Chapter 250 Rune is here, and Earth will be at peace!
The heroes were exhausted from the long battle. Iron Man's armor had developed several irreparable cracks, and Red Hulk and Hulk were panting heavily. The others were even worse off. The departure of Spider-Man and the other heroes made the situation even worse. The endlessly resurrecting monsters were constantly draining their strength, and the scales of victory were tilting ever closer to the cancerous universe—until Rune appeared.
Stark, flying through the sky, was the first to spot Rune's arrival. The aerial view was wide enough, and the blue light from the portal stood out starkly against the backdrop of blood-red carnage. Seeing Rune's arrival, Stark breathed a sigh of relief. He shouted to everyone, "Don't worry, Rune's here!"
Perhaps because Rune led everyone to defeat Red Berserker last time, many heroes present had great faith in him.
Therefore, this sentence excited many people present.
The great serpent naturally saw this as well. He knew what level of power Rune was, and with him around, the situation would definitely be much better.
Marvel noticed the serpent's feelings, but he didn't quite understand them.
"Why would one person make you so happy?" Marvel frowned. Their only fear was the embodiment of death in each universe. In most universes, this embodiment was usually Thanos, Deadpool, or...
Hela and the others appeared, but what about Rune in front of them?
Marvel had never even met him.
"Just watch, he'll surprise you." The giant snake sneered, continuing to brandish his weapon, again and again.
He relentlessly attacked Marvel, and at this point, the swordsman began to function as a support for Orochi. He used his heat ray and freezing breath to thwart Marvel's attempts and increase Orochi's accuracy.
At this moment, Rune waved to the others, indicating that he had arrived, and casually tossed out a Fiendish Curse.
Against these beings with extremely strong regenerative abilities, the Fiendfire Curse is an absolutely terrifying and targeted spell. Once released,
Rune doesn't even need to be infused with magic anymore; Fiendfire will grow stronger on its own using any flammable material. Therefore, it is practically the exclusive torture device of the cancerous universe. Most importantly, under the will of the rune, it can distinguish between friend and foe.
Generally speaking, Fiendfire usually takes the form of a beast or demonic flame, but in the Cancer Universe, when they come into contact with their fuel, Fiendfire undergoes a dramatic change. It begins to grow fleshy tendrils, eyeballs, and sharp cones. Under the influence of the Horned Ones, it even takes on a bizarre form that is somewhere between fire and a living being.
A sharp scream rang out, and flames began to engulf everything in their path.
"Hey!" Tony shouted worriedly, "There are friendly forces down there!"
"My spell can distinguish friend from foe," Rune said, connecting with everyone telepathically. "Don't worry about the fire."
Medusa immediately changed her strategy. After confirming that the Fiendfire wouldn't harm her, she parted a section of her hair and threw the charred, twisted monsters into a spot yet to be ignited. Seeing this, Black Bolt tentatively spoke in the direction of the Fiendfire. The resulting sound wave instantly propelled the Fiendfire even further away.
Wherever the Fiendfire passed, the already mutated buildings, streets, and twisted objects were ignited. They began to frantically try to save themselves—some creatures started secreting acid, attempting to extinguish the Fiendfire, but the Fiendfire itself was not simply fire.
They cannot be extinguished with water, so these creatures meet a terrible end; they can only scream for relief, but it is all in vain.
It's ironic that death itself is already dead, while other creatures have lost the ability to die.
Some creatures, witnessing such a horrific scene, choose to abandon their own burning portion. They use their teeth, claws, and bone spikes to cut away the burning flesh, and as long as some remains, the flesh can naturally regrow.
This was effective, but it only bought them a short time in the face of the ever-spreading fire. Soon, they were trapped in the inferno in despair.
The first fallen heroes to be completely ignited were Ant-Man and the Wasp. The monsters that kept being born under Ant-Man were already imperfect products, and one couldn't expect them to have high intelligence. After being ignited by Fiendfire, these monsters began to flee in all directions under the urging of pain. The first to be harmed by them were naturally Ant-Man and the Wasp, who were closest to them.
"No...—you bunch of idiots—no... Ahh ...
As for Ant-Man, he couldn't even speak. The flames penetrated deep into his body, and a bright orange light emanated from within him. His exterior was charred and cracked under the high temperature, and one or two teeth could be vaguely seen peeking out from the cracks in his skin.
Mr. Fantastic pursed his lips, overcoming his inner pity, and instead threw the corrupted creatures, writhing in agony from the burning pain, into other areas, allowing them to infect more of their kind.
Other heroes and villains followed suit, and through their combined efforts, the entire cancerous universe Earth was soon engulfed in a sea of blood and fire.
Rune even used shapeshifting magic to create countless "Plague Golems" made of flames and flesh. These spider-like golems, charred and cracked on the outside but spewing an inextinguishable raging fire within, moved with incredible speed. They could even simultaneously spew eight pillars of fire from their abdomens. To the creatures of the cancerous universe, nothing was more malevolent than these Plague Golems.
The League of Vendetta, the E.X. Men, and the Fantastic Four who were afflicted with even a little bit of this terrible black magic were all struck down by the endless pain it brought, rendering them unable to fight.
While Marvel was engaged in a fierce sword fight with the giant serpent high in the sky, he could naturally see the carnage on the ground. At first, he wanted to mock Rune for adding fire damage to the creations of the multi-horned, but it turned out that the other party's fire could disable friendly fire. Who could he complain to?
Seeing himself on the verge of defeat, Mar-Vell instantly lost his composure. This despicable and shameless Kree traitor immediately unleashed the cosmic energy within him, and Doctor Doom teleported to the sides of Blademaster and Orochi in turn, moving these two powerful figures to a safe location.
Even after being greatly enhanced by the energy of fear, Orochi still couldn't completely ignore the attack of cosmic energy, let alone the swordsman whose confidence had declined. However, the Destruction Master's superb teleportation technique allowed these two powerful figures to avoid Marvel's desperate act without injury.
"Hmm?" The giant serpent raised an eyebrow. Generally speaking, Asgardians, especially old-school Asgardians like the giant serpent, were...
He had always looked down on mages like Dr. Doom, but Dr. Doom's performance just now had made him somewhat impressed.
"Would you like to become my subordinate?" The giant serpent offered, "Join me, and I guarantee you'll survive this multiverse catastrophe!"
