The Return to Hogwarts
Page 397
“That was before; it started this year,” Amosta said nonchalantly. He sensed that Fleur was about to object, so he continued…
"I'll add this to the Warrior's Code of Conduct in the safety plan when I get back. Warriors who don't follow the rules will have points deducted even if they complete the project perfectly."
Furong's chest heaved violently with anger. She had never seen anyone talk about 'abusing power for personal gain' so openly and righteously.
Then, Amosta waved to the boss.
"I'd like to order four sets of these outfits for the champions of the tournament. Hmm, I'll let you know when to come to Hogwarts to take their measurements. How long will it take, and how much will it cost?"
"It will only take two days, Mr. Blaine!"
The shop owner trembled with excitement. She had already heard what Mr. Blaine did with bespoke clothing, and for her, this was the perfect opportunity to promote her business.
"As for the cost, not a single nut, Mr. Blaine, as long as you allow me—"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I can't grant your request—"
Amosta had anticipated the shop owner's request, and he shook his head.
"I can't allow you to advertise on the race kit. If you want to advertise, go negotiate with the fairies."
"I've already inquired!" the shop owner muttered angrily under his breath.
"Those unscrupulous fairies are charging enough for an entire fire dragon for advertising! Well, Mr. Blaine, I can offer you a discount. Considering each warrior needs to go through three projects, I think ordering twelve sets is a reasonable choice. Including attendance fees, you only need to pay me one hundred and fifty Galleons—"
Amosta hadn't expected his boss to be so meticulous. He raised an eyebrow and looked at his boss with admiration.
“Alright, it’ll be as you say. When you come to Hogwarts to take the warriors’ measurements, I’ll have Argus settle the payment for you—”
"You really intend for us to participate in the competition wearing those ugly clothes?!"
Furong's eyes widened, and she exclaimed incredulously.
"No, you can't do that!"
“Of course I can, Miss Delacour--”
Amosta cracked his neck, producing a series of sharp, popping sounds, then rubbed his temples and said wearily,
"Are you done? Are you planning to buy this dress?"
Fleur was quite annoyed by Amosta's sudden plan, and even forgot to show off the dress she had her eye on. He reminded her, and she then remembered.
"What? Oh, a dress!"
Furong took a few deep breaths, deciding to put the matter aside for the time being so as not to affect her good mood.
"how do you feel?"
A smile returned to Furong's pretty face. She spread her arms and twirled around, confidently showing herself off to Amosta.
"I've already prepared a dress for the Christmas ball, but I think this one is even better. What do you think, if you like it?"
"not bad."
Amosta said succinctly.
Hibiscus looked on expectantly, waiting for Amosta to give more feedback. However, Amosta seemed to have already said everything. He casually turned to look out the window, and when he noticed that it had started to drizzle outside, he muttered a couple of complaints.
Fleur stood frozen in place as if under a petrification spell, her cheeks gradually turning red and her breathing becoming rapid, while Gabrielle, who witnessed this scene, covered her mouth and secretly laughed.
"No more!"
Suddenly, Furong screamed in a fit of rage and stormed back into the changing room.
After the little incident at the Elegant Wizard Clothing Store, Fleur's enthusiasm for shopping waned considerably. She sulked and walked quickly back, ignoring even Gabrielle's quiet attempts to comfort her. Naturally, she didn't notice the slightly apologetic yet resolute look in Amosta's eyes as he watched her retreating figure.
ah-
Furong had intended to return to the school carriage, but then the wind and rain gradually intensified. Gabrielle, who was trying to keep up with her, suddenly sneezed. Then, Furong realized that Gabrielle's bangs were already wet with rain, and her thin, frail body was trembling slightly from the chilly wind.
Gabrielle looked at her sister, and her pitiful eyes immediately touched the softest spot in Fleur's heart.
"All right--"
Hibiscus put her arm around Gabrielle's shoulder, her gaze sweeping over the shops on either side.
"Let's find somewhere to take shelter from the rain and grab something to eat while we're at it—"
"Realizing it was lunchtime," said Furong. "She found the Three Brooms Bar with ease, where she could vaguely see many figures moving through the misty window."
Fleur pulled Gabrielle along carefully across the slippery floor, while Amosta glanced at the bar through the window. However, upon seeing it, his brows furrowed slightly, and he quickened his pace.
Touching Gabrielle's icy arm, Fleur's worry deepened. She deftly opened the door, which was fogged with condensation, and pulled Gabrielle inside to warm up. Then, just as she opened the door and stepped inside, a dark figure rushed out with incredible speed. This reckless fellow wasn't watching where he was going. Before Fleur could even cry out, she felt something hard bump against her nose, and then—
"Oh!"
The excruciating pain caused Furong to scream in agony. A powerful force threw her off balance, causing her to stagger backward uncontrollably. She thought she was going to fall to the ground, but unexpectedly, she crashed into a solid chest!
