"You seem to have a way?" Dumbledore smiled upon hearing Vizet's words. "Can that map show such a large area?"
“There’s no way…” Vizet shook his head, “but I have a larger map that shows Hogwarts and the surrounding area.”
"If Sirius Black is still lurking around Hogwarts, we should be able to find his trail by modifying that map."
……
Dumbledore asked with some curiosity, "Is it something left to you by the previous Guardian?"
“That’s right!” Vizette nodded. “It’s something she left behind.”
The "larger map" he mentioned was the "map room" that Serena Pendragon had once told him about.
Last school year, he went to the map escape room several times;
Perhaps in order to deal with the Isaiah Society, he found many traces of the modifications in the map room, and many of the original items must have been moved away.
Of all the things that were preserved, the one that amazed him and Luna the most was that incredibly huge map.
The map was made up of starlight. With each step you took, faint starlight followed you, while brighter starlight converged to form the outlines of various terrains.
It includes not only Hogwarts Castle, but also other castles and villages in the surrounding area, as well as the outlines of the surrounding mountains, hills, rivers and other terrain features;
In some ways, the giant star map in the map room is actually quite similar to the Marauder's Map;
That's why Vizet wanted to modify it to give it a function similar to Marauder's Map.
Vizet continued, "But the modification will take some time, and I can't give you a specific timeframe yet."
“Of course.” Dumbledore nodded. “I think Sirius Black won’t be infiltrating anytime soon…”
"Actually," Vizette said, "we could make some gadgets to protect ourselves from Sirius Black, like we made the Parseltongue whistle."
Dumbledore immediately grasped the principle: "Using your map? Plus... the connection between 'spirit' and 'soul'?"
“That’s right!” Vizet nodded. “Of course, the mandrake leaves also played a crucial role.”
"Suddenly I feel..." Dumbledore let out a long breath, "...a lot more relaxed..."
“Then you shouldn’t drink strong tea. A good night’s sleep is actually a good way to relax.” Vizet stood up. “Headmaster Dumbledore, I should go back and rest. You should rest early too!”
“Of course!” Dumbledore stood up, his eyes filled with endless emotion and remembrance;
He said something remarkably similar; a long, long time ago, someone else had said the same thing to him…
Chapter 195 Sirius Black with Claws
Because she was so frightened, the fat lady kept going from one portrait to another, sharing her terrifying experience from that night.
Even when Dumbledore himself came and praised the fat lady's singing, it didn't calm her down; she still refused to return to the original portrait.
As Vizette and Luna walked down the fifth-floor corridor, they heard the fat lady confidently declare, "I saw Sirius Black! He was so angry he was practically spitting fire, and he tore my portrait to shreds with his claws!"
After saying these words, the fat lady would start to cry and sob. After being comforted by the other portraits, she would tidy herself up and go to the other portrait.
On a whim, Luna dragged Vizette along to follow the fat lady's trail and found the portraits on the other side.
The two listened until the end, and then they noticed that the fat lady's words had changed, from "so angry that sparks were coming out of her nose" to "breathing flames from her mouth";
Sirius Black's "claws" are also sharper, capable of shattering picture frames;
After hearing the story, the people in the portraits all cried out in horror, saying they absolutely did not want to meet Sirius Black.
It was for this reason that, after some discussion, the portrait that temporarily replaced the fat lady in fulfilling her duties was a portrait placed in the corner of the seventh floor—Sir Cadogan and his little grey horse.
Sir Cadogan was less competent than the Fat Lady; besides cursing and challenging the students to duels, he was always thinking about changing the password, changing it at least twice a day.
The Gryffindor students were not satisfied with this, but unfortunately, because the Fat Lady kept visiting and exaggerating the horror of Sirius Black, the other portraits were unwilling to serve as guards.
Only Sir Cadogan was willing to step forward, and even declared that if he encountered Sirius Black, he would cut off Sirius Black's claws just like he had done to Wylie the Dragon.
On their way back to the lounge, Wizette and Luna couldn't help but laugh when they heard Sir Cadogan riding his little grey horse and making such boastful remarks in front of Seamus Finnigan.
Sir Cadogan's interest in this matter likely stems from the influence of the Fat Lady's Storytelling Club, and his desire for a head-to-head duel with Sirius Black.
……
Wizette used this time to begin preparing for the next phase of the plan.
He didn’t actually study Marauder’s Map in detail; he just used it as a way to relax and use some spare time to study Marauder’s Map and write some essays.
Thanks to the summer vacation, he organized his notes and compiled all the scattered musings about Marauder's Map into one.
He used his spare time these past few days to find his notes on Marauder's Map and, combining them with the arithmetic divination and ancient runes he had just learned this academic year, tried to refine the contents of his notes.
