Chapter 322 Remaking the Human Cube

Chapter 322 Remaking the Human Cube

Rune saw through the other person's thoughts almost instantly.

Although Rune only uses Professor X's weakened ability as a defensive measure and is unwilling to use it actively after acquiring it, this ability still gives Rune the ability to passively read minds. This ability is certainly not strong enough to achieve the effect of mind-stealing with a mere glare, but it is enough to see the other person's emotions.

The guy in front of me was experiencing a mix of emotions, including jealousy, anger, and envy, but the first three were the strongest.

"You're trying to provoke me, aren't you?" Rune tilted his head and asked. The man instantly felt as if he had been seen through; that penetrating gaze instantly wounded his pathetic pride.

"you!"

"Is that so, Joseph?"

Upon being suddenly called by his real name, the obese man froze, his previous frenzied demeanor vanishing as he swallowed hard. "You—you're also a member of the Super Police Team?"

Joseph racked his brains, trying to recall a handsome man with mind-reading abilities.

"No," Rune shook his head, "Joseph, does that mean anyone who isn't a member of the Super Judiciary can be bullied at will?"

Even after hearing that Rune wasn't a member of the Super Judgment, Joseph still didn't dare to shout as loudly as before. His breathing was becoming more rapid, and he inexplicably felt that if he nodded, he would be dead without a burial place.

"say."

The handsome man continued to ask him in a very soft voice, and Joseph immediately shook his head, replying with a smile that looked more like a grimace: "No, no—"

It was around two o'clock in the afternoon, a very hot time, but Joseph felt a chill run down his spine. He felt that he was not facing a person, but some kind of more abstract and dangerous creature.

"Very good, you're very obedient. But the you I've seen doesn't seem to be doing this at all." Rune shook his head, feigning regret, and said, "In that case, you don't mind if I kill you, do you?"

"No, no, no, please, please—"

The next moment, the obese man noticed strange, grid-like patterns appearing on his arm, like the dividing lines of a Rubik's Cube. This bizarre sight made Joseph mutter, "What's going on?"

After saying this, he realized that his voice had become high-pitched, his fingers were deforming according to the grid pattern, and his joints were twisting and turning at an impossible angle.

The pain was so intense that he screamed, but found that his voice could not be heard. The intense pain made him lie on the ground and start rolling around. Even more terrifying, Joseph's bones made a terrible cracking sound. He could even feel the sound of each bone breaking through bone conduction.

The grid-like patterns continued to spread, affecting his arms, chest, belly, thighs, and calves—these areas began to rotate independently. Eventually, Joseph's vision began to distort—he knew he was finished.

When Joseph's pain reached its peak, his body folded into a Rubik's Cube. Then, this huge and obese Rubik's Cube began to shrink, and eventually, Joseph lost the ability to think.

Joseph, who once hunted and killed ordinary people indiscriminately on the streets, eventually became Rune's prey. If he hadn't chosen to provoke Rune, he might have lived a few more days. But unfortunately, this scumbag, who was bullied by the strong and then turned around to vent his anger on ordinary people, has become Rune's human Rubik's Cube.

"That's great." Rune smiled as he looked at the Rubik's Cube in his hand. To find the whereabouts of Compound Five, he would have to find this group of superpowered individuals, and he was just worried about how to get close to those members of the Super Judiciary.

Don't worry, if those guys who bully you are also wicked, I'll kill them for you.

As he thought this, Rune transformed into Joseph's appearance. Many busy ordinary people walked past Rune, but they seemed blind, not looking in his direction at all.

As Joseph walked into the Super Boys' door, several people turned to look at him simultaneously.

"Hey, isn't this Fat Joe?" a fairly handsome white man shouted, instantly attracting the attention of the remaining people who hadn't yet noticed Joseph's arrival.

Generally speaking, the name Joseph can be shortened to Joe by close friends, but this white man combined his nickname with an offensive word to create a highly insulting compound word.

A black man burst out laughing at the nickname "Fat Pig Joe," two women huddled together and giggled, and an Indian man brazenly imitated Joseph's walking posture. Not to be outdone, another man next to him deliberately walked up to Joseph and panted heavily.

The mockery continued for a while, and the white man who had first mocked Joseph became somewhat puzzled. Usually, Joseph would have been furious by now, but why was he so quiet today?

He carefully observed Joseph's fat face, which held a damned calm, and his small, almost invisible eyes seemed to pierce through his soul.

This enraged the man, who demanded, "Hey, Fatty Joe! You're not thinking of committing suicide, are you?"

"If you're going to commit suicide, don't get too close to me. I'm afraid the splattered grease will get my uniform dirty," a woman said. As soon as she finished speaking, everyone in the room burst into laughter.

"This might be a good thing. If you die, you could probably feed a family for half a month!" The Indian man said wittily after the laughter subsided, which amused everyone present again.

But Joseph just looked at each person as if he wanted to see through them.

Perhaps there are good people in the Super Boys, but at least Joseph's small group doesn't. Ironically, in terms of pure ability, Joseph is actually the strongest in the group. The Hundred Man's ability is laser eyes, but his maximum temperature isn't particularly high; the Black man's ability is a weakened version of superhuman strength; and the Indian man's ability is manipulating mud—

But faced with such collective bullying, Joseph could only swallow his anger. These guys weren't any better; in their eyes, they were born superior, and ordinary people were merely expendable resources.

Come to think of it, the leader of this superhuman team is an invisible man. With such an arrogant and irritable beast who often uses his invisibility to spy, how could there be any good people in this team?
