If Roya were standing here, he would recognize the man in front of him at a glance.
The visitor was none other than Demiurge, the guardian of the seventh level of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
"I heard it all."
Demiurge spoke in a hoarse voice, his back to Lana, in a condescending tone.
He never once looked at Lana, his attitude was extremely arrogant.
However, Lana showed no dissatisfaction whatsoever with this attitude; in fact, to some extent, she even had a hint of smugness on her face.
"I've obtained some very interesting information."
Chapter 429 Conjecture
Demiurge, however, was recalling the information revealed by those people earlier, and muttered to himself, "Roya Greirat, it seems it's time to test him. If we do these things in this country, we're bound to clash with him."
"It seems the information they provided is true, but information about this person is extremely scarce."
Lana dared not speak, but simply lowered her head in respect. Demiurge was very satisfied with Lana's attitude, but at this moment, a new problem arose regarding Roya.
"Is this guy actually a player?" Demiurge began to wonder.
In fact, the Great Tomb of Nazarick had conducted numerous investigations into Roya behind the scenes, but the results were all unsatisfactory. It was as if this person had sprung from a stone; there was simply no information about him in the world.
However, if you were to call him a player, he claimed that he had a super power backing him up and knew a lot about the secrets of this world.
For a moment, even Demiurge was unsure of Roya's identity.
"No, that's not right. So far, there haven't been any major flaws in what the other party has said, but we certainly can't believe it all. From my observation, he's probably telling seven parts truth and three parts falsehood, using real information to cover up the remaining three parts false information, giving us the wrong guidance."
Demiurge is one of the few NPCs in the Great Tomb of Nazarick known for his wisdom. In addition to being the guardian of the seventh floor, Demiurge is also the strategist who assists Albedo.
At this moment, his thoughts were racing, and he was starting a series of brainstorming sessions.
The more Demiurge pondered, the brighter his eyes became, as if he had sensed something, and a spark of inspiration was igniting in his mind.
Finally, something suddenly occurred to him, and a barely perceptible smile appeared on his face.
"Oh right, how could I forget? Who said players can't know a lot of information?"
Demiurge's eyes seemed to pierce through the mist, revealing a figure deep within it, thus lifting the veil that had shrouded him.
"A player, this person is a player, and very likely a player who has been hiding behind the scenes for a long time. As for the Soul Hall, it must be an organization to which the other party belongs!"
Demiurge's eyes gleamed with wisdom. With his mind in a state of intellectual euphoria, he felt his IQ was a staggering 250. He felt he had grasped everything.
Recently, Demiurge has been racking his brains over Roja's identity.
He had been investigating Roya continuously, but the results were all unsatisfactory. He could not obtain any useful information, and even searching through ancient history did not yield any useful intelligence.
This made him feel very irritable, but at this moment, when he grasped this inspiration, he finally felt like he had seen the moon through the clouds.
They've been stuck in a misconception, using their own experiences as a reference and thinking that players couldn't possibly know that much about the world.
But in reality, this is a misconception.
Players who have just arrived in this world do indeed lack information, after all, they have come to a new world.
However, this lack of information will not last long. As long as one can integrate into this world and conduct a little investigation, the missing basic information can be quickly made up.
If something has existed for a long enough period of time, it would have a great deal of knowledge about the world and know some of its secrets, which is perfectly understandable.
If we continue thinking along these lines, we can be fairly certain that Roya is the player.
However, after deducing that Roya was a player, Demiurge felt no joy whatsoever.
"Even if we know Roya is a player, so what? A guy like that will eventually become our adversary." Demiurge sighed, his gaze becoming even more profound.
Demiurge saw things clearly and believed that one day, the Great Tomb of Nazarick would clash fiercely with this ancient and mysterious force.
This is an irreconcilable contradiction, and the reason is quite simple.
If the Great Tomb of Nazarick wants to develop better, it must change the current world order. But would the Temple of Souls accept a world ruled by alien races? Or rather, would that group of people accept it?
From a fundamental standpoint, they belong to the Chaos Evil camp, while the Soul Palace belongs to the neutral camp.
They don't usually do anything, but when someone tries to change the world order, they will definitely step in to stop them.
Having figured this out, Demiurge became even more eager to try.
"This seems like a good opportunity. It looks like this guy can't stand being alone and is trying to test him."
Demiurge suddenly spoke up and asked, "Lana Thiel Shardon Lyle Vansef, how are you doing with the things I assigned you?"
