Cornelius Fudge didn't have a good memory, but he couldn't forget the name of the wizard in front of him—Sirius Black.

Back then, he was the deputy director of the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters. When he came to handle a magical accident, he happened to run into Sirius Black, who was standing there laughing hysterically.

Based on his assessment at the time, he concluded that Sirius Black killed Peter Pettigrew and orchestrated subsequent events that led to Sirius Black's imprisonment in Azkaban.

It was precisely because of this achievement that he was able to win the position of Minister of Magic by a narrow margin many years later.

In some ways, perhaps he should thank Sirius Black…

"Give me that..." Sirius's voice came again.

Cornelius Fudge held up the Daily Prophet, looking down at it condescendingly, and said, "You want this? What do you want to do with it?"

Sirius said calmly, "I want to play a crossword puzzle... There's nothing here..."

Such a calm voice struck Cornelius Fudge like a thunderbolt, sending a chill down his spine.

His hand trembled involuntarily, and the Daily Prophet fell to the ground. Sirius Black stretched out his arm, his shoulder easily passing through the iron bars, and grabbed the Daily Prophet in his hand.

Sirius Black, like a vicious dog guarding its food, stuffed the Daily Prophet into his arms, went straight to the window, and began to read it by the dim light.

Cornelius Fudge grew even more uneasy and quickly called over a guard, "Go! Bring me the newspaper!"

"Faint!" The guard nodded and immediately drew his wand to cast a stun spell.

With a flash of red light, Sirius Black crashed into the wall, and the Daily Prophet fell to the ground.

"Does he usually act like this?" Cornelius Fudge asked doubtfully.

“Yugadimur Leviosa!” The guard cast a levitation spell and slowly retrieved the Daily Prophet. “He wouldn’t normally do this… Normally he would only say things like ‘I killed them…’”

“This is abnormal! This is very abnormal!” Cornelius Fudge muttered. “Keep an eye on him!”

The guard immediately stood at attention, head held high, and replied, "Yes, Minister Fudge!"

……

"No wonder the Dementors were so restless today... They've probably never eaten anything this good before..."

“Giddro Lockhart…my wife loves his books, thank goodness he’s a fraud!”

"Haha! Now that you see him suffering, you've finally gotten your revenge..."

"That's true. I reckon he'll be like the other prisoners in a month at most..."

"I hope he doesn't end up like Blake... that was really scary!"

"What exactly happened during my handover with the Aurors?"

"It's the Daily Prophet that we didn't hide well, wasn't it stolen by Fudge? Then, I don't know what happened... it was stolen by Black too... Fudge was terrified..."

"He deserves a scare. I've heard there are a lot of people who are unhappy with him... If another accident happens, he might have to leave his ministerial position..."

"That was a short-lived minister. How long had he been in office? Was there any wizard who stepped down before him?"

"I don't know... I've given it all back to Hogwarts. All I remember is how to cast spells. Who's going to memorize the history of magic...?"

"With so many Dementors in Azkaban, it shouldn't be possible for anything to happen, right?"

"That's right! That's the key point! No one can escape from here!"

A series of sounds gradually brought Sirius back to consciousness...

Chapter 74 He's at Hogwarts!

Sirius used all his strength to roll over, the pain in his body so real that he wanted to thank the guard who had knocked him unconscious.

If he hadn't been hurt by the Stunning Curse, he would have thought that everything that had just happened was a dream.

He recalled the picture in the Daily Prophet, and a smile involuntarily crept onto his lips. "He's at Hogwarts! He's at Hogwarts!"

He murmured to himself, a plan taking shape in his mind—he was going to leave this place and find that person!

Unbeknownst to him, a tear slid down the corner of his eye, seemingly about to slide down his waxy cheek and onto the floor.

He quickly reached out and swallowed the precious tear.

He had to conserve every resource to ensure he could escape and find that damned traitor!

A Dementor appeared. The guard had just opened the cell door for it when it eagerly slipped inside, hovering above Sirius, constantly absorbing his meager happiness.

Happiness is so faint, yet so lingering, as if no matter how much it is absorbed, it can never be completely absorbed.

Nevertheless, Sirius couldn't withstand such torment, and with a strange "gurgling" sound as he inhaled, he fainted again.

