The Return to Hogwarts

"The Book of Admission and the Pen of Acceptance!"
Sirius's eyes widened with excitement.
"Absolutely amazing, Rowena Ravenclaw, the wisest wizard!"
"Ah, that's a great idea!"
Having grown accustomed to Rowena's brilliant mind, Gryffindor was much calmer than Sirius, but he still clapped his hands in admiration. However, his brows immediately furrowed.
"However, magic that covers an entire country and needs to run continuously for countless years, well, that's not easy to do."
"We'll find a way. We all believe that the day when discrimination is eliminated in the wizarding world will come, won't we?"
"Loyna Ravenclaw said softly."
"Yes, it will come!"
Gryffin let out a heavy sigh, and once again focused his gaze on the island, now clearly visible and shrouded in gloom and darkness.
"But before that day comes, we must make sure the world is not destroyed!"
Chapter 431 Azkaban
2023-08-20
The world wasn't destroyed?
Sirius paused, then instinctively looked at Amosta, hoping for an answer, only to find Amosta's brow furrowed deeply, as if deep in thought.
Rowena Ravenclaw clearly understood what Gryffindor had said. She gazed at the small island shrouded in the only cloud against the azure sky, her eyes slightly dimmed.
The ship beneath their feet suddenly accelerated, cleaving through the waves and rapidly approaching the island. Amosta also stopped thinking and focused his gaze on the island. This island, named Azkaban, was the most heavily guarded forbidden area in the wizarding world. Most of the legends circulating outside were about the infamous guardians of this forbidden area—the Dementors—while there was little description of the island itself.
"Amosta--"
Sirius Black hunched his shoulders, his body trembling slightly. The gradually clearing scene before him reminded him of his days in prison with the Dementors; the fear etched into his soul quickly extinguished his courage and curiosity, even though he knew in his heart that everything before him was mostly an illusion—
"Are you sure we're not in the real world right now? It's just a memory, isn't it?"
"It's basically certain--"
Amostella noticed Sirius's unusual behavior, and in the blink of an eye, he understood why Sirius was so terrified. After a moment's thought, Amostella patted Sirius on the shoulder.
“If you’re not used to it, you can stay on the ship for a while. I’ll go down with these two to take a look. I guess this memory we’re in will end when Gryffindor and Ravenclaw finish exploring Azkaban, and then we should be able to break free.”
The suggestion was indeed quite tempting to Sirius. He hesitated for a moment, his gaze inadvertently falling on the sword at the waist of Gryffindor, who stood against the wind, and the rustling of his robes.
"I want to go—"
Sirius took a deep breath; his body was still trembling, but he managed to straighten his chest.
"It's just an illusion!"
Sirius was panting, his tone sounding both like he was explaining to Amosta and encouraging himself.
“I graduated from Gryffindor House, how could I embarrass myself in front of Godric Gryffindor? Besides, if James knew that I was so scared even though I knew it was an illusion, he would laugh his head off!”
"You can make your own decision, just don't force yourself."
Amosta shrugged.
The ship did not dock on the reef. When it was still some distance from the island, it stopped due to Gryffindor's intervention and floated on the sea, swaying slightly with the waves.
Amostella, Sirius Black (who was avoiding eye contact), Gryffindor, and Ravenclaw did not exchange any words.
Further on, the world seemed to have lost its color.
Everything that came into view, whether it was the sky, the sea, or the islands that looked like they had been scorched by fire, was gray and somber. Everything was so quiet, except for the painful groans of the air as it flowed over the islands and over the cracked rocks on the ground.
"A desolate land above the North Sea, the birthplace and annihilation ground of death—"
The sinister and terrifying presence of Azkaban darkened Gryffindor's expression.
"The clues you found in the ancient texts, Helga's prophecy—we have finally found them, Rowena—"
Rowena nodded slightly, her eyes dimming.
"Can you hear the cries of those lives lost on this land? Godric, you utter madman! I can't imagine what the terrible future Helga foretold, if one day such an evil person were to return to our world."
"Didn't we come here precisely to avoid that outcome?"
Gryffindor gripped the hilt of his sword, his sharp gaze even dispelling the gloomy aura emanating from the island.
Rather than calling Azkaban an island, it's more accurate to describe it as a huge, flat reef jutting out of the sea.
The only building on the vast stone island is that round tower. Over the years, the black exterior of the tower has become extremely smooth, even reflecting a faint light.
Something's not right—
Sirius finally mustered the courage to raise his head. He had been tormented in the tower for twelve years and had no curiosity about the towering building that stood on the island. The only thing he cared about was the Dementor that gave him endless pain, or even robbed him of his pain!
"The number of those Dementors"
Sirius squinted, suppressing his discomfort, and hesitated before speaking.
"Do you see those things, Gryffindor?"
Rowena Ravenclaw suddenly spoke, and Sirius immediately shut his mouth.
