Chapter 271 The Filial Piety Between Thor and Odin
A portal opened in front of Avengers Tower, and Friday relayed the message directly to Tony. Upon hearing this, Tony...
He shouted, "Hey everyone, our savior is back! He's right downstairs!"
His tone was filled with undisguised anticipation.
"Yes, sir," Friday said calmly. "He's already in the building's elevator and is expected to arrive in 30 seconds."
So, many heroes and villains immediately came to the elevator door. Some of them had never seen Rune before and wanted to see his face, while others were thinking about him. For example, Clark proudly said that Rune was his cousin while the elevator was going up. Spider-Man looked at him in surprise, and the others also turned to look at Clark.
But soon, the elevator dinged, immediately drawing everyone's attention to the elevator doors. A sense of anticipation and excitement filled the air as the doors slowly opened—
The cheers abruptly ceased.
Rune stood there, supported by Raven. In Clark's eyes, he was still wearing the same clothes he had that morning, but now there was a strip of cloth over his face. Rune's face remained calm. In Clark's memory, he always had this expression, as if nothing could surprise him.
"Hello, because of some eye problems, I can't recognize everyone here for the time being, so—" Rune's voice was calm, but the entire corridor fell into dead silence.
Clark was the first to react. He rushed over almost instantly, but at the last moment, he stopped abruptly and stood helplessly in front of Rune.
"You—your eyes—"
Clark's voice trembled; he couldn't accept the reality before him. He had never experienced anything like this before. He had always stubbornly believed that good would triumph over evil, always thinking that reality would be like in the TV dramas, where the hero would always win and then passionately kiss the lover he met along the way.
But seeing Rune's injuries, he felt a heavy sense of guilt—if he had listened to Rune and followed him to destroy another universe, would Rune have been spared the sacrifice of his eyes?
This sense of guilt seemed to live on, climbing up Clark's spine.
Yes, I am the older one, I am Rune's cousin, I am the one who is blind!
Clark's eyes reddened, and he was almost in tears. He didn't even know how to explain it to his parents.
Stark looked at Rune seriously, his expression quickly shifting from shock to anger: "Who did this? I'll make them pay!"
Logan also moved closer to Rune. He wasn't good at expressing his emotions, so he just silently put out his cigarette and patted Rune on the back.
"It's not that exaggerated," Rune keenly sensed the atmosphere shift from relaxed to heavy, and he was somewhat speechless. "My eyes have already regenerated, it's just that new eyes are more delicate and can't handle strong light for the time being, so they can't open yet. What are you thinking!?"
"Fuck!" Tony was the first to react, a look of relief spreading across his face. "You scared me to death!"
After saying that, the talented man rubbed his temples, and just to be on the safe side, he asked, "Are you sure your eyes have really grown back, and you're not just trying to comfort us?"
Rune pointed to Clark, who was stunned by the rapid plot twist: "He has X-ray vision and can see whether my eyes have regenerated or not."
Immediately, everyone looked at Clark. Clark finally reacted, looked at Rune carefully, and then his face turned red as he stammered, "Yes, Rune's eyes have regenerated."
Oh no, it's out!
Clark felt a pang of sorrow in his heart. When Rune mentioned that his eye was injured, he was so anxious that he forgot he had X-ray vision!
Wolverine punched Rune hard in the chest, snorted, and then left.
Tony didn't seem to care that Clark forgot to use his X-ray vision. He just rolled his eyes and said, "Let's go! Let's celebrate for our great hero! Damn, I was just thinking about how to use nanobots to restore your eyesight!"
Although this apocalypse has passed, not all places are so happy—at least not Asgard.
As dusk fell, crimson-gold light streamed through the towering pillars of the Asgardian palace, casting dappled shadows before Odin's throne. The Allfather sat alone on his throne, his single eye gazing into the distance, observing everything unfolding in Midgard. Just as he was about to rejoice, a voice rang out, and Odin's expression instantly turned icy.
"Father! Why?" The speaker was blond, handsome and strong, but his face was full of anger. "Thor, you're grounded." Odin didn't even want to turn around. He knew what Thor was asking. The god of thunder was angry that he was preventing him from fighting alongside those Midgards, but his short-sighted son didn't understand what was happening in the entire multiverse right now, and he didn't bother to explain to Thor.
Look at what Thor has done to Asgard in the short time he was dead!
Odin got angry just thinking about it.
Upon hearing this, Thor froze on the spot: "What?"
Odin turned and looked coldly at his son: "You are not allowed to go anywhere during this time. I have already given Heimdall the order that even if you escape, he will teleport you back."
His gaze shifted, and he saw another handsome man with dark hair standing behind Thor, so Odin added, "Loki, you too."
Thor shook his head incredulously: "Father, are you crazy? That's hundreds of millions—"
"But you are my sons!" Odin suddenly roared, his voice shattering the surrounding stained-glass windows. "I cannot send you to your death!"
Thor's face contorted with rage: "So, you want me to hide here like a pedant? To watch those innocent lives and my friends die?"
Odin coldly looked at Thor: "This is an order. Guards, take Thor away!"
In an instant, twelve Asgardian warriors appeared in the hall. Thor recognized three of them quite well, which is why he stared wide-eyed and asked incredulously, "Fandar, Hogan, and Volstagg?"
"I'm sorry," the eldest of the Vostags bowed to Thor, "you are my friend and the future ruler, we cannot allow you to continue your antics."
Hogan and Fandral nodded in agreement. Thor looked at his father, knowing that this was Odin's wisdom.
Ordinary Asgardian soldiers cannot stop Thor, but his friends, the Warriors Three, can.
