Hogwarts: I will not become the Dark Lord
#123 - Where's the magic wand? Use it!
“Hurry up, Jerry, let's go ahead and take another break!”
Thanks to Snape's magical potion, the cat ears on Hermione's head were the only part of her that hadn't returned to normal; the rest of the transformation was completely reversed.
This made it impossible for her to endure the stuffiness of the hospital wing any longer.
So, Hermione eagerly dragged Jerry along to Hogsmeade Village while the holidays were still on.
Last night, a sudden blizzard draped Hogsmeade in a blanket of white snow, as if the entire village had been sprinkled with a layer of silver by magic.
Hermione and Jerry stepped through the snow, slowly walking into this fairytale-like world. Their exhaled breath turned into wisps of white smoke in the cold air, intertwining with the falling snowflakes.
The shops on both sides of the street still retained the elaborate Christmas decorations from a few days ago. Colored lights twinkled, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere, while the warm air from the restaurants, mixed with the sweet smell of gingerbread, wafted towards them.
“Your hat!” Jerry reminded softly, his gaze fixed on Hermione, who was intently staring at the shop window.
“Jerry, this hat is too big! Couldn't you find a smaller one!” Hermione reluctantly picked up the hat and put it back on.
“Stop complaining. I deliberately found a big hat. Besides covering your ears, it can also prevent you from being discovered by the professors who come here! Don't forget we're only in our second year! Even if it's still the holidays now!”
“No wonder you put on your hood too, dressed up like a dark wizard!” Hermione muttered quietly.
The two of them strolled through the streets of Hogsmeade, stopping and going. With just a few shops, Jerry was forced to accompany Hermione for an entire afternoon!
Finally, as evening approached, Jerry and Hermione arrived at Dervish and Banges at the end of the street.
This was a magical equipment shop that also sold repair tools, offering various magical gadgets and devices.
“Jerry, look at this!” Hermione picked up a uniquely designed eyeglass frame from the counter, shaped like a colorful owl's eyes, and gently put it on her face.
“Those are Spectrespecs!”
A clear voice came from a seat in the corner. Only then did Jerry and Hermione realize that there was another girl in the shop, about their age, with gray eyes and golden-brown hair.
“It's Luna Lovegood, the 'Loony' from Ravenclaw!” Hermione whispered to Jerry.
Luna Lovegood, huh! Jerry thought to himself.
Although he had almost forgotten the plot of the original book, he could still remember a few characters' names!
“Are you Jerry Green?” Luna asked, taking a pair of Spectrespecs out of her pocket and looking at Jerry, who had completely covered his face with his hood, as the two whispered to each other.
Hearing this, Hermione carefully examined Jerry's attire and then asked in confusion, “How did you recognize Jerry? He's covered up so tightly!”
“Because he's special. Jerry Green, you're the only person I've ever seen that the Wrackspurts are afraid of! Those little fellows will hide from you!”
“What are you talking about? Wrackspurts?”
“Wrackspurts… they're invisible. They float in through your ears and make your brain go fuzzy.”
Hermione looked at Luna blankly, completely not understanding what she was talking about!
“The… Wrackspurts you're talking about, do they really exist?”
“Of course!” Luna pointed to a customer not far away and said, “There's a Wrackspurt flying by his ear.”
Following Luna's instructions, Hermione put on the Spectrespecs and looked in the direction she was pointing, but she didn't see anything. Then she took off the glasses and handed them to Jerry.
After a while, Jerry, wearing the Spectrespecs, also shook his head.
“There's a reason the Ravenclaw students call her 'Loony'!” Hermione looked at Luna and then whispered in Jerry's ear.
“You just said Wrackspurts… are hiding from me?”
Jerry asked curiously. He didn't think that the 'Loony' would be sorted into Ravenclaw!
“Yes, as for the reason, I don't know! I've never seen them so afraid of a person! Since you entered the shop, there are a lot fewer Wrackspurts here!”
“She really is a 'Loony'. Jerry, you don't really believe what she said, do you!” Hermione asked, looking at Jerry, who was lost in thought.
“No!” Jerry shook his head, smiled helplessly, and stopped thinking about what Luna had just said. After all, whatever happened to him, no matter how weird, he now found it normal.
What are Wrackspurts! Do you know what a Horcrux is? The last time Jerry saw Voldemort's Horcrux, he almost couldn't help but devour it!
What normal person would react like that when seeing a Horcrux!
… …
“Were those two people your classmates just now?” Xenophilius Lovegood asked, looking at Luna, who didn't know what she was thinking.
“Yes, Dad! That boy is the one I told you about, the one the Wrackspurts hide from!”
“Luna, stay away from him in the future. If the Wrackspurts are hiding from him, he must not be a good person!”
“I know, Dad!”
… …
In the following weeks, Jerry happily took Hermione all over the area around Hogwarts, and even boldly broke into the Forbidden Forest. However, they didn't go deep into it, because the centaurs discovered their intrusion and unceremoniously drove them out of the forest, and also notified Professor Snape.
Fortunately, there was Harry. He truly deserved to be the "Savior"; he was so damn timely!
Snape was just about to deal with Jerry and Hermione's matter when he was called away because Harry and Malfoy had caused an even bigger commotion!
Ever since Malfoy discovered that Harry and his friends didn't play fair and ambushed Goyle and Crabbe, he often brought them along to follow Harry, wanting to find an opportunity to teach Harry and Ron a lesson.
Today, he finally found an opportunity. By the time everyone arrived, the two sides were already "in the thick of it."
“Everyone, stop!” Snape shouted anxiously, but obviously, the few of them were all worked up and had no intention of stopping.
Jerry stood aside, also getting anxious watching.
Where are the wands! Where are the wands! Use them!
Why are you only using fists and feet! What does that mean, are you looking down on Madam Pomfrey's medical skills?
In the end, Snape could only use a spell to separate the few people, who were already bruised and swollen, and then took them back to his office with a livid face.
