The first floor had become a battlefield, where a six-man combat squad was fighting and retreating, weapons at their sides.

Not far ahead of them, a soldier dressed as an assault team member had half his head missing, blood splattered across half the wall. In their ranks, another man was clutching his wounded abdomen, but the profuse bleeding made his condition appear dire; a blood vessel had clearly been damaged. Yet another had lost half his left hand and was struggling to hold his rifle with one hand, enduring the pain.

The other three healthy assault team members looked alert; one was watching behind him, while the other two were looking ahead and above him.

Most of the overhead lights had been destroyed, with only a few dim lights still shining. The assault team members turned on their flashlights, and the beams of light were exceptionally conspicuous in the darkness.

These people were walking backwards in the direction they had come from, clearly in retreat.
