Nothing could satisfy the warrior blood in his body more than the vanity of achieving a glorious victory on a stage in front of hundreds.

Lucius wanted to stay there and fight forever, revelling in the glory of endless victory.

But even if there were more enemies for Lucius to fight, there was no way his body could support it.

Maybe it was because Dragon Berserk was something that was specifically designed for the protagonist from its very  conception but the side effects of the incomplete dragon berserk were no joke

Lucius underestimated the effects of the lack of the heroes Saint of Light talent

Without this talent, the dragon breaker talent lacked the stabilising factor to make it age

Without it, the two powerful bloodlines were constantly fighting in his body and when he entered the dragon berserk state, it only got worse.

As a result whenever he entered the dragon berserk state the strain on his body would be immense and the drain he felt after would be multiple times higher than that of a barbarian rage state.

His body was that of a mere third class  fighter simply couldn't support it for that long

Lucius couldn't bear it anymore and deactivated Dragon berserk, silently watching as his electric scales slowly faded into his body.

With the removal of the berserk state the after effects came rushing towards him all at once and for Lucius it felt like he was hit by a sack of bricks.

To make the matters worse the damage he had received form the earlier bombardment of fire arrows was till around being added onto this. The terrifying drain of his Dragon Berserk state had drained all his physical strength and mana.

Lucius just let off a light groan as his world spun and he suddenly fell over.

"Lucius!"

As he was falling Lucius just heard the desperate cry of several women as Lucius could see Veronica, Camilla and Alice all rushing towards him but by now he was so tired he could barely even react and by the time they got to his side there figures were all blurry

As he lay on the floor he could see all of their mouths moving but strangely he couldn't hear a single word as his consciousness grew hazier and hazier

By now Lucius wasn't  even thinking straight.

'In the last moments I'm actually surrounded by three beauties…

I really am a winner in this life…'

That was Lucius last thought before his mind faded into unconsciousness.

…..

After a unknown amount of time

A body in a medical bed suddenly  lurched forwards as a shocked pair of crimson eyes stared at the unfamiliar ceiling above him.

"I really ended up passing out in the end."

Lucius moved to got up and groaned

'Fuck! The after effects are still there Huh?'

But before Lucius could even move, he suddenly heard the shocked gasp near him.

"Y-Young leader.."

Looking in the direction of the sound he could see Camilla looking at him with a joyful look.

As Camilla saw Lucius wake  up again tears of relief and joy couldn't help but fall from her eyes.

"Young Leader,  it's good to have you back."

Looking at the usually stalwart and calm, Camilla actually crying  Lucius couldn't help but feel a little bad

'Why is everyone around me crying so often of late? Well… then again, it's all my fault at the end of the day…'

Poor old Camilla had really not had a good time these past few days of Lucius's unconsciousness.

Lucius was surprised to see her crying but that was because he didn't understand the full picture .

Like it had been said many times before, for this mission Camilla was not only Lucius's assistant but his personal guard. She was there to help Lucius in his 'weakened' state so the fact that she had just stood there and watched their helplessly as a Lucius was brutally beaten

The failure to help the leader of the revolutionary army was the same as her being a useless waste of space.

Remember,  Camilla was one of the children raised by the revolutionary army that had been brainwashed to the point she was devoted as one would be to a cult! For her, failure to protect the leader  was the same as devout believers committing blasphemy!

That was not to mention the chaos that a injury to the Lucius would do to the overall structure of the revolutionary army that was filled with internal strife

She didn't even dare send a message back to the loyal Albert  for  fear that  the crazy old man would break down the walls of the academy and force his way in.

Don't Underestimate  the ridiculousness and loyalty of that reckless old man.

If he felt like Lucius's life was in danger, Camilla was certain that Albert  would break down the imperial gates and be able to rescue him from under the gaze of Grand Master rank fighters.

Hell, he would even fight Heroic and Saint rank fighters for Lucius's sake.

The joy she felt was not just the joy of seeing a person she loved come back hit the joy of an assistant that had managed to save her head.

Looking at it like this, it was understandable how even the usually stern Camilla could have a slight breakdown.

Lucius just chuckled at Camilla's appearance as he commented.

"Did me passing out really scare you that much?"

Hearing Lucius still speak in a frivolous tone, Camilla's face twitched in annoyance

Before the fight with Louis, Lucius had  promised that he could handle Louis and not to worry about everything yet that ' handling' had still left him bed-bound

"Young Leader, I don't think you know the extent of your injuries.

The doctor described what happened to your body as if your body was being hit by a hammer constantly until several bones all throughout your body  fractured.

They said you should thank the gods that your body showed abnormal resistance to the fire element or if the extra damage was added onto the explosion damage you could have really died."
