"I graded several exam papers, and surprisingly, no one remembered that I like lilacs. That's the color of forget-me-nots, so easy to remember! I mentioned it in the book 'Snowman'..."
While Lockhart was grading homework, Vizzet unexpectedly drifted off into daydreams, reminiscing about Quirrell's Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
I wonder how Quirrell is doing now, and how much he has mastered the Philosopher's Stone...
It wasn't just Wizette who missed Quirrell; his roommates felt the same way.
“At least Quirrell gives lectures,” Michael complained. “But this Gilderoy Lockhart… does he expect me to admire him? I don’t like men!”
“It’s Professor Quirrell…” Wizette corrected quietly.
Anthony agreed, saying, "Yes! I'd rather call him Professor Quirrell than Lockhart!"
Lockhart finally finished grading the papers and clapped his hands. "Very good! Two students got full marks! Let me see..."
"Hermione Granger of Gryffindor and Vizette Lovegood of Ravenclaw, you have earned ten points for your respective houses!"
Michael stared at Vizette in disbelief. "Vizette! You actually... got a perfect score? I can't accept that!"
The other roommates also had expressions of disapproval.
Wizette explained calmly, "I just don't like blank spaces. It's my insistence to finish the entire exam and ensure the highest possible accuracy."
“He’s right, this test paper is indeed easy. Anyone who has read his book can find the answers in it.”
“It’s not that bad, actually.” He opened the book “Walking with Trolls” again, pointing to the annotations, and said, “There’s still a lot of useful content in it.”
Chris curiously pulled the book over, quickly flipped through a page, and asked, "Are we really reading the same book?"
“Some supplementary academic books are needed for reference,” Wizette explained. “Some of the theories in them are quite interesting.”
"Methods for dealing with various dark magic creatures can actually be found in academic books, but it's quite troublesome."
“Looks like I need to really examine these books… I was definitely too subjective before.” Chris pushed the book back. “As a Ravenclaw, I can’t just read them and call them a day!”
Anthony and the others also curiously read a few pages and asked Wizette for a list of academic books, intending to read them in another way.
Lockhart then brought up a large iron cage, covered with a red cloth, which emitted sharp, chattering sounds as it was shaken.
"This course is called Defense Against the Dark Arts! So you will face all sorts of Dark Magic challenges!" He placed his hand on the veil, his expression and tone becoming serious.
"You will not only have to fend off all kinds of curses and evil spells, but you will also have to face terrifying dark magic creatures! I hope you will remain calm in order to meet these terrible monsters!"
Chapter 82 Ancient Magic: Soul-Controlling Spell
Seeing Lockhart's posture, the students all became serious.
They recalled their experiences in Lockhart's book and kept wondering what the dark magic creature in the iron cage could be.
Perhaps this iron cage is enchanted, capable of imprisoning large dark magic creatures inside.
Such as snowmen, trolls... or even more evil and dangerous creatures imbued with dark magic!
Lockhart bared his eight teeth again and abruptly pulled back the veil.
The students finally saw the creature under the tarpaulin, but because it was so different from what they had imagined, some of the boys couldn't help but let out short, piercing laughs.
A group of tiny elves, clinging to the iron cage and shaking it, bared their teeth and screamed at the students, their pure black eyes radiating malice.
These little elves are only XXX in danger level, and because they mainly come from Cornwall, they are also known as "Cornwall elves".
Like Peeves, they are very mischievous and love to play all sorts of pranks and destroy everything around them.
Lockhart, seemingly embarrassed by the students' laughter, reached for the bolt on the iron cage door.
"Since you're all so confident, let me see how you plan to deal with these monsters!"
He suddenly pulled open the bolt, and the elves, realizing they were free again, cheered and swarmed out of their cages, attacking the still smiling students.
The sprite was faster than expected, darting into the students like a gust of wind and wreaking havoc.
They grabbed ink bottles and threw them everywhere. The bottles shattered on the ground, splattering ink everywhere and making the already chaotic scene even worse.
Vizette raised his wrist and cast the Staffless Silent Levitation Charm, controlling all the ink bottles that were attacking him.
He took out his wand and pointed it at the ink bottles, turning them into small iron cages. He then used the Levitation Charm to control the cages, making them chase after the flying sprites.
With Vizette as the center, the surrounding Ravenclaws are relatively safe, and they can also help drive away the Pokémon and put them into small cages.
The small iron cage was very cramped, and the little elves couldn't move around freely inside, with no chance of escaping.
The Gryffindor students are also trying to find a solution.
