I'm a Master in India
Chapter 192 Help
The rainy season ended, and Hela returned from her vacation in Goa.
Fewer foreign tourists were in Mumbai, but the foreigners who came here for business last year would still come this year.
Hela's passport business was like this; Mumbai was never short of adventurers from all over the world.
"So, you still need me to arrange the 'bleaching' route for you this time?" Ron wrapped his arm around her bronzed shoulder, stroking it gently.
Well, Hela's originally fair skin had now been tanned brown, darker than Kavya's complexion.
"No, it's not about bleaching, that's not even a problem," Hela had eaten her fill and was now feeling lazy and didn't want to move.
"Then what is it?" Ron sniffed her golden hair lightly.
"Help me save someone."
"Huh?" Ron froze for a moment, "Save someone?"
"There's a girl, a friend of mine named Ellie. She's in big trouble, tricked into a place where call girls work. She wants to leave, but the madam won't let her go. I need to get her out."
"Okay, how much money will it take to sort it out?" Ron asked.
"No, it's not about money, I have money. But the woman who runs that place has taken a liking to Ellie, and even if we offer money, she won't let her go."
"Wait, the place you're talking about isn't the Palace, is it?" Ron suddenly reacted.
"See, you guessed it," Hela shrugged.
"Why would your friend end up in that place? Didn't you tell her how dangerous the Palace is for girls?" Ron frowned.
"It was an accident," Hela sighed.
She explained that originally, Ellie had just come to Mumbai from Switzerland to relax, as she was very unhappy with her family back home.
Not long after arriving in India, she lost her passport.
Ellie, who was focused on freedom, didn't pay much attention until her savings were running low and she started to worry about her return trip.
She went to the embassy, and they told her that getting a replacement would take at least a few months.
Ellie couldn't wait, so by chance, she inquired about Hela at the Leopold Cafe.
The two got along very well, had a great conversation, and became friends.
Hela was about to go on vacation to Goa at the time; she promised Ellie she would help her sort out the passport issue when she returned.
Instead of a fake passport, Hela said she could use her connections with the Indian government to quickly liaise with the Swiss Embassy.
That's right, Hela wanted Ron to help her back then; he already had extensive connections in Mumbai.
She also invited Ellie to go on vacation with her, but the latter decided to stay in Mumbai, worried about missing news from the embassy.
As a result, somehow, perhaps after running out of money or being deceived, Ellie went to the Palace.
"It's my fault," Hela blamed herself, "I shouldn't have left her in Mumbai."
"So the problem now is that Madam Elizabeth won't let her go?" Ron asked.
"I know what that woman is thinking, money is just an excuse. What she really wants is to destroy Ellie, destroy her little by little until there's nothing left. She hates her because Ellie is beautiful, smart, and courageous."
"How so?" Ron was getting confused.
"Ellie is from Switzerland, from a family with a noble title. She's rebellious but proud, and she won't submit to the demands of the Palace.
You know, that hellhole requires girls to be 100% compliant, otherwise they'll offend the important people who frequent the place."
The Palace was different from other red-light districts in Mumbai; it provided unparalleled service and enjoyment to its customers.
If Ellie resisted, it would mess up a lot of things. The important people who frequented the Palace were sometimes even feared by Madam Elizabeth herself.
"So Ellie is now trapped there and can't get out, but Madam Elizabeth doesn't dare to use force?"
"That's pretty much it."
"I don't understand," Ron frowned, "Why does Madam Elizabeth insist on keeping that girl?"
"A woman's jealousy, Ron, it's enough to destroy a person's reason."
Madam Elizabeth held a high position among the upper class in Mumbai, yet this couldn't make up for the trauma in her heart.
She must have suffered a lot when she was young, and the things she experienced were inhumane. The more so, the more easily it would twist her personality.
When she encountered a girl like Ellie, who grew up in a noble family, she desperately wanted to destroy the other person with her own hands.
"You want me to rescue her?"
"Not exactly."
"I mean, I do have some people..." Ron had brought over a dozen thugs from Uttar Pradesh, and he also had a few 'guitars' hidden away.
"No need, that's too risky. The thugs at the Palace have their ways of tormenting people, like throwing sulfuric acid on her face. More than one girl has been ruined because she lost Madam Elizabeth's favor; we can't take that risk. We have to make her willing to let Ellie go, without changing her mind later."
"I don't know that Madam Elizabeth well, but I heard she's very dangerous."
"That's right, which is why I'm asking for your help, Ron."
"You have a plan, I mean, how to rescue that girl?"
"It still depends on you, Ron," Hela looked at him.
"Me?" Ron's hand on Yukiko's paused.
"You're already a big shot in Mumbai, enough to make Madam Elizabeth take you seriously."
"I think I'm still a bit short," Ron's current wealth couldn't compare to the moguls at all.
"No, it's enough. I heard that even Thackeray has to give you some face."
