Harry Potter Raven's Claw

Chapter 487: The Disobedient Dumbledore

"You are good, respected master."

The respectful voice of Queen Ant Lilith rang in Mike's mind.

As the queen ant who has lived in the deep underground for many years, Lilith does not have so much scheming, this is the true feelings in her heart.

When she first signed a contract with Mike, Lilith thought that a new round of tragic life was coming again. After all, humans were like this kind of greedy and cruel creature in her impression.

But what happened later surprised her.

Although the employees of Los Santo Group sent by Mike were essentially no different from the original Avery family, they were all trying their best to let the ants work.

But the Los Santo Group is much more generous than the Every family. They will never withhold the ants' rations, nor will they abuse and kill the ants at will!

Of course, the employees of Los Santo Group did not give the ants too much preferential treatment, but this was enough.

People who have never been treated with gentleness are always easy to satisfy. This is the case with the queen of ant now.

"Lilith, I need your help."

"As you wish, my master, all my soldiers have been sent to the target area."

Lilith's tone was filled with joy. She was happy to help Mike. She didn't care much about her own people being driven by Mike as cannon fodder.

This is not to say that she does not love her children, on the contrary, she loves her children to the core, but these children come too easily, and fighting for Mike, the master who treats her kindness is a legitimate reason, so she is so indifferent.

This kind of idea cannot be understood by humans, but it is reasonable among ants.

After saying goodbye to Queen Lilith, Mike finally arrived at the combat site carefully selected by Benjamin and others, a closed valley in U shape.

While Mike was visiting the Avery Secret Land, Franklin, who stayed in Hogwarts, had already completed his mission and moved the disappearing cabinet in the room to the innermost part of the valley.

When Mike arrived, fortifications were being built on the cliffs on both sides of the valley. They were buildings similar to bunkers, and there were also a circle of low walls built of rocks on the periphery. When the battle began, Mike's wizards would attack the Death Eaters below under the protection of these fortifications.

The ants would pour in through the gap in the front of the canyon and stand with the Death Eaters.

As for whether the spells shot by the wizards above the canyon would accidentally hurt those ants friendly forces, this is not within Mike's consideration. In his opinion, these ants are used as cannon fodder to attract firepower.

To be honest, although these fortifications built with magic in a hurry are already very strong at the level of Muggles, they are still a little too weak to see in front of the wizards.

But in the current ambush and sneak attack battles, these fortifications are extremely useful. Under their cover, the wizards on the cliff can launch unscrupulous attacks, and the bottom-up attacks of the Death Eaters pose little threat to them.

And just as Mike was in full swing, there was a problem with the troops sent by Prime Minister Muggle.

The first is the ground force of 70 people. Mike's original intention was to place 50 of these people on the cliffs on both sides of the ambush site, and use the sniper's precise shooting ability and gunner's barrage coverage ability as firepower support for the wizard combat force.

But Mike's arrangement encountered unexpected difficulties when it was actually implemented.

Although Franklin had explained to them as much as possible that the world that was about to arrive was a fantasy world composed of monsters and wizards, when the ground forces were actually teleported into the Avery Secret Realm, they still had an overreaction when they encountered those huge ants.

The soldiers screamed and carried their guns and launched an attack on the ant colony that was carrying mushrooms. Many of the young soldiers even regarded the worker ants as Zergs in a certain game of battle, screaming and rushing forward as Mike didn't understand!

It has to be said that the people sent by the Muggle Prime Minister are real combat elites. They showed excellent combat qualities in the battle with the ants and instantly killed dozens of ants.

But they are all friendly forces!

Mike was speechless at these soldiers!

Fortunately, these soldiers were all products of rigorous training and frequent brainwashing. When Franklin, as the interim commander, roared and issued an order to stop firing, they stopped.

But they were still full of vigilance about everything around them. The strange scenes that appeared in front of them completely shattered their views. Many of them even thought they were sent to fight on alien planets.

Obviously, it is basically impossible to fight in this state with a wizard. In desperation, Mike could only divide them into a team and guard a section of cliffs alone.

However, these ground troops are easy to deal with, and the air troops on the other side will be in trouble.

You should know that the mission Mike wanted to hand them over was to bomb Malfoy Manor and provide air support to friendly forces that counterattacked into Malfoy Manor.

But judging from the situation shown by the ground forces, the air force that is more spoiled will obviously have worse psychological acceptance, and they may launch indiscriminate attacks at that time.

This made Mike unacceptable. You should know that each of the combat wizards of the Los Santo Group carefully cultivated them for a lot of resources. It would be fine to let them die on the battlefield, but Mike was reluctant to die under the indiscriminate attack of friendly forces.

In desperation, the day before Christmas, Mike could only ask Professor Flewy to ask for help.

In the villa in the Godrick Valley, Professor Flevy stared at Mike with a weird look after listening to the story made up by Mike and his description of the current dilemma.

This made Mike feel a little uncomfortable, and he thought that his lie was discovered by Professor Flevy.

And just as Mike couldn't help but want to confess to Professor Flevy, he sighed and said with some anger:

"Mike, have you never learned about the process of recruiting freshmen in Hogwarts?"

"Well, it's true." Mike said in confusion, "but does this... have anything to do with the problems I'm facing now?"

Professor Flevy was so angry that he reached out and patted Mike's forehead:

"Because you wouldn't ask me such a stupid question if you have any knowledge of these things!"

Mike rubbed his head and looked at Professor Flevy with an innocent look on his face. He still couldn't figure out what the connection was.