Seamus and Dean hid under the table, using Lockhart's work as weapons, waiting for an opportunity to launch an attack;
Ron and Harry worked together, using Lockhart's writings as weapons to drive away the elves that tried to attack them;
Hermione's method was even more ingenious: she used a freezing spell to freeze the two elves and put them into a small iron cage controlled by Vizzet.
With small iron cages chasing after them, the elves realized that Vizet was not someone to be trifled with, so they turned their attention to Lockhart.
They constantly harass various Lockharts, either throwing ink bottles at the portrait, tearing it in half together, or attacking the Lockhart himself.
Lockhart looked extremely disheveled, as if he had no other choice, and suddenly waved his wand and roared, "Peschich Pixie Pestnomi!"
The spell failed to work; the sprite let out a sharp cry, as if mocking the spell.
They swooped down on Lockhart, one of the sprites drawing his attention while the other grabbed the wand and pulled it from Lockhart's hand.
“Peschpichipestronomi? What kind of spell is that?” Vizette heard the chanting and subconsciously read it aloud.
He had a deep understanding of home magic and felt that Lockhart's incantations were very similar to home magic.
"Peski...piksi...Pester...no...mi...Annoying little sprite, leave me alone?"
The "Practical Guide to Wizardry" in my mind automatically opened, absorbing ancient magical power as its pages turned. On one blank page, text appeared:
Ancient Magic: Soul-Controlling Spells: Guiding ancient magical power...purifying the Soul-Stealing Spell...penetrating the soul...controlling living beings...
Vizette was somewhat surprised, "It actually became an ancient spell, and this ancient spell is quite special, as it is based on the Imperius Curse."
"Help me...help me..." Just as Vizette was trying to understand the Ancient Magic: Soul-Controlling Spell, Neville's cries rang out.
The two little elves let out a strange laugh. They grabbed Neville by the ears and lifted him up together, seemingly intending to raise him even higher and hang him on the dragon's skeleton.
Ancient Magic: Soul-Controlling Spell!
Vizette waved her wand, silently pumping ancient magical power from its core.
Similar to the feeling of casting the Imperius Curse, a tingling, warm current also extended from the tip of the wand.
This time, however, the feeling was gentler, and the little sprites he controlled were not so stiff in their movements; they could even be described as agile.
Vizette commanded the two little elves: Stop where you are.
The little elf, still clutching Neville's ear, continued to laugh. Instead of flying any further upward, it hovered in mid-air, swaying back and forth, looking exhausted and unable to ascend any further.
Neville screamed twice more, struggling to break free from the elf's control.
Vizette waved her wand, and the fragments of two ink bottles flew up, turning into a soft cushion that caught Neville as he fell to the ground.
He raised his hand and made a grasping motion, and two small iron cages flew over, enveloping the two little elves controlled by the "Ancient Magic: Soul-Controlling Spell".
"Phew..." Neville touched the cushion beneath him, swallowing hard, still shaken. "Thank you, Vizette!"
Vizette smiled and said, "Please do me a favor and help me catch these little sprites. I want to finish class on time."
The other students also heard this and, with the same idea in mind, organized a counterattack with Vizette as the core leader.
Vizette manipulated the floating iron cage to continue familiarizing herself with "Ancient Magic: Soul-Controlling Spell," and with the help of the other students, she managed to trap all the sprites inside the cage.
He held his wand and flicked it towards the large iron cage, trapping all the little elves inside, thus dispelling the transformation spell on the small iron cage.
The broken pieces of the ink bottle, now restored to their original state, lay on the ground, resembling blooming glass flowers.
The students put the cover back over the iron cage, and the classroom instantly became much quieter.
Harry and Ron put down their books, wiped their sweat, and said, "Vizette! Your Transfiguration magic is absolutely amazing!"
Hermione stared at the small iron cage floating in mid-air, her expression becoming quite complicated.
With such a dense array of transformation magic, she didn't know how long it would take her to achieve this level.
There were still some things she didn't understand. Vizette must have used other magic to capture the fairies.
Looking at the mess on the ground, Vizette chanted the next spell: "Restore to its original state!"
Whether it's torn books or shards of ink from a blackened floor, everything around is being restored, except for Lockhart's portraits.
The students arranged their desks, and the bell rang precisely on time...
Chapter 83 Lockhart's Plans
As dark magic creatures capable of flight, the sprites' destructive power is undeniable, causing considerable trouble for the students.
The students felt a great sense of accomplishment when they were able to successfully resolve these problems.
When the bell rang, they filed out of the classroom, discussing excitedly, their faces still showing a hint of lingering enjoyment.
"I used a softening spell to capture a little fairy!"
"I just put the two little elves in a cage!"
"I knocked out two little elves! Those books are actually quite useful!"