"Uh, that was because of the bombing incident back then, there was a coincidence involved."
"But you can talk to him now, can't you? And Madam Elizabeth wouldn't dare to go head-to-head with Thackeray."
"Okay, even if what you say is true, it still won't work. You might not know, but I had a small friction with Madam Elizabeth back then..."
"I know that, of course, but that's where the opportunity lies. Madam Elizabeth will spare Ellie out of respect for you."
"How so?" Ron's eyes widened slightly.
"She has to compensate you, apologize for her impudence back then," Hela curled the corner of her mouth.
"Oh! Because I've become a big shot, enough to be on equal footing with her," Ron suddenly understood.
"Yes, exactly!"
Ron was no longer the nobody who could be easily pushed around. He had money, reputation, and his strength was rapidly expanding.
No one could easily touch him, and even Had Khan was becoming more polite to him.
Ron only needed to manage things well for a few more years, and it would be hard to say who should be cautious of whom between him and Madam Elizabeth.
"Are you sure this plan will work?"
"I think it's fine, I can't find a better way."
"Although I've been to the Palace once, I've never dealt with Madam Elizabeth. I mean, if I mess up, will something happen to that girl, or..."
"Ellie is my friend, the idea is mine, and I'll take responsibility."
"Alright, I can't think of another time when owing Elizabeth a favor would be useful," Ron shrugged.
He had no business dealings with that Madam, and when he went to the Palace to entertain government officials, he usually didn't have to go himself.
He was too lazy to deal with such a person; if he could help Hela out, meeting her wouldn't hurt.
If this favor truly existed, why wait to use it now?
"Thank you, Ron!" Hela got up and took the initiative.
Alas, Ron the 'Sea King' wasn't entirely freeloading.
See, the 'grass by the nest' around him had, more or less, benefited from him.
Ahem, except for Urmila, she was too easy to fool.
Ron and Hela agreed to meet Madam Elizabeth in two days, during which time she would arrange Ellie's escape route.
After eating seafood, Ron started to miss millet porridge like Urmila's again.
Pure and simple was also quite good.
Since the release of "Worship of the Difficult Mother," Urmila had managed to reverse her decline in Bollywood.
Since entering the industry in '91, she had made several films, most of which were box office disasters, with only one making a profit.
Even a child star couldn't withstand that; the little girl was almost driven to tears.
Fortunately, Ron's appearance timely saved her rapidly collapsing reputation.
"Worship of the Difficult Mother" was a low-budget film, true, but the box office was real.
News came from Rajasthan and Bihar that the first-week box office revenue in these two places combined had already exceeded ten million rupees.
Including Uttar Pradesh, the total box office revenue of "Worship of the Difficult Mother" had exceeded thirty million, ten times the investment cost.
It had become a representative work in Urmila's acting career, although it was a low-budget film.
"Lately, I've been receiving some strange scripts," she complained in her tone.
"Not the roles you like?" Ron asked.
"Not at all, you'll know by listening to the titles, 'Thirsty Soul,' 'Burning Body'..."
Ron laughed heartily; just by the titles, they sounded very improper.
"It's all your fault!" Urmila was almost crying with anger; if she only got approached for such movies in the future, it would be terrible.
"Don't worry, I've already called Director Dutt," Ron comforted her.
"Ha," Urmila suddenly burst into laughter, "I've already received calls from Director Shiromani and Director Ali."
"That's more like it, but you actually dared to tease me," Ron began to severely punish her.
After getting in touch with old Dutt last time, Ron briefly mentioned Urmila and Manisha.
Old Dutt understood immediately; such a matter was insignificant to him.
Isn't it right to use connections for your women? Existing connections, might as well use them.
Urmila had accepted two films for next year, and Manisha had even started working.
Speaking of which, he hadn't had time to go to her place recently. Well, he would go after Hela's matter was resolved.
Among the several women, Ron liked coming to Urmila's place the most.
Nothing else, just obedient and tight.
Urmila's skin was very fair, not the kind of fairness Mary and the others had; hers was delicate and warm.
It perfectly matched the aesthetic of Easterners, and Ron couldn't get enough of it.
"I have a movie coming out next month, can you come to the premiere?" she asked.
"Movie? Didn't you just finish filming 'Difficult Mother'?"
"I filmed it at the beginning of the year, the investment exceeded seventeen million rupees, you know," Urmila was very proud; this was her third film this year.
"Okay, I'll make time."
Ring, ring, the phone call interrupted Ron.
Urmila gestured for him to be quiet; this was her apartment.
She picked up the phone, said a couple of sentences, then turned her head with a strange look.
"Ms. Mary is looking for you."
Ron's gaze was calm, and he took the phone with full confidence.
"Ron, I heard you're going to the Palace?"
"Uh, yes, how did you know?"
"We need to meet," Mary's tone was very firm.
