Hogwarts: I will not become the Dark Lord

#143 - I am such a good person!

In front of Hagrid's hut, a car moving at breakneck speed burst out of the bushes and screeched to a halt in the clearing.

The inertia almost sent Harry and the others crashing into the windshield. Fang couldn't wait to get out of the car window. As soon as Harry opened the door, he darted through the bushes, tail between his legs, and rushed towards Hagrid's hut.

After Harry got out of the car, Neville followed, his legs like jelly, trembling as he dismounted. About a minute later, Ron's limbs seemed to regain sensation. He slowly got out of the car, but his neck remained stiff, his eyes glazed.

Harry patted the car gratefully as it turned around and sped back into the woods, gradually disappearing from sight.

Fang was trembling under a blanket in his basket, clearly terrified. Ron, on the other hand, was vomiting miserably in the pumpkin patch.

"Those spiders," Ron said weakly, wiping his mouth with his sleeve, "I'll never forgive Hagrid. We're lucky to be alive."

"You guys actually went to the Forbidden Forest? Where's Jerry? How come I didn't see him!"

The sudden voice startled the already tense trio. Only then did they notice Hermione, wearing a thick coat, sitting on the steps in front of Hagrid's hut.

"When did you get here?" Harry and the others patted their chests, sighed in relief after seeing it was Hermione. Their legs went weak, and they slumped down on the stone ground.

"Do you three think you can hide things from me as long as Jerry doesn't tell me? Where's Jerry?" Hermione raised her head slightly, a hint of disdain in her eyes.

"Jerry, he... he must be in his dorm! It's just the three of us tonight." Harry felt a little embarrassed and smiled. Jerry had specifically told them during the day not to tell Hermione about tonight's events. On second thought, they also felt it was better not to tell Hermione, because if she knew, she would definitely object.

"Heh! Do you think I'm as easily fooled as you are? Harry, didn't you notice Neville lowered his head and didn't dare to look at me when I asked about Jerry!" Hermione looked at Harry, who was glancing around, and stood up on the steps, looking down at the three of them, her tone cold.

The three looked up at Hermione, standing on the high steps with a serious expression. Her aura made them feel a little intimidated. They felt like they were facing Professor McGonagall, not a classmate.

"Jerry, he... he's still in the Forbidden Forest. We ran into Acromantulas, and Jerry stayed behind to cover our retreat..." Under the "stern" gaze of Hermione, Harry finally couldn't withstand the pressure and couldn't help but tell her about their encounter in the Forbidden Forest.

"How could you leave Jerry alone in the Forbidden Forest to deal with Acromantulas? It's too dangerous! I have to go find him!"

Hearing this, Harry and the others quickly tried to stop her. They had barely escaped with the Weasley's magical car.

"Where do you think you're going?"

A voice, clear and bright like a spring, yet with an untainted calmness, echoed in the deep darkness. Everyone immediately looked towards the voice, only to see a mysterious and eerie black figure standing quietly under the trees.

Although they couldn't see the person's identity clearly, the pair of scarlet eyes evoked the pain and fear in their hearts, bringing them into the shadows, and making them feel an unspeakable horror and unease.

Neville was so frightened that his legs went weak, and he leaned weakly against the wall before finally fainting.

The others retreated, their faces filled with panic, their eyes full of the desire to escape this place. Even Hermione was pale and couldn't hide her terrified expression.

"What's wrong with you all? Can't you even recognize my voice?" Jerry looked at them speechlessly, wondering why they were acting like they had seen him commit murder!

By the dim light outside Hagrid's hut, Hermione finally saw the person walking towards them.

"Jerry? Great, you're okay!" She called out tentatively. After confirming that it was indeed Jerry, the weight in Hermione's heart finally lifted. She ran happily to Jerry, put her arms around his neck, and hugged him tightly, reluctant to let go for a long time.

"Jerry, are you hurt!" Hermione suddenly asked worriedly, quickly letting go of Jerry. Her eyes carefully scanned Jerry's body, and her hands gently felt around him.

"What could happen to me?" Jerry shrugged easily and smiled, saying that the Acromantulas were just enough for him to warm up. Only the first Apostle didn't fight fair and ambushed him from behind, making him a little embarrassed, with only some abrasions on his arms and face.

Hermione took out her handkerchief and, with light and gentle movements, carefully cleaned and bandaged Jerry's abrasions. Then, she meticulously tidied his messy clothes, doing everything in an orderly manner, muttering softly, complaining slightly that Jerry hadn't taken her with him to the Forbidden Forest.

"Jer...ry, it's good that you're okay!"

Jerry looked at Harry and Ron, who were several meters away from him and Hermione, and Neville, who was leaning against the wall, and asked in confusion, "What's wrong with you guys? Were you injured just now? And Neville, how can you fall asleep in a place like this?"

Harry, Ron: "..."

Before Harry and Ron could speak, Hermione gently tugged at Jerry's sleeve, handed him a small, round mirror that she usually used, and whispered in Jerry's ear to remind him about his eyes.

"Merlin's pants!"

Jerry was startled by his reflection in the mirror. How could his eyes be so... "bright"!

"Are you really okay? Should we go see Madam Pomfrey?"

Jerry looked at Hermione, who was a little pale, and shook his head. Looking at the familiar light emanating from his eyes in the mirror, he was thoughtful.

Although Jerry couldn't be sure of the specific reason yet, he was sure that the change in his eyes was inseparable from the Patronus Charm.

From the first time he summoned the Raven Patronus, Jerry and Professor Flitwick noticed its uniqueness. Its eyes were almost the same as Jerry's now, emitting a cold, ominous light.

As the level of the Patronus Charm increased, besides the summoned Patronus becoming more and more powerful, Jerry hadn't discovered any differences between his strange Patronus and other people's Patronuses.

Later, by chance, Jerry noticed that his eyes would always change whenever he used magic to its full potential. But the intense red light like tonight was unprecedented.

"It's just glowing, why are you so scared?" Jerry looked at them and asked curiously. After all, compared to the various bizarre and flashy operations in the magical world, this wasn't a big deal, right!

"I, I don't know, looking at your eyes now, I always feel uncomfortable and uneasy!" Harry swallowed and lowered his head, avoiding Jerry's gaze.

Ron nodded, his eyes darting around.

"Jerry, I feel that way too," Hermione agreed with Harry. "It feels... uneasy, oppressive, making people think of terrifying things!"

No wonder Flitwick left in such a hurry just now! It seems he was also affected. Jerry thought to himself.

"It's getting late tonight, let's all go back to our dorms first!"

As soon as Jerry finished speaking, Harry and Ron immediately helped Neville up, took three steps at a time, and quickly left the place.

"Am I that scary?" Jerry looked at the backs of Harry and the others as they fled, feeling very depressed.

Don't be afraid! I'm a good person!