Amosta blocked Fleur from falling backward and pulled Gabrielle, who was also staggering, back to her feet. He steadied the two sisters, then turned and tilted his head to examine Fleur's clearly abnormal nose. He then sighed heavily.
“Potter, and Granger.”
Looking at Harry at the bar, clutching his forehead in astonishment, and Hermione rushing over, equally startled,
"Isn't today Hogsmeade's open day? How did you all end up here?"
Chapter 594 Disappointment
2023-11-14
Is there anyone more unlucky than me?
When Harry saw Professor Blaine appear in his field of vision, he thought with a sense of despair.
He snuck into Hogsmeade with Hermione, only to run into Professor Blaine. He also injured one of Beauxbatons' champions. It's said that the headmaster of Beauxbatons was furious after this girl, who appears to have Veela blood, was injured in Hagrid's pumpkin patch, and even Dumbledore was alerted!
Harry looked at Fleur, whose nose was bleeding profusely, and thought that this girl's injury was no less serious than the last time.
Hermione ran to Harry's side, and when she realized that the injured person was her opponent, a champion of Beauxbatons, and when she saw Fleur's miserable nose and blood-stained collar, her eyes widened, and she too was filled with shock and panic.
Amosta couldn't possibly be unaware of how Harry and Hermione got here, because Sirius was pushing his way through the impenetrable crowd and squeezing into the inner circle!
"let me see--"
Fleur's miserable state gave Amosta a headache; the girl certainly seemed to be having a run of bad luck. He didn't question Harry and Hermione further, but instead squatted down and spoke softly.
Furong let out a painful sob. She didn't want to let so many people see her in such a sorry state. Her blue eyes filled with tears, and her gaze towards Amosta was full of grievance.
Non-magical injuries are not so difficult to treat. Amostah pointed his wand at Fleur's nose, and the trickling blood immediately stopped, and her crooked nose straightened up again. But the problem was not there. With the warriors of Beauxbatons getting injured one after another, it would be difficult to explain to Lady Maxim.
After helping her sister up, Gabrielle glared angrily at Harry.
Why did you hurt my sister?!
Fleur wouldn't be unfamiliar with Harry and Hermione, these two Hogwarts students. One was a champion, and the other was the person who directed her to Amostella Blaine's office in the Great Hall on the night she arrived at Hogwarts. It was said that he was none other than the famous Harry Potter.
The reason Hibiscus didn't immediately get angry was because of Amosta Blaine; she wanted to see how he planned to handle the situation.
Sirius Black finally managed to push past the burly Durmstrang students. He glanced at Harry and Hermione, who were bewildered by the situation, and then at Amosta, who remained calm. He felt a little embarrassed, since Harry and Hermione had been summoned by his letter, after all.
"Oh, I'm so sorry--"
Sirius Black shielded Harry and Hermione behind him and said apologetically to Fleur,
"The child who just hit you is my godson. We just had a little argument, and he got a bit agitated. So, we're willing to compensate you—"
“I’m sorry—” Amosta nodded to Fleur, his tone apologetic, “It was my fault for not fulfilling my duties.”
Fleur glanced at Amostella and felt a strange sense of loss. She realized that Amostella's decision to apologize to him was not because he was on her side; on the contrary, he wanted to take responsibility for the two young wizards at Hogwarts.
"No!"
Harry was still pale, but he stepped out from behind Sirius Black and looked at Fleur, saying...
“It has nothing to do with Professor Blaine. It’s my fault, and I’m sorry. If you’d like, you can punch me in the nose.”
There's no need to feel indebted; it was just an accident.
Furong shook her head listlessly.
"Let's go, Gabrielle. I've lost interest in this place. Let's get back to the carriage."
With that, she pulled up Gabrielle, who was glaring indignantly at Harry, and without saying goodbye to Amostall, turned and quickly left.
Fleur's nonchalant attitude only made Harry feel more guilty, and at the same time, his anger towards Ron intensified. But how to communicate with Ron was a matter for later; right now, he had to face Professor Blaine first.
Undoubtedly, he had created trouble for Professor Blaine. If the girl went back and told their headmaster, Professor Blaine would have to spend a lot of effort to appease Beauxbatton's anger.
"I'm sorry, Professor Blaine, we—"
Harry tried desperately to say something, but found himself speechless. Sirius Black stood behind him, smiling as he watched Amostella, seemingly certain that Amostella wouldn't punish Harry and Hermione much.
"Come to my office after dinner to collect your punishments for sneaking out of school, Potter and Granger—"
Amosta glared at Sirius Black, making him look embarrassed, and then spoke to Harry and Hermione.
“Now, get back to school immediately and stop wandering around, or I'll inform Professor McGonagall—”
Go then-
Sirius patted Harry on the shoulder.
"Don't leave the castle after dark, then have a good talk with Ron—"
Harry and Hermione felt like they'd been granted a pardon. Under the intrigued gazes of the pub's patrons, they kept their heads down and quickly ran away, disappearing from sight in no time.
