The clearing of the cave ruins is still progressing rapidly. Today, Zhang Jing had just entered the cave when he was informed by Li Heng, a servant of the cave, that there had been a special discovery. So, he followed him to a set of ruins.

This area is located near the eastern edge of the mountaintop. It was originally the basement of a tall building, but the upper level of the building had been completely destroyed, collapsing into a pile of ruins that completely covered the basement below.

However, in a way, it also seems to have preserved the integrity of the basement. By this time, the servants of the cave had already cleared away the ruins above, revealing the empty base and the entrance to the basement below.

"Is this what you wanted me to see?" Zhang Jing stared at the dark entrance to the corridor ahead.

Li Heng nodded and sent a thought. It roughly meant that the inside should be the key to the grotto-heaven.

"The grotto-heaven hub?" Zhang Jing pondered the term for a moment, then asked, "How much do you know about this?"

Upon hearing this, Li Heng sent another thought, and Zhang Jing understood that it must be something like a central control room. As for the specifics, Li Heng, as a servant of the newly born cave, didn't know much either.

Zhang Jing nodded and went inside. Just to be on the safe side, he summoned his wish book, held it in his hand, and prepared to make a wish at any time in case of an emergency.

The corridor descended for about a hundred meters before a portal that appeared to be made of energy appeared ahead. Strange colors swirled around the portal, blocking the way.

Zhang Jing drew his tactical dagger from his waist, and with the scabbard still on, gently poked the portal. He felt that it was extremely resilient and that the same force was returned to him. As he slowly increased the force, the reaction force returned to him also increased.

Zhang Jing thought for a moment, then reached out and slapped the light gate with force. He felt that it was soft and pliable as if it were solid. Immediately afterward, the same force rebounded and hit his palm, making him stagger.

Guessing that this gate of light might be able to reflect all the attacks it received, Zhang Jing stopped trying to fight it head-on and instead carefully observed the area around the gate of light.

The porch surrounding the light gate was made of a black material with a metallic sheen. Zhang Jing had no knowledge of materials science and couldn't tell what it was made of. However, he still noticed a groove on his right side, level with his shoulder. The shape of the groove gave him an instant guess.

Zhang Jing took out his own jade tablet, examined it, and then carefully pressed it into the groove. With a soft click, the jade tablet was perfectly seated.

Immediately afterwards, a beam of light seemed to rise from nothingness, sweeping across the jade tablet and Zhang Jing's body. This light flashed and disappeared in an instant. Afterward, the light gate in front of Zhang Jing slowly began to rotate, and then shrank in all directions, revealing a hole more than a meter high.

Through the hole, one could see that there was an empty room behind it. Zhang Jing thought for a moment, then took the jade tablet from the groove next to him. The doorway had not disappeared, so he stepped inside.

As soon as Zhang Jing stepped into the doorway, the light gate behind him closed and returned to its original state.

This is a huge, spacious hall, about five or six meters high, larger than a basketball court. The ceiling is arched, and looking up, you can see various intricate and mysterious star-like patterns carved into it.

In the center of the hall stands a circular stone platform, intricately carved with patterns, giving it the appearance of an altar. Above the platform floats a massive blue sphere of light, taller than a person, hovering silently, its surface rippling rhythmically like the tides, giving the impression that it is breathing.

Zhang Jing slowly walked to the stone platform, looking at the sphere of light floating in front of him, guessing its purpose. However, there were no clues or text around, making it impossible for him to be truly certain. Nevertheless, judging from the appearance of this sphere of light, it was highly likely to be the core of this place.
