The Return to Hogwarts

Amosta remained calm, and any pity he felt quickly dissipated. Since Louise insisted on seeing the truth, then she had to bear the cruelty of the truth.
"I'm sorry, Louise—"
Amosta turned to face Louise and asked calmly,
"The name you just mentioned—"
The list of smuggled people sent by the Aurors was long, but both Amostra and Kingsley knew it by heart. They both realized that the name Louise had blurted out came from that list.
"Does it have any special significance?"
Amosta asked.
"so--"
Louise didn't answer Amosta's question. She stared intently at Amosta Blaine, her gaze devoid of its previous shyness and allure, replaced by a cold, unfamiliar intensity.
"The magic that Frazier seeks exists, doesn't it?"
Louise clenched her fists tightly, her shoulders trembling slightly as she stared at the two silent figures.
"Please answer my question, Mr. Blaine!"

"The magic that Frazier seeks is real, isn't it?"
Listening to the Muggle girl's question, bathed in the white sunlight, and looking at her pale, almost transparent face, Amostah raised his hand to stop the restless Kingsley. He stepped forward, ready to say something, but Louise at the door suddenly screamed as if she had been startled.
"do not move!"
Louise suddenly shouted, staggering back a few steps, her voice trembling.
"Don't move--"
Louise repeated herself, but her voice was much weaker. She stared intently at Amosta Blaine, who stood between darkness and light in the room. This man, who had undoubtedly stirred her heart, now seemed incredibly frightening and unfamiliar to her!
"Answer my question—" The voice was still weak, yet it was hysterical.
Amosta paused for a moment, blinked, then opened his arms and naturally lowered them again. His deep voice held a calming quality.
"Everything is as you see it, Louise—"
Amosta simply said that, but the meaning contained in those words went far beyond mere apology.
As I see it?
Louise looked at the small sticks that Amosta and Kingsley were holding. Just now, the two of them had used those sticks to accomplish all sorts of miracles.
Louise's eyes reddened, and she smiled, a smile tinged with desolation.
She laughed at her own foolishness—her brother had so confidently told her that magic existed, but she had dismissed it as Fraser's delusional fantasy. She laughed at her naiveté—to have trusted a man of unknown background and come with him to another country to investigate the truth behind Fraser's death, even though Amostella had warned her that this was not something she should get involved in.
But none of that seems to matter anymore.
"magic--"
Louise muttered to herself, her gaze finally leaving the stick in Amostella's hand and turning to look directly into those rare purple eyes.
"It really exists. Why have people never known? Is the government covering for people like you?"
Louise clenched her teeth, her breathing growing heavier. "Amosta Blaine, you can choose not to answer my questions, or leave my body in this country. You can certainly do that easily, can't you? But if you refuse to answer and don't kill me, I will expose you when I return to London. I'm sure you don't want things to turn out that way, do you?"
The threat was so weak that Kingsley felt a pang of pity for the girl, who had no idea what wizards were capable of.
The unwavering light in his eyes was enough to prove that Amosta had already foreseen this scene. Facing Louise, who had been showing him kindness last night but was now looking at him with hatred, Amosta was not surprised at all, and felt no blame whatsoever—it would have been strange if Louise hadn't acted this way.
"Alright, let me think about how to answer your question, Louise—"
Amosta smiled, thought for a moment, and said calmly,
"The Muggle government—your government—didn't cover for us—I mean us wizards. As far as I know, within the Muggle government, only the Prime Minister knows about the existence of the magical world—"
Muggle. Wizard.
Amosta Blaine didn't explain in detail, but Louise had already guessed that the word probably referred to someone who didn't understand magic, while a wizard referred to someone who had the ability to use magic.
"Some countries in the world that you know—oh, not all of them—have their own magical civilizations. The wizards in these magical civilizations have their own governments, which we generally call 'Ministries of Magic.' And the various magical civilizations form the 'International Wizarding Federation.' This organization, which once represented the world's magical civilizations, once promulgated a law that, even today, despite the federation's greatly diminished authority, is still regarded as the guiding principle by the Ministries of Magic of various countries—"
"What is it?"
A gentle breeze ruffled Louise's slightly dull hair. Even though her worldview had been cruelly shattered in the past few minutes, Louise still couldn't suppress her thirst for knowledge in the face of a mysterious and unpredictable magical world. Her trembling voice was filled with a desire to learn.
The Wizarding Secrets Act
Amosta said calmly.
