"Yuga... Dimlevi... O... Sa!"
In a daze, Vizette felt an itch in her nose.
Hearing someone call him, he mumbled an answer, "Um... I'll get up now."
"Have breakfast, and we'll be almost there in Sweden!"
Another sound appeared, accompanied by a "whoosh" sound. Vizet felt a flash of light on his eyelids, followed by darkness, as if someone was blocking his way.
He sniffed and smelled the familiar scent of grass and trees.
He quickly opened his eyes, and a lovely, youthful face came into view.
Luna looked at him with a bright smile, shielding him from the brilliant sunlight behind her.
Sunlight fell on Luna's fluffy long hair, making it look like a fuzzy halo behind a god.
"Time to get up!" she said softly again, her voice lazy and almost like a murmur.
Vizette blinked, sensing that there was something else in front of her.
He instinctively reached out and grabbed a leaf, which immediately floated up and flew back into Luna's hand.
Luna asked, somewhat boastfully, "Teacher Vizette, wasn't my levitation spell pretty good?"
It was obvious that the leaf that was scratching its nose just now was the one that had been levitated.
“Exceptionally good.” Vizet rubbed his eyes, took a deep breath, and said, “I’m just hesitant about whether to continue teaching you the Fire-Starting Charm.”
"If I learn the Fire-Starting Charm, I'll use it to bake bread and keep warm," Luna said with a smile. "Only the Levitation Charm is for awakening purposes!"
Vizette smiled too, "Using the first spell I learned to start a new day is a great idea!"
"Vizet, get up quickly!" Xenophilius urged from afar. "I'm going to the restaurant first, you guys come over quickly too! Remember to put everything back in your suitcases."
……
The sky above the magical port of Sweden was also bright and sunny, yet a hint of coldness and solemnity could be felt.
As Vizette and his companions disembarked from the Vasa, they looked to the other side and spotted a massive doorway.
Inside the doorway was a continuous stream of water, like a rushing waterfall.
Wizards who intend to leave this place by boat must pass through this doorway.
Only after they were soaked to the bone could they finally board a boat and leave.
Even beside the ship stood two tall, clumsy giants.
They were carrying wooden sticks and wearing ill-fitting uniforms, like security guards.
Vizette also noticed that the people responsible for maintaining and controlling the waterfall's gate frame were not wizards, but two short, grotesque goblins.
A tall wizard stood around the door frame, holding a wand and looking serious, as if he were ready for battle.
Led by the guide, they left the magic dock, walked through a winding street, and entered a bar.
The bar not only has a fireplace with burning flames, but also a bubble floating in mid-air.
The guide explained to the travelers, "Compared to the English Flying Route network, Sweden has its own unique way of traveling—bubble chains!"
"You can think of it as another kind of Floo network. Put Floo Powder in your hand, stick it into the bubble, and say the location to quickly reach your destination!"
When it comes to tourism, people naturally hope to see some different experiences.
The bubble chain in front of us is a perfect example of what travelers expect.
They gradually shed the solemn atmosphere of the dock, and with great interest, pinched a handful of Floo Powder, which was then sucked into a bubble and carried to their hotel.
Xenophilius deliberately stayed behind last, waiting until the other travelers had left before standing up and approaching the guide to ask, "What exactly happened? Why did they need to check like that?"
"That kind of inspection?" The guide frowned, as if he had thought of something, and quickly waved his hand, saying, "It was just a small incident, so we used the anti-theft waterfall, the fairy's stuff."
“Anti-theft waterfall?” Xenophirus frowned. “As far as I know, that thing can wash away all spells and magical disguises… You’re saying this is a small matter?”
“I don’t know the specifics either.” The guide shrugged, took a newspaper out of his pocket, and handed it to Xenophius.
"They only reported the Obscurus attack on the Ministry of Magic and then launched an investigation. They didn't mention anything about taking precautions against travelers..."
“Silent Ones?” Xenophieus’s shoulders twitched. “Will they investigate our identities? We have proper wizard passports!”
"Of course not..." The guide hesitated for a moment, then smiled apologetically before continuing, "They might check my identity again on the return trip."
"However, the Swedish Ministry of Magic is very efficient. Perhaps by the time we return, the Obscurial will have already been caught?"
Chapter 21 The Secrets of the Bureau of Mysteries
Dumbledore slowly walked down the ladder, and when he saw the waterfall archway standing in the distance, his smile faded considerably.
The fact that they were able to get fairies and giants to stand guard is enough to show how serious the situation is.
"It seems... the Department of Mysteries has lost something very important." Dumbledore looked at the phoenix beside him. "Fox, thank you for letting me board the ship. Go and take a good rest!"
Fox, hovering in mid-air, tilted his head, a questioning look in his eyes.
“I’m afraid not for now, since they’re on vacation!” Dumbledore smiled slightly. “But I think you might need to go find him later.”
Fox nodded human-like, flapped its wings, and soared into the sky, disappearing into the clouds.
