Davidian's Holy Grail War

"Calm down, calm down. Don't be so emotional. After all, you're going to leave Britain eventually, aren't you? Why are you so angry?"
Merlin tried to reason with him, but he understood why David was so angry. Just now, David had undoubtedly forgotten about his eventual departure and was only thinking about the eventual destruction of Britain.
Once Davidian had calmed down, Merlin asked, "So, what is your final answer...?"
“I will stand with Artorius, that’s my choice. And get out of here! I don’t want to see you again until that day comes!”
David felt ashamed of his choice. Whether by choice or not, making this choice meant giving up the person he loved and having to watch his best friend meet a tragic end.
Or to put it more bluntly, he chose to watch his best friend die so that the person he loved could have a normal ending.
He will feel deep sorrow for this for the rest of his life.
Merlin hurriedly left, as he was genuinely worried that Davidian might impulsively drag him along on the journey without considering the consequences.
After Merlin left, David roared and cleaved the table in two with his sword. Since he had made his choice, he would have to swallow the torment in his heart.
Chapter 48 The future has come
Davidian didn't hesitate for long; once he made up his mind to do something, he would do it immediately.
So he went straight out of the room to find Tonellicoe—or rather, Morgan Pendragon.
When he found Morgan, she was in the courtyard watching her three sons do their daily sword training.
David only knew Gawain; he knew the names of the other two, but had never even greeted them.
"David? Are you alright?" Gawain was the first to see David coming from behind Morgan, and Morgan turned around in surprise when he heard his call.
Her senses hadn't stopped, and yet Davidian had managed to get behind her without her noticing? That was somewhat frightening.
David looked at Morgan and said slowly, "There are some things I want to talk to you about alone. Is that alright?"
Morgan looked at his serious and solemn expression and already had a general idea in mind.
But because she knew, her expression completely changed, and she replied, "Gawain, Agravan, Gahoris, you may leave now. Let Davidan and me have some private space."
Gawain wanted to say something, but Morgan gestured for him to leave without saying anything. Left with no other option, he and his two brothers left in silence.
"It seems you've made up your mind, and you must know everything by now."
Morgan looked at David Ann, her face devoid of any pity or forgiveness. All the feelings they once shared had been relegated to some unknown corner of her memory.
“Tonerich…no, Morgan.”
I already know those things, I know your fate, I know how your life was completely disrupted by King Uther and Merlin, and I pity your plight.
But... I have to go over there. Please forgive me, I simply cannot stay here with you.
David finally made up his mind to speak his mind, for Morgan's sake and for his own.
His decision infuriated Morgan, and her emotions began to fluctuate uncontrollably.
Davidian could even clearly see the anger rising between her brows, and Morgan couldn't help but rebuke her:
"Why! Knowing all this, why did you still go to him! Don't you understand? I am! I should be the King of Britain! I should own all of Britain! All of this should have been mine!"
"I know, I know very well. But I have no other choice."
You can hate me all you want, and try every way to torment me, both physically and mentally, for the next few decades. I'm willing to accept it all, because it's the price I pay for the choice I made.
Now, all I can offer my remaining loyalty is to Artorius.
Davidian didn't offer much explanation for himself; he could accept any torment and hatred Morgan might have towards him—it was that simple.
Hearing his words, Morgan burst into uncontrollable laughter. She couldn't help but mock David: "What do you mean by dedicating your loyalty while you're alive to that wretched red dragon! Are you now going to say you'll dedicate your loyalty after you die to me?! You bastard!"
"Yes, sure. If there truly is loyalty after death, and you need it, then I will give you all of that. I won't hesitate; at that time, no matter how many times, I will fight for you."
Having said that, David turned and left the palace without hesitation. He had said his piece, and this was his final farewell. It was time to go.
"I won't let you go! I will never let you leave here like this! If you refuse to stay by my side, then I won't let you go to him either!"
In Morgan's hand, spiritual particles coalesced into a sword. This was her usual magical ritual attire, and she was consumed by rage. Morgan wanted nothing more than to tear Davidian apart!
With a mere swing of her sword, a dark storm of magic immediately swept towards David's back.
But David swung his sword and turned, shattering the attack. The evil dragon's armor was fully activated; otherwise, he would have been torn to shreds by Morgan's magic.
But Morgan's magical attacks continued relentlessly, striking David from the air and from all around him.
Only now did Davidian truly understand the level of the second strongest magician in Britain that Merlin had mentioned. When she was by his side before, her hidden strength was probably as vast as the Pacific Ocean.
However, magic is inherently countered by this dark sword. Taking advantage of a gap in Morgan's attack, David swiftly sheathed the dark sword.
[Moonlight Iaijutsu - A Flash After Reading!] When David wielded the sword again, dark purple energy swirled around its blade, absorbing every magical attack Morgan unleashed.