This made Professor Flevy furious. He raised his hand and prepared to give Mike another shot. But when Mike turned his head and dodged, he saw Professor Flevy suddenly remembered something, and his face, which was originally full of anger, became heartbroken. Then the raised palm gently landed on Mike's head and rubbed it gently.

"Sorry, Mike."

Although he didn't understand why Professor Flevy apologized, Mike nodded.

After that, Professor Flevy's attitude changed drastically. He sighed and said slowly:

"Mac, Hogwarts's recruitment process is like this. Every spring, a magic book in the principal's office of Hogwarts will automatically detect children in the country who meet the Hogwarts admission standards, and then list them, and then the principal produces and sends an admission notice.

Among them, the prospective freshmen in Muggle families do not have the ability to purchase teaching items, Hogwarts will send professors to the homes of those Muggle students to explain to those students and their parents. This is a very necessary behavior. After all, parents always love their children. Hogwarts professors cannot take their children away directly. This is too cruel."

Professor Flevy suddenly paused when he said this, and this pause also made Mike understand why Professor Flevy apologized before.

You know that Mike is an orphan, so when Dumbledore came to him personally, he did not explain this process to his parents at all!

"Although Hogwarts' approach is already very humane, it is almost the best choice for those students to attend Hogwarts. But in the actual work process, professors often encounter the same problems as you - some Muggles always like to immerse themselves in their own world and are unwilling to accept reality.

When facing these people, simply persuading them is useless, so when the prospective freshmen have agreed to enroll but their parents do not agree, the professors sent will take some measures…”

"You mean..."

"Yes, you are a smart child, so you should be able to guess." Flewy nodded with a smile, "It is a small spell improved from the advanced god-taking chanting spell, called the 'Muggle Transformation Spell'. Through this small spell, the caster can allow Muggle to accept the fact that the existence of the wizard world is in a very short time, so that he can better negotiate with the other party."

As he said that, Professor Flevy took out his wand and personally demonstrated the release of the Muggle transformation curse for Mike.

It has to be said that this is indeed a very simple little curse. Mike only spent a whole night to fully master it and apply it to the Muggle soldiers.

According to the feedback, the effect of this little spell is indeed very good. Now the attitude of those Muggle soldiers has reversed by 180 degrees compared to when they first came, and they are exploring this new world with full of curiosity.

But their behavior actually didn't make much sense, because for the sake of confidentiality and security, Mike had already decided to eliminate the memories of all of them after the battle was over.

But they obviously didn't know about this, so a strange scene appeared. The Muggle soldiers didn't dare to pester the wizards and ask questions all day long, which made the wizards tirelessly!

In other words, the wizards under Mike were all from Muggles. If it were pure-blooded wizards, these Muggle soldiers would have died many times.

And just as chaos in the Avery Secret territory was finally here.

...

In the Hogwarts Castle, Snape, who was covered in black robe, passed through the corridor with a gloomy face and quickly entered Dumbledore's office.

The sound of the office door closing awakened Dumbledore sleeping on the desk and the portraits of the principals of all generations on the wall.

The latter saw that Snape was the one who came, but muttered twice in dissatisfaction, and then fell asleep one after another.

Dumbledore looked at Snape with curiosity, and then said in surprise:

"Severus, you're here to spend Christmas with me. This is really strange!"

Snape across from his desk curled his lips.

In previous years, he basically did not attend the Christmas dinner at Hogwarts. Compared to staying in Hogwarts and celebrating with a group of stupid students, Snape prefers to go to the cemetery to present a bouquet of flowers to Lily, and then drink a bottle of Starlight wine alone in front of Lily's tombstone, so as to remember the wonderful time he had been with Lily with drunkenness.

But this year is different, and a sudden news broke his grave sweeping plan.

"Dumbledore, there's no time to joke! The Death Eaters are ready to attack Hogwarts tonight!"

As soon as this was said, most of the magical portraits on the wall woke up immediately, staring at Snape below with disbelief.

The smile on Dumbledore's face disappeared, he frowned and said:

"Can you confirm the authenticity of this news?"

"This is what Narcissa told me in person. Her son Draco found a vanishing cabinet in the room of requests. Another sub-cage that matched the vanishing cabinet is now in the hands of that person. Tonight the Death Eaters will launch a raid on Hogwarts through the vanishing cabinet! And the reason why Narcissa told me these things was entirely because Draco was forced to participate, and she wanted me to protect her son!"

Dumbledore's face turned extremely dark, and he looked out the window and murmured:

"Since you didn't bring that vanishing cabinet, can it be said that the vanishing cabinet in Hogwarts is now missing?"

"You guessed it right," said Snape. "I've been to the room before I come back, and the vanishing cabinet is no longer there."

"It seems that today is the time for me to devote myself to Hogwarts."

Dumbledore's face was calm and said while removing the straps on his arm.

Dumbledore's words shocked Snape, and he hurriedly said:

"Dumbledore! You can't die here! You are..."

"Nothing is true. I am the principal of Hogwarts. It is my responsibility to protect students. I have been prepared for the sacrifice of this school since the first day I sat on this seat." Dumbledore said to the numerous portraits of the former principal hanging above the wall, "What do you think."

The portraits all nodded at Dumbledore with relief, but this made Snape very angry. He glared at the portraits and was about to continue to persuade Dumbledore to escape, but the latter said first:

"Snape, do what you should do. Draco is not bad in nature. Protect him well. You have promised Narcisa, right?"

After saying that, Dumbledore smiled kindly at Snape, who stood there in a daze with a gloomy face.

After a while, Snape snorted coldly and shook his sleeves and left!