After watching Fawkes leave, Dumbledore took out a piece of paper to examine, and his body was immediately drawn into a vortex...
The vortex returned, and he walked into a bright reception room. The note in his hand was burned, and he had forgotten the address on it.
Light-colored hardwood floors covered with handwoven linen rugs, frosty white walls, and sleek, upholstered solid wood chairs...
Simple and practical, yet with clever touches in the linen rug, this is a living room with a distinctly Scandinavian style.
Most importantly, the beautiful semi-circular wooden reception table was covered with all sorts of candies.
A silent man greeted him, “Mr. Dumbledore, it’s a pleasure that you could take time out of your busy schedule to come here.”
Regardless of the country, the Department of Mysteries within the Ministry of Magic possesses a high degree of autonomy and can disregard the Minister of Magic's interference.
The wizards who work here are also extremely mysterious and are known as the "Silent Ones".
They cannot reveal any details of their work to the outside world unless they die.
Dumbledore smiled and shook hands. "It's clear this matter is not simple. May I ask your name?"
“Just call me Bjorn.” The Silent One said seriously, “Mr. Dumbledore, shall we begin?”
Dumbledore sat down and picked up a candy. "The Aurors from Sweden were known for their swiftness before, so why are they so... flustered this time?"
Bjorn suddenly seemed a little uncomfortable, and cleared his throat, saying, "Mr. Dumbledore, since you've already signed the Magical Secrets Pact, I'll get straight to the point..."
"The lost magical artifact is the Eye of Odin, which is the guarantee of the Aurors' swift action... It can make accurate predictions for a short period of time to a certain extent."
Dumbledore said knowingly, "In other words, you are quite familiar with the practice of using short-term prophecy to lay in ambush at the appropriate locations in advance, thereby improving the efficiency of your investigations."
He was very familiar with this method of using prophecy; Gellert, who once led the UMNO party, used a similar technique.
“That’s right!” Bjorn nodded. “The English Department of Mysteries also has similar tools. As far as I know, it should be able to… collect and record the real prophecies.”
"It has a wider reach than the Eye of Odin, and can collect prophecies from around the world. However, those prophecies come from real prophets, are vague in content, and are not very practical."
Dumbledore remained noncommittal, glancing down at the photographs before asking, "How did you determine that the Eye of Odin is still in Sweden?"
Bjorn explained, “Once it leaves Sweden, the Eye of Odin will immediately return to the Ministry of Magic. This is a protective measure that has existed since the establishment of the Department of Mysteries.”
“If the Eye of Odin is used again, we can still pinpoint the location.” He took out several pieces of parchment. “Mr. Dumbledore, you can take a look at this.”
"The most troublesome thing right now is that the Eye of Odin has not responded, which puts us in a very passive position and makes it difficult to grasp its specific movements."
After reviewing the information, Dumbledore thought, "The other party seems to know a lot about the 'Eye of Odin.' Could they be... an insider?"
Bjorn said firmly, "Impossible! We've checked the Silent Ones inside; they all passed through the Thief's Falls, and none of them showed any signs of mental instability."
"Understood." Dumbledore had also entered into a magical secret pact, so he naturally understood what "mental disorder" meant.
This is a form of punishment under the contract, which even he cannot avoid; he can only recover through a long period of rest.
This indicates that the Silent Ones did not rebel, but rather that another force intervened.
Dumbledore's eyes were clear, and he crossed his fingers in front of him. "His enthusiasm for playing 'games' with you is not a good sign."
"What is the function of the 'Spear of Gungnir'? The information doesn't go into detail, it's only mentioned briefly, so you don't seem to value it?"
Bjorn replied, "The secrets of the 'Gungnir Spear' are numerous, but those that have been studied have already been put into practice."
"Its function is similar to a wand, easily manipulating lightning and water. Magic such as the Water Charm and the earliest Weather Charms were developed based on its research."
"To uncover more of its secrets, we need the help of 'ancient magical power.' Therefore, our focus is mainly on the 'Eye of Odin.'"
"It seems I've heard a remarkable truth." Dumbledore showed no surprise. "Could you elaborate on the 'ancient magical powers'?"
“This is an eternal and confidential topic.” Bjorn’s expression was extremely serious. “The ultimate research direction of all departments of mysticism is ‘ancient magical power’.”
"According to past records, all the magical items in the Department of Mysteries can exert power beyond the ordinary through ancient magical forces."
"This power is too ancient...it can even be traced back to the very beginning of wizarding! Yet very few people possess it. Mr. Dumbledore, you should understand what I mean, right?"
Dumbledore blinked. "I checked the records, and wizards who possessed 'ancient magical powers' did indeed appear at Hogwarts."
“Perhaps it is because of the magic of this power that they have been able to hide their whereabouts so well.” He stretched out his index finger and thumb. “I am certain that I know very little.”
"I'm actually very curious why you know so much about 'ancient magical power'? Could it be that... someone in the Bureau of Mysteries once possessed this power?"