"Merlin's lace wristbands!" Fred and George exclaimed, their voices filled with admiration.
Fred said, "Vizet, how did you manage to do that... I thought you were copying something..."
George chimed in, "I didn't expect you to be copying and revising at the same time... Do you have a brain in your hands too? Is that why you can use them simultaneously without pausing?"
Vizette looked up. "Judging from your expressions, the Hogwarts Voice... should have already passed the paper."
“Of course!” Fred said, beaming. “The ‘picking method’ was a huge success!”
George didn't respond or offer any praise; instead, he sighed deeply, "If it weren't for Professor McGonagall, today would have been a perfect Saturday..."
Luna, who was standing nearby, also became interested and guessed with a smile, "Could it be that Professor McGonagall... is concerned about your studies?"
“You can’t do this!” George protested, clenching his fist. “One of you guessed our paper passed, and the other guessed we got a lecture from Professor McGonagall…”
“Let’s just stop talking…” Fred covered his mouth, his voice becoming extremely muffled and deep, “Now guess what we’re thinking?”
"I'm thinking..." Luna twirled a strand of pale blonde hair that fell in front of her and looped it around her slender fingers, "How do I get through this OWL exam?"
……
“Why don’t you apply for a professorship in divination?” George slammed his hand on the armchair behind him. “You seem much more accurate than Terry Laurie.”
“I still need to think about this…” Fred slammed his fist on another armchair. “How am I supposed to pass the O… cough… exam?”
“Speaking of which!” George seemed to have thought of something, and like a pinball that had hit the ground, he immediately bounced back up. “Vizet, how did you manage to get an ‘O’ in Potions?”
Fred jumped up, rubbing his back. He had hit the handrail when he fell and was now wincing in pain, barely able to speak.
When the topic of studying and exams came up, Neville and Hannah joined in, since it's something that all students have to face at school.
Moreover, they all have many elders in their families, so they naturally have high expectations for these younger generations' academic performance.
Neville's grandmother, for example, would often send him letters and occasionally give him memory balls, which are little gadgets that can help him remember things better.
Wizette was actually quite clear about their grades; they were all definitely students who excelled in one subject but not the other.
Fred and George have shown amazing talent and ability in making magical gadgets, but they seem to be better at practice and more adept at "sudden inspiration".
While reciting "The History of Magic," they would occasionally crawl into the barrel and start experimenting because of an interesting passage in the history.
When they finished their experiment and held the History of Magic in their hands again, they discovered that the contents they had memorized seemed to have disappeared along with the experimental supplies.
Neville and Hannah were in a similar situation; last school year, they were able to barely manage other subjects thanks to a reminder from Wizette.
However, he could only barely manage to pass other subjects. His potions class grades went from "P" to "A" to "E-", achieving a passing grade or higher.
……
Faced with the expectant gazes of Neville and Hannah, the pleading looks of Fred and George, and the intrigued gaze of Luna, Vizette put down her pen.
"I think I mentioned in that previous paper that you should use what you're good at to learn what you're not good at..."
“Yes!” Neville nodded repeatedly. “And last school year, you said something similar…”
He scratched his head a little sheepishly, "Although I still don't quite understand... I did it!"
"You have a secret with Neville!" Fred and George exclaimed in unison. "You're so biased...we want it too!"
“No…it’s not a secret!” Neville quickly waved his hands to explain, “Hannah and Luna…they know too!”
Chapter 196 Swelling Potion and Swelling Curse
Upon hearing Neville's words, Fred and George covered their faces, looking as if they were about to cry.
"So it was a secret between the four of you. We probably shouldn't have been in the corridor; we should have gone back into the wooden barrel."
"Which barrel?" Hannah asked, somewhat bewildered. "Prefect Truman told us... that we can't use barrels unless we're Hufflepuff students."
“I think Fred and George were referring to…” Vizet pointed towards the wall, “those barrels.”
Neville scratched his head in confusion and asked, "But isn't it still in the entrance hall?"
“Yes!” Hannah chimed in, “It’s the barrel in the arcade. I thought it was the barrel at Hufflepuff.”
Vizette and Luna burst into laughter, and even the Weasley twins couldn't keep up the act anymore.
"Why aren't you comforting us!" Fred protested. "Are you trying to sabotage us?"
“Yes!” George nodded as well. “Neville! We’re from the same house, how could you say something like that?”
"This is a new secret, do you want to hear it?" Vizette asked. "Is it... a refinement of the previous secret?"
George gave a thumbs up: "Vizet has the best voice!"
Fred leaned closer and said, "Yes! Tell us quickly!"
“Where shall we begin?” Vizette turned to a new page in her notebook. “Let’s start with our hobbies… and then extend to our strengths in magic!”
