The Return to Hogwarts

"Is this your brilliant idea, Amosta? This thing is an alchemical tool. What can it do?"
"I was just about to introduce you, Minister—"
Amosta said with great interest,
"This is not my achievement alone. Many faculty and staff at Hogwarts, including Headmaster Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, and other professors who can be considered authorities in this subject, have contributed their wisdom. Ah, and of course, please allow me to be immodest, the inspiration for this came from me—"
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is renowned worldwide, and every wizard who is admitted to study there is an exceptionally outstanding wizard. Hearing Amostella say this, even the Aurors at the conference table couldn't help but daydream, waiting for Amostella to introduce his new invention.
"This thing is mainly used in teaching... Let me give a demonstration--"
After receiving Fudge's permission, Amosta took out his wand, turned around, went to an empty space in the center of the office, and waved it at the empty air.
Instantly, golden illusory sand seeped out of the void, and countless beautiful tiny particles of light drifted in the void as Amosta swung his magic wand, gradually gathering into a strange-looking thing.
Overall, this is a metal armchair with a closed space underneath. You can imagine that all the important structures should be hidden inside. Behind the backrest, many snake-like metal rods suddenly grow out. The ends of these rods are small, suction cup-like discs that grow from squid tentacles. These discs are facing the position of your head when you sit down normally, as if they are about to launch something at your brain.
"This stuff can make people smarter?"
Fudge left his seat and walked around the illusion twice with interest, examining the strange machine that embodied the wisdom of many Hogwarts faculty and staff.
How does it work?
For example--
Amosta moved his wand again, and a screen resembling a Muggle television display suddenly appeared. The screen contained squares with words written inside, such as Transfiguration, Charms, and other magical subjects.
"Suppose there's a wizard whose Ironclad Spell isn't very proficient, and he wants to use this machine to help him better master the spell, then—"
Amosta tapped the screen with his wand, creating a 'spell'. The image changed, displaying a magnifying glass-like graphic. Amosta wrote the 'Iron Armor Charm' on the graphic and pressed the 'Confirm' button. Suddenly, the flexible rod extending from the back of the chair began to twist, and the suction cups at its ends emitted a pure white glow.
"The machine will pull your consciousness into an illusion—"
Amusta glanced at Fudge, whose expression was gradually becoming more focused, and said with a smile.
"There, you'll see a wizard whose image I've pre-designed. This wizard possesses all of Professor Flitwick's experience and secrets regarding the Armor Charm. He will personally guide you in practicing this spell, pointing out your mistakes and showing you the direction for improvement. Just imagine, Minister, with a machine like this, you could have Professor Flitwick, who was a dueling champion in his youth, guide you in practicing the Armor Charm an unlimited number of times, or have Professor McGonagall, with her profound knowledge of Transfiguration, teach you advanced Transfiguration. Of course, if you want to learn my Spiritfire Charm, that's no problem either; I've already included the relevant knowledge."
Not to mention Connelly Fudge, even Rufus Scrimgeour was wide-eyed and involuntarily clenched his fists after Amosta's enthusiastic recommendation!
"For some basic standard spells, you can simply buy them to learn them, but for some special and advanced spells, you may need to spend a little more gold!"
"What price are you planning to sell it for, Amosta?"
Although Fudge's personality had some fatal flaws, how could he be a fool after serving as Minister of Magic for so many years? He immediately recognized the value of the item and couldn't wait to ask.
As you all probably know, knowledge is very expensive.
Amosta said with a smile.
"I plan to sell each machine for 50,000 Galleons for now. Don't be surprised, Minister. This thing has high academic value and is very difficult to manufacture; it's worth the price. Of course, Minister, to thank the Ministry of Magic for its support, I can give one to the Ministry for free once the workshop is in production."
"This is real?"
Fudge asked in surprise.
"certainly--"
Amosta smiled gently.
"The Ministry of Magic's strength is the guarantee of peace in the magical world, and as an honorary advisor to the Ministry of Magic, I believe it is necessary for me to contribute my own strength."
“This machine, Mr. Blaine—”
Rufus, who nominally controlled the Ministry of Magic's elite armed forces, also narrowed his eyes and stared at Amostella.
"You just said it can even teach others the magic you create, right?"
"That's true--"
Amosta glanced back at Rufus Scrimgeour, nodded, and smiled.
"But you know, Rufus, most advanced magic requires a high level of talent; it's not something you can learn just by spending more gold."
Chapter 549 Amosta's Wrist
2023-10-22
Fudge gave Rufus Scrimgeour a rather displeased look.
He knew his subordinate didn't get along with Amosta Blaine, which was harmless enough that Fudge was even pleased. However, Rufus shouldn't have displayed his hostility so openly in this setting. Newly developed magic was a highly private and valuable thing, and even if Amosta had said that his magic could be learned through this wondrous machine learning, Rufus shouldn't have made such a big deal out of it.
A unit worth 50,000 Galleons—a price that left Fudge speechless with astonishment.
Even when powerful families make donations, it's rare to see such a large sum, especially since this is an alchemical tool with wondrous functions.
Fudge examined the light and shadow before him, his eyes revealing shrewdness.
"Oh, thank you for your generous donation, Amosta—"
Fudge patted Amosta on the shoulder affectionately and smiled.
