“Mosage…what happened…and all of you…why aren’t you saying anything…”
Aragok cried out uneasily, his body swaying stiffly as he tried to crawl out of the enormous hemispherical spider web.
Mossag stopped opening and closing its chelicerae; it had already reached the outer edge of the spider web. It only needed to move forward a little more to swing to the tree in front of it.
"Skillful adaptation!"
A desperate chanting arose, and the surrounding spider webs gathered together, forming fences that converged on it from all directions.
At this point, it knew it had been exposed and it was time to make a final stand.
It opened and closed its chelicerae, making a "click-clack" sound, and desperately waved its eight spider legs, constantly shaking its body, trying to force its way out of the predicament by using its size.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. These seemingly fragile, slender fences seemed to contain some kind of powerful magic. Apart from bending the two fences at the beginning, they didn't achieve any better results.
……
“Wizard…we should talk…” Aragog heard Mossag’s voice, “I can hear your voice…”
“You must be a student at Hogwarts… Hagrid from Hogwarts and I are friends… good friends…”
Vizette waved her wand, causing the cage holding Mossag to fall to the ground. "Mr. Ferenze, is what it says true?"
“It’s true…” Ferenze hesitated for a moment, but finally admitted, “About fifty years ago, Aragog appeared in the Forbidden Forest, and Hagrid has been taking care of it ever since.”
Aragok hurriedly said, "Hagrid and I are very close...his wife, Mossag...he found her..."
“I see… It’s not entirely unexpected,” Vezel nodded. “No wonder Hagrid’s expression changed like that when he heard about the eight-eyed giant spider.”
Aragok quickly said, "You're also Hagrid's friend...we're all Hagrid's friends..."
Vizette waved her wand, turning a cage back into flowing water, then aimed it at the still convulsing eight-eyed giant spider, and said, "Tear it apart."
He cut open the giant spider's carapace and calmly extracted its venom sac. "Mr. Ferenze, there shouldn't be any other giant spiders. Could you please help me locate the unicorn?"
"Okay!" Ferenze nodded repeatedly and ran to the side.
Amid Aragok's repeated cries of "We are friends," Vizette removed the other poison sacs.
Each of the eight-eyed giant spiders passed away peacefully, with only a small wound around its head; its body was remarkably well-preserved.
……
Aragog's voice turned pleading, "Spare me... and Mossag... we're all Hagrid's friends..."
Vizette walked toward the largest cage and casually asked, "When you had Mossag lie in ambush just now, did you consider that we were friends?"
“Yes…” Aragok hesitated, but finally said, “It was Mossag who wanted to ambush us… I tried to dissuade him…”
“It lied…” Mossag opened and closed its chelicerae, its voice becoming agitated, “It was the one who told us to kill you… Don’t disturb its sleep…”
Aragok hurriedly explained, "What I mean is... Hagrid said... I'm not allowed to eat people... I didn't break my promise..."
Ferenze returned, cradling a unicorn in his arms, his voice filled with sorrow, "Vizet... we're too late, the unicorn is dying..."
He slowly bent down and gently placed the unicorn on the ground, tears welling in his eyes. "It's too cruel... its blood has been drained..."
It was a withered unicorn, as if all the flesh and blood had been drained from its body, and the beautiful curves of its muscles had vanished.
Its fur, which had originally been bathed in moonlight, was now incredibly dull, with only its abdomen slightly swollen, on which was a hideous gash.
It seemed to be clinging to life, its beautiful eyes lifeless and dull, a gruesome wound on its neck, the flesh turned outwards, oozing streaks of silvery-white blood with a blackish sheen...
Chapter 54 I'm greedy, I want them all to live!
Luna went straight to Professor McGonagall's office and handed her the note.
Professor McGonagall took a deep breath. "Luna, just stay with me and don't act on your own."
“I understand, Professor McGonagall.” Luna nodded gently, knowing what to do now.
“Very good!” Professor McGonagall raised her wand, and three silver tabby cats leaped from the tip of the wand, landing nimbly on the ground. “An accident has occurred in the Forbidden Forest; we must begin our operation.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the three physical guardian deities scattered and ran off in different directions, scattering patches of silver light across the corridor.
Professor McGonagall led Luna upstairs. Out of the corner of her eye, Luna caught a glimpse of Flitwick in mid-air, floating down like a feather.
Flitwick also saw Luna, and even waved and gave her a friendly smile.
Luna and Professor McGonagall returned to the eighth floor. A fleeting membrane of light appeared outside the window, accompanied by a muffled chanting, "Super Armor Protection!"
Professor McGonagall stood before the bronze gate, the bronze ring beneath the eagle statue trembling. "Books or knowledge, which is more important?"
"Books are the medium, and knowledge is used for thinking; both are important."
"A good answer."