Lana, who was suddenly called out, quickly replied, "Everything is proceeding smoothly. If nothing unexpected happens, there shouldn't be any major problems with this mission."
Demiurge chuckled softly, expressing his sincere satisfaction to the girl kneeling below.
"As expected of the Golden Princess, in that case, let the capital be the first stage to welcome Nazarick! As for Roya, aren't those women very interested in him? Let those women go and pester him."
"Yes, my lord!"
Demiurge revealed an evil smile, his tail swaying slightly behind him. At this moment, Demiurge exuded an extremely evil aura.
"Then let me see what tricks you have up your sleeve, Shalltear. This time, let's see if you can make amends."
------------
Roya's room.
Instead of returning to the Hall of Radiance, he chose to stay at a hotel in the capital.
There's a reason for doing this: this is the climax of the story, and if nothing unexpected happens, Ainz's next target will be this kingdom.
He confirmed this through information gathered from various sources.
If things were to proceed according to the usual pattern, Ainz Ooal Gown's first target shouldn't have been the kingdom, but rather the Slane Theocracy, which had been betrayed by Roya, and would have been the first to bear the brunt of Ainz Ooal Gown's attacks and become the first target of retaliation.
However, this is not the case. Given Ainz's personality, he would not directly destroy the Slane Theocracy because of this incident. Instead, he would proceed slowly and test the waters first.
Actually, there was no other way to do this. After all, there was someone like Roya watching them from behind. If they made any big moves, they would inevitably attract Roya's attention.
Of course, there was another reason, which was that some of the nobles in this country had indeed gone too far, making Roya feel disgusted and thinking that he should take care of all of them.
The exploitation by the nobility has a long history, and they have always gained their benefits by suppressing the working class.
As a nobleman himself, Roya turned a blind eye to any exploitation as long as it wasn't too excessive, and it never actually happened.
After all, he knew that this was the way things were in ancient times, and that such a group of people would appear in every era.
However, the current situation has exceeded the limit of what Luo Ya can tolerate. The nobles no longer treat the lower-level people as human beings. They forcibly seize whatever they want, and bullying men and women is commonplace.
Especially after walking around the capital a few times, Roya felt nauseous.
Roya is not a person overflowing with a sense of justice, but he has his own moral standards, which is why he has become increasingly dissatisfied with this country.
But that's a story for later. Luo Ya opened the door and took a breath of fresh air.
After the young man had prepared his things, he was about to leave when he noticed a figure standing at the door.
The figure looked very familiar; it was the down-on-his-luck swordsman he had met just two days ago.
The moment the other person saw Luo Ya, they stared intently at him.
Luo Ya scratched his head. Without thinking too much, he knew the other person was definitely carrying some unknown trouble. Luo Ya simply pretended not to see them and walked straight outside.
But clearly, Roya's plan failed.
Before he could take more than a few steps, Roya was immediately entangled by his opponent.
Brian excitedly tried to shake Roya's hand, but Roya quietly dodged it.
He ignored Roya's step back and bowed directly, saying, "Hello!"
"Well, good morning."
Luo Ya responded expressionlessly, though he did have a guess about the other party's intentions.
Sure enough, after taking a deep breath, Brian suddenly said, "Um, please let me learn from you."
Luo Ya did not answer, and quickly frowned.
Brian, not receiving a reply from Roya, quickly said, "Of course, I won't let you waste your time!"
At this point, he reached into his pocket and pulled out one prop after another.
"Although these are just some inexpensive items, I have some magical artifacts on me. If you don't mind, I can offer them to you as payment! These are the artifacts I have; I hope you will accept them!"
As they talked, they took out all the things that looked most valuable on them.
Luo Ya glanced at it briefly and immediately lost all interest.
These props might be valuable assets to Brian, but to him they're just fashionable junk, utterly useless.
But Brian clearly didn't realize this. Instead, he was so excited that his face turned red as he explained, "After I got back, I kept thinking about your sword strike. I thought about it all night long, constantly recalling your heroic figure."
"That sword strike made me realize many of my shortcomings. Compared to your sword strike, my Tiger Fall Flute, which I have always been proud of, is like a child waving a stick. So, if possible, please accept me!"
Luo Ya raised an eyebrow. The other party was being so polite that he didn't know how to refuse.
Luo Ya sighed, pondered for a long time, and finally said softly, "...It's not that it's impossible."
Compared to the others, he was the one who knew best the terror of Roya's sword strike.
