Hogwarts: Don't call me the Staff Maker
Chapter 757 Lupin in Transformation
Chapter 757 Lupin in Transformation
After learning that the Death Eaters had taken over the Leaky Cauldron, Celen decided not to return to the wand shop.
Although there is more than one entrance to Diagon Alley, and there are also internal passages in Gringotts that can be used, Celen does not trust the goblins.
These greedy fellows have never been trustworthy; Siron can bribe them, and so can the Death Eaters. If the price is right, the goblins certainly won't mind ripping him off.
In addition, it's no secret that Gringotts has an internal passageway exclusively for goblins; many people know about it, especially the big clients who have high-level vaults at Gringotts.
They need to go to Gringotts frequently, sometimes several times a month, and the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron—to be honest, isn't close to Gringotts; it's quite a long walk.
At this point, a shortcut can save a lot of time, so it's quite necessary.
Among the Death Eaters, there is no shortage of members from ancient pure-blood wizarding families like Lucius Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange, who are basically Gringotts' major clients.
It's hard to say whether they had already thought of this and were waiting at the entrance in advance; Xilun didn't want to unwittingly walk into a trap.
So after receiving the news, he chose to stay at the Burrow. The Weasleys were very supportive of this decision and added two rooms on the third floor to serve as bedrooms for Siron and Harry.
As for Hermione, she seemed to prefer sharing a room with Ginny, so that they could brainstorm ideas for the upcoming wedding together that evening—Tonks and Lupin's wedding.
This is one of the few things to be happy about recently; even Voldemort couldn't stop everyone's enthusiasm.
Lupin and Tonks didn't want to take up everyone's time, and repeatedly said that the simpler the wedding, the better, to which everyone readily agreed.
But starting yesterday, Mrs. Weasley began to decorate the Burrow with great care. Even the ghoul that had been hiding in the attic was dragged out this morning, cleaned, and dressed in a decent outfit—Mr. Weasley's old robe, which was at least decent, since it had no patches.
"Hurry, Ginny, the ribbons are in that box over there—Hermione, darling, I need some mistletoe and holly; Fred just got some."
"Here you are, Mrs. Weasley." Hermione came running up, panting, carrying a box.
"Sirius, how's the band going?"
"This is a bit of a hassle, Molly." Sirius, dressed in a brand-new brown suit, seemed a little uncomfortable and subconsciously tugged at the bow tie around his neck.
"You know, in this situation, nobody wants to risk going out to work. What's more, we need to make sure they haven't joined the Death Eaters, so our options are even fewer."
"Hurry, Sirius, it would be terrible if there was no music at the wedding."
"I'm planning to go to Hogwarts to borrow those portraits of people playing musical instruments from Minerva."
"Bill, have you finished compiling the guest list?"
"Right away, Mom!"
"Ron, where are you! I don't want to see a goblin in the garden when the wedding starts!"
"I'll go right now!"
The people in the Burrow were busy as spinning tops, and even Sherren and Harry were sent to the garden outside to help Ron clear out the goblins.
Mrs. Weasley had only one requirement: the garden had to be spotless, at least until the wedding was over.
That's easy. Xilun used a freezing spell to lock all the goblins in a cage, planning to release them back the next day.
Strictly speaking, the goblin is a garden pest that often steals potatoes and cabbages grown in gardens.
However, the Weasleys did not intend to kill them completely like they would other pests; most of the time, they simply threw them far away.
However, the goblins will find it soon enough this way, so it's safer to keep them locked up.
-
The process is also very simple. Goblins are particularly stupid; they will run out of their burrows to see what's going on as soon as there is any noise, making them very easy to catch.
Later, Lupin came out to help, and only half an hour had passed by the time they stuffed the last stiff goblin into the cage.
"Is that all?" Lupin asked.
Xilun squeezed the rubber duck in his hand, making a creaking sound.
After waiting for a while, not a single goblin appeared in the garden.
"There shouldn't be any left," Siren said.
"Thanks."
"No need," Hillen waved his hand with a smile. "This little bit of work is nothing. You should thank Mrs. Weasley; she's the busiest one."
"That's true." Lupin nodded, then quickly shook his head. "But that's not what I wanted to say."
"Um?"
"Actually, Tonks had said he wanted to marry me a long time ago, and more than once, but I refused each time."
""
"Oh, why?" Harry peeked out from the side, asking in confusion, "Don't you like Tonks?"
"I, I really like it—" Lupin's face flushed slightly.
"Then why did you refuse?" Harry was even more confused.
"Because of my identity."
"What is your identity?"
"It must be a werewolf," Xilun said softly.
"That's right, it's a werewolf," Lupin said calmly.
"No one knows better than me how difficult it is for a werewolf to live a normal life." He looked at the distant mountain peaks, as if recalling something.
"Tonks is the complete opposite of me. She's brilliant, a natural-born shapeshifter, and joined the Auror before she even graduated. Her future is bright, and she shouldn't be stuck in this mess with me."
"Then why did you agree to it again—" Ron asked instinctively, but before he could finish speaking, he felt a kick to his shin.
Ron suddenly woke up and quickly shut his mouth.
"It's alright, you don't need to be nervous." Lu Ping chuckled, then turned his head solemnly.
"The reason I agreed to Tonks's offer was mostly because of you, Siren."
"Huh?" Xilun pointed to himself.
"I?"
"Or rather, because of this." As soon as Lupin finished speaking, he suddenly jumped up a lot, turning into a werewolf more than two meters tall, covered in gray fur.
Ron screamed in fright and nearly threw the cage he was holding.
"Wolf, werewolf—"
"But how is that possible?" Harry frowned. "It's not a full moon today, it's still broad daylight."
He looked up at the bright sun in the sky, then at the werewolf more than two meters tall in front of him. For a moment, he thought he was still asleep and that it was all a dream.
After all, everything he had learned at Hogwarts so far told him that werewolves would only transform on the night of the full moon, when the moon was at its brightest.
But today is not a full moon, and it's not even nighttime.
Did Lupin really transform in broad daylight?