The doors slowly opened, and Professor McGonagall slipped into the Ravenclaw common room. "Miss Crivart! Mr. Hilliard! Assemble the Ravenclaw students and proceed to the Great Hall for a headcount!"
She then turned to Luna and said, "You just stay with them. I need to inform the other colleges."
……
Professor McGonagall returned to the corridor, her fingers gripping her wand trembling slightly. "Stonestone, move out! Stonestone, move out!"
The armored figures and statues in the corridor began to move, following behind Professor McGonagall, their rumbling footsteps echoing through the corridor.
"Oh..." She smiled with an almost irrepressible smile, like a conductor making her debut. "The quantity has increased since then... and the maintenance is excellent!"
Upon reaching the staircase, Professor McGonagall pointed towards the movable staircase. "Guard the entrance to the Forbidden Forest, protect Hogwarts! Move out now! Move the stone blocks!"
The armor and statues on each floor responded to the call, leaving their original positions and jumping down the moving stairs, making the entire castle seem to tremble.
"What happened?" the plump lady asked anxiously when she saw Professor McGonagall. "Was there... an earthquake at the castle?"
"Wild beasts charge!" Professor McGonagall gave the command, stepping onto the picture frame with practiced ease, and instructing the Gryffindor prefects to gather the students.
Students from both colleges merged into a surging crowd, descending the orderly moving staircase, with many more students joining them along the way.
They soon arrived at the Great Hall, where they joined the two houses led by Snape and entered the Great Hall together.
The class leaders acted quickly and soon compiled a list of personnel.
Percy cried out anxiously, "Professor McGonagall! Harry is missing! We haven't found him in his dormitory, he didn't meet up with us, and Hermione and Ron haven't seen him either!"
……
Tom Riddle jumped straight into the Black Lake and swam like a fish into its depths until a huge pipe appeared before him, at which point he plunged in.
When he emerged from the other end of the pipe, he was greeted by the cave tunnel in front of the secret room.
He moved swiftly like a ghost, hissing as he approached the door to the secret chamber.
The door opened with a thud, followed by a similar hissing sound. Lockhart appeared, his head wrapped in a turban, carrying a cloth bag.
Behind him lay the unconscious Harry, and a group of vipers dragging him along.
"How did things go?" Lockhart asked impatiently. "I've got Harry!"
“Of course, as long as I can successfully resurrect!” Tom Riddle nodded and walked directly into the secret chamber.
In the center of the sealed room, there was a huge crucible, which was bubbling and occasionally emitting wisps of grayish steam.
Lockhart took out a tattered piece of parchment from his pocket and, following the instructions on it, threw the materials from the cloth bag into the crucible.
He kept muttering to himself, "While those people were gathered, I stole it from Snape's office... Remember what you promised me! Get the board of trustees to nominate me!"
"I'll become the headmaster of Hogwarts, and then you'll provide me with protection! Oh, and I also need to deal with Snape... I can't let anyone else know my secret!"
As one ingredient after another was thrown into the crucible, it began to boil, and the potion inside turned a deep green, like some kind of deadly poison.
"Got it!" Tom Riddle replied casually, taking out the vial of unicorn blood and then looking at the unconscious Harry with a malicious gaze.
“This is unicorn blood…” Lockhart took the glass bottle and carefully placed it on the ground.
His gaze lingered on the tattered parchment, and he repeatedly recited the incantation written on it.
"The blood of a pure mother and child, freely extracted, can allow the soul to be reborn..."
"The flesh of an innocent person, deliberately cut off, allows the soul to be preserved..."
"The bones of those who harbor hatred can be freely removed, allowing their souls to attach themselves to them..."
-------------------------------------
The unicorn straightened its body as it trembled, blinking its lifeless, dim eyes as if hinting at something.
Ferenczek's hands trembled as he gently stroked the opening in his abdomen. "All we can do now is help it continue its life... even though the chances may be slim..."
"The Divine Edge is Shadowless!"
Vizette waved her wand, and a sword aura pierced through the fence, cleaving Mossag in two.
The power of this Divine Sharpness Shadowless Spell was exceptionally strong. The whooshing sound that cut through the air was like a thunderclap, followed by a series of sounds of trees falling to the ground.
"Mosag!" Aragog seemed to sense something and let out a mournful wail.
Vizette pointed her wand at Aragog, "Transformation!"
The giant, hemispherical spider web transformed into a massive cage, not only imprisoning Aragog but also drowning out its cries of agony.
After doing all this, Vizette put the wand in her pocket, her entire body covered in flame-like feathers.
He slowly lowered his body, and a single, glistening phoenix tear slid down his cheek.
Phoenix Tears fell onto the hideous wound on her neck, and the previously everted wound quickly closed up. Her shriveled body slowly filled out, and beautiful muscle lines gradually emerged.
