robe, which was stretched taut by his stocky frame, with the belt around his waist digging deep into his belly.

In the corner, the silver armor that symbolized glory and power was carelessly tossed aside. In Hogan's eyes, it seemed to be wailing. Thor heard footsteps, but he didn't even bother to glance at the person coming. He continued watching the television in front of him, one hand still clutching a huge oak wine glass.

"Just leave the snacks here." He patted his stomach, which was covered with crumbs of potato chips; this was clearly Thor's dining table.

The relatively composed Hogan frowned deeply. He exchanged glances with Volstagg and Fandral, then said in a deep voice, "Thor, my brother—we heard you were confined, but we did not know that His Majesty Odin's punishment—was so severe."

Fandral walked halfway around Thor, then looked at Hogan and shook his head. "It shouldn't be Loki. I can't see any trace of illusion."

Thor snapped out of his daze, lifted his slightly swollen eyelids, looked at his loyal companions, and forced a bitter smile that was a mixture of embarrassment, helplessness, and self-deprecation.

"Ah, my friends—you've arrived. Would you like a drink? There's plenty of alcohol here—"

"Thor, this is not the time for drinking!" Volstagg's voice boomed. "It is Odin, the Allfather, who summons you!"

Hogan then spoke up, "His Majesty wishes to see you, and soon. In the council chamber of the Golden Palace. You need to quickly prepare your disguise, my friend; a distinguished guest has arrived!"

However, Thor stood up, dusted himself off, shook off the food crumbs, and said to the three, "Since we're going as soon as possible, let's go now!"

He strode forward without even changing his clothes. The trio looked at each other, and it wasn't until Thor had walked out of the solitary confinement room that Hogan came to his senses.

"Quick, you two go to Thor's closet and find him some suitable clothes. I'll go stop him!" Hogan said in a very fast voice, then ran off to stop Thor, leaving Vostagg and Fandral looking at each other in bewilderment.

"Do you know Thor's current size and model?" Vandal asked.

Vostagg hesitated, gestured to his stomach, and said tremulously, "Maybe it's the same size as mine?"

"No, I think he's much fatter than you!" Fandall joked, and then the two of them laughed as they rummaged through the wardrobe.

Thor strode forward, barefoot, while Hogan, following behind, earnestly advised his good friend to go back and put on some proper clothes, but Thor just sneered.

"Heh, don't think I don't know who our distinguished guest is. Isn't it that mage Rune?" Thor shook his head, thinking he had succeeded. He was going to make Odin lose face in front of Rune.

Even though Thor himself was the one who lost the most face.

Hogan couldn't stop Thor at all. Before the other two could even bring the clothes, Thor arrived at the council chamber door. He kicked the door open, completely unconcerned about the underwear exposed beneath his robes. "Hello, Rune, you are unaware—"

road----"

Inside the door, besides Rune, Odin, and the serpent, there was a very beautiful woman who was staring blankly at her lower body.

Thor calmly closed the door again, calmly looking at the delicate and exquisite patterns on the door, and calmly thought to himself: Maybe I should just die.