Davidian then used this magic from Morgan to begin his counterattack against Morgan himself.
Each time she casts a new spell, the Dark Sword absorbs it and counters with its ability to do so, thus countering her.
The distance between them finally began to close. Morgan wanted to retreat, but she knew that if she stopped casting the spell, Davidian, at his speed, could catch up with her in a few breaths and behead her in one stroke.
She has now been forced to the edge of a cliff, with no way out.
Finally, she could no longer bear it, and Morgan reached out and released a ball of light into the sky.
As the sphere of light expanded, a massive black vortex swirled above the two of them, with a terrifying blue spear poised to strike at its center.
Davidian understood her meaning: Morgan intended to wipe out the entire courtyard, including herself and Davidian.
"Are you crazy?!" Davidian finally yelled. If Morgan were to die at this moment, then why would he have made that choice in the first place? Wouldn't that be putting the cart before the horse?
"I don't care! Since things are already like this, I might as well destroy everything!"
Davidian was so angry at her words that he laughed. Why was this guy being so willful at a time like this? He was acting like a sixteen or seventeen-year-old child instead of a thirty or forty-year-old adult.
However, just before the spear of light fell, David rushed in front of Morgan, trying to protect him with his own power. At that moment, the Evil Dragon Fantasy Book at his waist flew out automatically, revealing its true form.
A dark purple dragon roared and shielded them from the barrage of glowing spears. Then, the dragon casually transformed into a fantasy book and flew back into David's hands.
Davidian had already grasped Morgan's wrist, although he knew that Morgan didn't actually need to lift a finger; he could activate magic simply by chanting or having a thought.
But now that Morgan has stopped, she probably intends to stop as well.
The atmosphere between the two fell into complete silence, and Morgan calmed down after his brief outburst of anger.
She slowly turned around, reached out a hand, pulled off the headband, and threw it to the ground.
"Get out of here, now." As she coldly dismissed him, Morgan's beautiful, golden hair began to change color in David's eyes.
From beginning to end, every strand of her hair turned silver. The future he had once envisioned had now come true. And the one who caused it all was himself.
David could only silently pick up the hairband and turn away. He knew he shouldn't say anything more.
He still couldn't change the future he had foreseen.
Chapter 49 Heading Towards Destiny
“Davian, what exactly happened? What’s going on between you and your mother?” Gawain stopped Davidan at the palace gate before he left.
He really didn't know what had happened, and he didn't want his mother and Davidian's relationship to suddenly turn into enmity, so he could only come to Davidian to ask what had happened.
David glanced at him and simply said, "Gawain, I'm leaving. I hope we'll meet again someday."
With that, he left without looking back. Gawain was left standing there, completely bewildered. He didn't understand why David and his mother had gotten into a fight, or why David was behaving so strangely today.
For the first time, he wondered if his brain was a little stupid, why he didn't understand anything about the current situation.
And so Davidian left, and no one knew where he went or what he did. Perhaps Merlin knew, but he didn't tell anyone.
He also felt there was no need to say anything, since people always need to vent their emotions, so he let David roam freely in Britain.
Time passes day by day, and today is probably just another ordinary day.
As Altoris brushed the mane of her adoptive father's horse, she thought to herself, while also recalling her training battle with Hector yesterday, a hard-won victory for her.
But she noticed that Hector looked increasingly tired lately, so she asked him yesterday morning after training:
"Hecto, if you have any worries, please tell me. I'm doing everything except reducing my food intake. Is it really because of my back?"
"Hmm, you're overthinking it. My body will be perfectly healthy even in ten years. But, Lady Artoria, your proposal really can't be described as doing everything."
Hector gave a nonchalant response, but if it wasn't because of his health, then what was it that was causing Hector so much distress?
At that moment, Artoria suddenly remembered something and exclaimed, "It must be because of Kai. Even Hector couldn't cure that guy's foul mouth."
But she was lost in thought for a while, which caused her to miss some time. When she remembered the morning training and went to the backyard, Hector was already waiting for her there.
She quickly swallowed the bite of bread and said, "I'm late, Hector! I overslept!" (A person who sleeps less than three hours a day saying they overslept, haha)
"You look so energetic, you really can't tell you overslept. Great, I'll give you a good workout today!"
As always, Hector picked up his wooden sword and shield and began his training for the day.
But Artorias keenly noticed that Hector's eyes were gentler than ever before.
It was as if he had finally let go of some things in his heart, things that even someone like Hector was reluctant to part with.
At this point, Altoris could only pretend not to notice and continue his usual training.
When the training ended, Hector, unusually, wiped the sweat from Artoria's forehead and said, "Artoria, Kai seems to have forgotten something. If we go after him now, we can still catch up. Go to town and get it for him."
After saying this, Hector handed her a complete set of knight's gear. He heard that there was a special event in town today, so Kai had already set off for town ahead of her.