Even so, his murmurs didn't stop; he kept uttering weak sounds, "He's at Hogwarts! He's at Hogwarts!"

……

Sirius had a long dream, a beautiful dream. He returned to Hogwarts under the blazing sun, and with just a pinch of his hand, he could catch that damned traitor.

However, the traitor escaped once again. He chased after him relentlessly, traversing the dark Forbidden Forest, where the surroundings grew ever darker, as if he had pursued him from day to night.

The traitor disappeared, and as if in the endless night a small house appeared, that was James's small house;

He took a few steps forward, as if by doing so he could see Lily holding Harry and James making faces in the warm light;

He was horrified to discover that he was wrong; he was getting further and further away from the cabin, and even though the cabin seemed so close, he couldn't take another step forward.

He wanted to reach the doorknob, and in front of James and Lily, slap himself hard and reveal who the traitor really was.

It was too late. The traitor appeared before him, with a tall, thin figure standing beside him. The figure was draped in a black cloak and looked like a grim reaper of souls.

The figure moved, pointing its wand at James first. A fierce green light, like lightning, burst forth and instantly destroyed everything!

……

"I'm the one who killed them!"

Sirius Black suddenly opened his eyes, and out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a tattered cloak—the Dementor that had finally sucked away his only happiness.

As happiness faded, his beautiful dream turned into a nightmare.

However, this also reminded him that he was still a sinner, even if he caught that traitor;

If it weren't for his arrogance, and if James and the others hadn't trusted him so much, none of this tragedy would have happened!

This is also why he survived in Azkaban; death would be a relief for him, and he needed to live to endure the torment of the Dementors.

He hoped it could continue indefinitely, that he could die later and endure more torment—a punishment he deserved…

If that's the case, then why even want to leave? Why not just stay and accept your punishment...?

Sirius suddenly jolted awake and murmured again, "He's at Hogwarts! He's at Hogwarts!"

One of the effects of having one's happiness absorbed by a Dementor is becoming negative. One needs to resist this negativity and stay true to one's own beliefs.

That traitor was hanging out with the Weasleys, and considering the timeline, not only the Weasley children, but Harry should have already started school too…

Since that traitor is at Hogwarts, Harry is bound to get hurt...

Those are James and Lily's child, his godson...

He needs to leave Azkaban!

He needs to leave Azkaban!

The Dementors are back, hovering above Sirius again, emitting eerie "clucking" sounds as they suck in air, once again extracting any positive emotions that suddenly arise.

For Dementors, happiness is just a delicious meal. There are many other foods they can consume, including all kinds of positive emotions, but souls are the ultimate delicacy.

……

"Have you noticed that Blake seems to have changed...?"

"What's changed? Wasn't it always lying there motionless like a corpse?"

"He seems to talk in his sleep, constantly shouting something like 'He's at Hogwarts'..."

"It should be... alright, right? Let's record this anomaly and report it to the Ministry of Magic later!"

"He's also started eating more frequently. Before, he would wait until the food went bad and got maggots before he would pick it up and swallow it. I even thought he had pica..."

"It might just be a peculiar quirk of pure-blood families... There's no need to worry too much. How could he possibly escape Azkaban? Dementors are much smarter than us!"

“That makes sense… The Dementors have been frequenting Black’s place lately, it seems there’s still some value they can extract from him…”

"That's terrifying! After being imprisoned for so many years, the only one who can still attract so many Dementors seems to be Lestrange..."

"That Lestrange is the madman. He keeps shouting that 'the Dark Lord will find his most loyal servant.' How long has the Mystic been dead? Does he think he can come back to life?"

……

After an unknown amount of time, Sirius was finally ready.

He not only needs to be thin enough, but also needs enough strength to escape from here.

While the Dementors were patrolling other areas, he transformed into a small, thin black dog and nimbly climbed the iron bars of the window.

He desperately used his conviction to control the instincts emanating from the black dog, and leaped into the air, landing in a mass grave outside Azkaban.

boom!

This is where the prisoners who died are dealt with. He landed on a flat piece of ground, making a small crater, beneath which lay a buried skeleton.

This not only brought him unspeakable pain, but the sound he made also alerted the Dementors, who then hovered over the mass grave.
