Chapter 193 The bald guy actually wants to turn Superman into an ancestor, doesn't he want to live?

When Rune returned to the farm, he saw Jonathan and Steve chatting happily, which was reasonable. After all, one had raised Superman and the other was a hero himself, so it was normal for them to get along well.

Rune greeted Jonathan and the others before returning to his workshop. These past few days had been incredibly busy, not just for the Marvel Cinematic Universe team. He'd used his connections to find Scarlet Woman a place to stay near his farm—that was relatively simple, since money could buy anything. But there were many more complex matters, such as magical exchanges with Kamar-Taj, invitations from prominent organizations like the Brotherhood and the Inhumans, and so on.

This is probably the privilege of the strong. Ever since Rune led the heroes to defeat Thanos, he's become highly sought after by various organizations. S.H.I.E.L.D. and the X-Men even hoped to invite him to join, but he politely declined. First of all, Rune knows very well that he is not a mutant.

"It's Clark," Rune said confidently to Jonathan. Jonathan's expression immediately turned serious. Like Rune, he didn't want Clark to play with Luther either. However, unlike Rune, Jonathan didn't want Clark to play with Luther because, well, to put it bluntly, Jonathan discriminated against Luther's family.

In his view, capitalists like Luther were the root of America's decadence. The chemical plant in town was owned by Luther's father, and it always reeked of pungent chemicals; the river was blackened by the plant's illegal discharges. He certainly sympathized with those working at the plant, but Jonathan still hoped it would go out of business.

"My God, you have no idea, many farms around here have experienced reduced yields, and quite a few cattle and sheep have died from drinking contaminated water," Jonathan said to Steve. Clark clearly heard him, and the rock music outside the door stopped abruptly.

Rune pointed towards the door, Jonathan nodded, and then Rune went out.

"Hey, where are you going?" Rune waved at Clark. Clark was now covered in chains and skulls, looking like—no, he was now a gothic biker. Look, there's a motorcycle behind him!

"I'm going to live somewhere where you don't exist!" Clark was clearly angry. "At least, I want to go somewhere that needs me, not stay here!"

He continued muttering, "Dad is always yelling about what I can't do, what I can't do, and he even restricts how many friends I make, but hey!"

Rune sighed. Clearly, Clark and Jonathan had a long-standing grudge, and Clark, now in his rebellious phase, completely failed to understand Jonathan's good intentions. Even though Rune had discussed this issue with him before, Clark still believed that Jonathan had been restricting him, and that Rune was an accomplice.

"You want to go out and find a place where you're needed to show off, right?" Rune asked Clark, who was twisting the handlebars of his motorcycle.

"Of course!" Clark said matter-of-factly. "What future do you think I have on this farm or in this town?"

Luther told me long ago that if I was willing to work with him, he would make me unique battle suits, create unique trademarks, and build brand awareness, so that I could help ordinary people and make money at the same time!

Damn it! That damn bald guy actually wants to create an ancestor? Does he have a death wish?

Suppressing his anger, Rune shouted, "Clark, don't go yet! I've found you a true superhero. He'll be your mentor and take you on missions to save the world!"

Clark then dismounted from the motorcycle at lightning speed and grabbed Rune's arms. He was so excited that he used all his strength. Fortunately, Rune possessed a weakened version of Kryptonian abilities and had undergone multiple enhancements, making his physical strength surpass that of a typical Superman; otherwise, that grip would have caused comminuted fractures.

Rune rolled his eyes. This was the so-called "obedience before submission," it was laughable.

"Really!" Clark's eyes widened. He was still a young man, very handsome, with big, bright, deer-like eyes staring at Rune.

Rune nodded: "Now hurry up and come inside to see your teacher. The teacher I found for you fought against Hitler since World War II; his character is worthy of everyone's respect."

Rune meant what he said. Not everyone can honestly face the shortcomings of their country, but Steve not only acknowledged his country's shortcomings but also reflected on his own actions. For this, he was even willing to give up a secure job and return to the people.

His only problem was his unwillingness to lead the American people in that... you know. He explained this to Rune himself and apologized for it.

He said he couldn't bear to see the American people suffer massive casualties. However, Rune's real intention was simply to show Steve the problems within the US government and to prevent him from raising a Captain America with superhuman strength.

It's important to understand that the Justice League and the Avengers have different roles in their respective universes. The latter is more like a special forces unit supported by the United Nations. Since the United Nations is currently headed by the United States, the Avengers naturally lean more towards the United States.

However, the Justice League is different. Strictly speaking, this organization does not belong to any country or group; it is a neutral and powerful group, and the first line of defense for Earth against threats from within Earth, from outer space, from other dimensions, and from supernatural forces. Its independence led the United States to fundamentally distrust the Justice League and instead form its own Justice League of America.

Therefore, Rune would absolutely not allow a human god with national leanings to appear in a neutral organization.

"Also, I must mention something," Rune reminded Clark as they walked, "your teacher comes from another dimension."

And the "tutoring class" you're about to attend will also be in another dimension.

Clark's eyes widened.

"Yay!"