“No problem, Amosta. The patent application and production license are all fine. Leave the paperwork here, and I’ll have Dolores handle it for you later. Once it’s done, I’ll send the license to you via owl.”
“That’s wonderful—” Amosta said gratefully.
The two walked side by side toward the desk. Fudge seemed much more relaxed than before, and his gaze toward Amosta was much kinder.
“Astonishing, Amosta, I never imagined you were so skilled in alchemy—heh, are you finally planning to challenge Dumbledore in invention?”
"I will never be a match for Headmaster Dumbledore in the stone pillars game."
Amosta's little joke made Fudge burst into laughter, clutching his stomach.
Seeing this, Sirius, who was gradually figuring things out, secretly curled his lip. If he hadn't privately discussed his opinion of Fudge with Amostra, he would have thought that Amostra and Fudge were old friends of many years! Correspondingly, the aura surrounding Rufus and Dexter grew even more somber. They didn't believe that Amostra Blaine had chosen this moment to come over just to seek help from the Minister of Magic.
"That's right, Minister—"
Just as the atmosphere was getting lively, Amosta abruptly wiped away his smile, his expression instantly turning solemn.
"I have another matter to discuss today, and this matter..."
Amosta stopped mid-sentence, glancing blatantly at the people sitting around the conference table, clearly wary of something.
"Oh, what is it?"
Fudge's heart skipped a beat. Ever since Amostra walked into the office, he had been glaring at Amostra regarding Remus's affairs. To be honest, even now, he hadn't figured out how to deal with Amostra Blaine, which was why he had let that werewolf Remus Lupin squat in St. Mungo's and pretend to be confused.
“It’s alright. Amosta and Rufus are people I trust. There’s nothing they can’t know.”
After discovering that Amosta was still wary of Rufus and his group, Fudge, who had been hesitant about asking them to leave temporarily, made up his mind and said in a gentle tone.
"Alright, in that case—"
This time, Amosta took out another folded piece of parchment, which he pulled from his pocket. It looked much more cautious than the previous application procedures. Fudge watched Amosta's movements, a hint of doubt in his eyes.
"Yesterday, I suddenly received an invitation from Rita Skeeter, a well-known current affairs reporter for The Daily Prophet. She asked to meet me at the Leaky Cauldron. In the letter, she claimed that she had something very important to discuss with me, so I met with her—"
Amosta handed the folded letter to Fudge.
"After we met, Rita Skeeter gave me this list and shared some secrets with me. You can take a look first, Minister—"
Upon hearing the name Rita Skeeter, Fudge's broad forehead suddenly creased with fine lines. He took the parchment and quickly unfolded it. When his eyes fell upon the contents of the letter, Fudge's expression froze. Then, he hurriedly pulled out his glasses from his robe pocket, put them on, and buried his face in the letter.
A moment of silence fell over the office. Amosta, his fingers interlaced on the desk, calmly watched Fudge, whose expression was completely obscured by the letter—judging from the trembling of his thick fingers gripping the edge of the letter, it had probably given Fudge quite a shock.
The silence continued.
Sirius couldn't see Amostall's expression, so he exchanged glances with Kingsley, while Rufus Scrimgeour's brow furrowed even deeper.
what happened?
Rufus stared at Amosta Blaine's retreating figure, wondering what he had shown the minister. Why did he suddenly bring up Rita Skeeter? Could it be that Blaine really wasn't here for that werewolf?
Impossible. Amosta Blaine couldn't just stand by and watch that werewolf suffer. Black must have already reported the situation to Amosta Blaine, that's for sure. So, what's the current situation?
Crack! Bang!
Just as Rufus was pondering the motives behind Amostella Blaine's actions, his superior, Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge, suddenly made a move.
Fudge slammed the letter in his hand onto the table, and jumped up from his seat with a thud. The violent movement knocked over the chair behind him. Rufus even saw beads of sweat the size of beans on the Minister of Magic's forehead. It was hard to describe whether the expression on Fudge's fat face was anger or fear!
"What happened, Minister!"
Rufus's eyes sharpened instantly, and he stood up to rush over. However, the young man sitting opposite Fudge slowly turned his head, and the deep gaze he cast at him was like a bucket of ice water poured over his head, causing him to falter and feel a chill run down his spine!
"This was given to you by Rita Skeeter. Where did she get it? What is she trying to do with it?!"
Fudge's fat lips trembled as he roared in shock and anger.
"Just as you expected, Minister—"
Amosta slowly rose to his feet and calmly said,
"She wanted to put this list in the Daily Prophet. Rita Skeeter is a smart woman; she clearly knows what the consequences of her actions will be and how much trouble it might bring her, so she hopes I can protect her."
Before Fudge could explode, Amosta continued,
“I was also well aware of the consequences of this being shown to the public, so I refused her, which made her hesitate about whether to continue—”
"You did the right thing, Amosta!"
Fudge called out, panting heavily.
"Does this stupid woman even know what she's doing? If she dares to do this, oh, I swear, she'll be in big trouble. There's no room for negotiation on this. I'm not going to be so easygoing!"
Since the holiday, the amount of data pushed by the AI has been infuriating these past few days.