"This law has been controversial since its inception. Many people have tried to overthrow it, but the mainstream voice in the magical communities of various countries still supports it. Furthermore, the Ministry of Magic of various countries regards any attempt to challenge this law as a serious crime. This law draws an insurmountable red line for all people who possess the ability to use magic—they cannot reveal their magical abilities to Muggles."
Amosta paused, then added.
"This law was enacted to protect the safety of both the Muggle and wizarding worlds. And it is the answer to your question, Louise. Wizards' actions are strictly restricted by the Wizarding Secrets Act."
The Wizarding Secrecy Act prevents ordinary people from knowing about the existence of magic. Is this to protect both wizards and Muggles?
This is utter nonsense, Louise thought to herself, and then she realized that Amosta Blaine's actions were undoubtedly a violation of this absurd wizarding law.
"But you used magic in front of me, didn't you?"
Louise stared at Amosta's face.
"You have broken your laws—"
"A single law cannot regulate all intentional or unintentional behavior, Louise, but we have remedies—"
Amosta smiled but did not reveal what the specific remedial measures were.
"But why did you do that?"
Louise asked instinctively,
"If this law is so important, why did you risk bringing me along? You know that the people who killed Frazier were also wizards. You must know that if the investigation continues, you will expose your magic. You could have avoided this trouble, couldn't you?"
"Wasn't this what you asked for, Louise—"
Amosta's faint laughter made Louise's breath catch in her throat, filled with resentment. He sighed softly, his tone gentle.
"As you said, Louise, the person who died was your brother. You have the right to know the truth about his death, the right to know who killed him. Even if this right is temporary, I think this is the real reason why the Wizarding Secrets Act has always been accepted and strongly implemented by the Ministries of Magic in various countries, even in the face of controversy. That is to maintain respect for Muggles."
Kingsley couldn't help but glance at Amosta, a feeling of admiration rising in his heart.
A powerful wizard is easy to find, but a great wizard is not so easy to find.
A great wizard must have great thoughts. For many years, only Albus Dumbledore has been called a 'great' wizard. But after what Kingsley just said, he sincerely believes that Amos Tower does indeed have the potential to transition from 'powerful' to 'great'.
Show respect to Muggles--
When Amosta's solemn voice reached her ears, Louise was stunned, and for some reason, her anger subsided considerably.
Magic and secrecy.
This could easily lead people to believe that wizards, who possess magical abilities, are a privileged class who think Muggles are not qualified to explore that unfathomable world, and therefore they conceal the existence of magic and keep it a secret from Muggles.
If wizards are also human, then this human race will contain both good and evil individuals, as Frazier's experience undoubtedly demonstrates. It's impossible for everyone to act spontaneously; maintaining a high degree of self-control is crucial to prevent magical abilities from harming ordinary people. Strict laws are needed to restrain wizards' behavior. This is indeed a form of protection for those who don't understand magic.
Louise was thinking this when she heard the usually taciturn Kingsley suddenly speak.
"You probably don't understand, Louise—"
Kingsley said in a low, hoarse voice,
"Mr. Blaine is renowned throughout the European magical world. He is considered by many wizards to be the most powerful wizard in the current magical civilization, and he is also the vice president of the International Wizarding Federation—"
Kingsley stared at the stunned Louise, his tone heavy.
"He was willing to take you to investigate the truth behind Frazier's death, and even deliberately exposed his magic in front of you, precisely to ensure your right to know. So, Angus Aeschylus, why did you say that name, Louise?"
Chapter 779 For Gold?
2024-02-29
Vice President of the International Federation of Wizards, the most powerful wizard of our time?
Louise stared at the mild-mannered Amosta Blaine, her eyes filled with astonishment.
Although she is not a wizard in the magical world, with her superior logical thinking ability compared to ordinary people, it is not difficult for her to guess the weight of these two titles.
Just make a horizontal comparison with the world she lives in, and the official positions of the big shots in the social organizations.
It makes no sense. Amosta Blaine is an outstanding young man, but how did he achieve such things at such a young age? If wizards don't have the means to maintain their appearance, and if Amosta's age matches his appearance, it's truly an incredible thing!
"Oh, I don't usually like to brag about these titles—"
Amosta shrugged, showing no sign of arrogance; he remained calmly smiling.
"Actually, I work at a magic school, and I'm more used to being called 'Professor Blaine' --"
"You even have a magic school?" Louise blurted out. "That Hermione Granger..."
"That's right--"
Amosta nodded approvingly; he had to admit, Louise's mind was quite sharp. His smile faded, and Amosta's eyes darkened slightly.