"Evil creature—"
The passionate Gryffindors spoke with a tone full of disdain.
“Yes, I saw it. I’ve never seen it before, nor have I ever heard of it. Let’s go, Rowena, let’s go see if it’s what we’re looking for.”
Gryffindor and Ravenclaw vanished from Amos Tower's world for a moment, then reappeared standing on Azkaban. Afraid of missing any information, Amos Tower didn't dare delay, grabbed Sirius's arm, and transformed into a ghost, flying towards the island.
Dementors!
This terrifying creature, now known to almost everyone in the magical world, was virtually unknown a thousand years ago.
This island had been untouched for centuries. Godric Gryffindor and Rowena Ravenclaw were likely the first wizards to set foot on this island after it lost its original inhabitants.
The Dementors that roamed the shore, having for centuries relied on simple emotions drawn from marine life, went mad the moment the two legendary wizards who founded Hogwarts set foot on the island.
Thirty or forty Dementors emitted hoarse cries, and wherever they passed, a faint white frost appeared in the air!
The mindless creatures had no idea what kind of magic their target possessed. When they were about sixty feet away from the two legendary wizards, Gryffindor suddenly drew his longsword and pointed it at the sky. The clear clang was even more awe-inspiring than thunder.
The dark clouds that had been hanging over Azkaban were torn open, creating a huge hole, and golden sunlight streamed in.
Gryffindor's eyes were disdainful, and from the lightning-sparkling sword, a continuous stream of power, like air currents, surged outwards. This strange power seemed to freeze space, and the Dementors that approached them were frozen in mid-air, even the tattered robes that possessed them stopped fluttering.
As everyone knows, there is only one type of magic that can affect Dementors—the Patronus Charm!
On Avalon Island, Amostella had also seen Gryffindor's Patronus, a majestic lion. At the time, the Patronus had quite a fright for Amostella, because the lion was a physical entity.
Before them, Gryffindor once again taught the younger generation of wizards a lesson: common sense can be broken, and Dementors are not only controlled by Patronus!
Meanwhile, Rowena Ravenclaw on the other side also displayed her magic.
She raised her slender wrist toward the Dementors, and the air instantly became hazy and distorted. The Dementor closest to them seemed to be drawn by something and slowly fell toward Rowena Ravenclaw's palm.
The Dementor was enormous, at least a dozen feet tall, but as it drifted toward Ravenclaw, it seemed to be subjected to some kind of intense suppression. Wisps of black smoke rose from its massive and terrifying body. As these evil forces left, the Dementor's body rapidly shrank, and by the time it landed in Ravenclaw's palm, it had become a 'mini' Dementor.
Gryffindor's gaze also fell on the Dementor, and for some reason, the seriousness between his brows deepened.
Ravenclaw clasped his hands together, and countless rays of brilliant holy light slid out from between his palms.
"stop!"
At the edge of the island, Amostella, who had just landed, glared at Ravenclaw with murderous intent under Sirius's astonished gaze, and resolutely raised his wand!
Chapter 432 Dementors
2023-08-21
The most notorious aspect of the Dementors, the guards of Azkaban prison, is that these emotionless creatures feed on the happy and beautiful memories of wizards. They drain the goodness from a wizard's mind until the wizard's soul is hollowed out, leaving only a mindless shell.
These monsters, however, have no weaknesses. Yes, the Guardian Charm can drive them away, but it cannot kill them.
Because of these guards in Azkaban, the Ministry of Magic has faced countless criticisms, but one thing is undeniable: these Dementors have indeed served as a deterrent to evil.
Ravenclaw was trying to dismantle these terrifying creatures, a fact even Sirius could see. He deeply loathed the Dementors, and upon realizing Ravenclaw's intentions, Sirius even forgot his fear of returning to the same place, his eyes filled with anticipation, eagerly awaiting what would happen next. But suddenly, a furious roar came from beside him!
It's Amosta!
Sirius had never seen Amostella like this before. His young and handsome features were twisted, and his eyes revealed a ferocious and ruthless killing intent. He pointed his wand at Ravenclaw and ordered her to stop!
"What are you doing, Amosta?"
This was utterly baffling, Sirius exclaimed, utterly bewildered.
According to Amosta's previous statement, what was presented to them was merely a memory, something that had already happened, and they couldn't interfere with it at all. Furthermore, why was Amosta so furious about Ravenclaw's actions in destroying the Dementors?
Almost instinctively, Amostella, his face contorted with rage, instinctively drew his wand and aimed it at Ravenclaw's retreating figure. Sirius's shriek, like a thunderclap, jolted Amostella awake from his dazed state; his body trembled violently, and beads of cold sweat appeared on his forehead.
"What's going on, Amosta?"
Sirius's voice was full of concern, but Amosta moved his dry lips but said nothing. He didn't know how to explain to Sirius that reaction he had just experienced, driven directly by a throbbing in his soul.
"It's nothing, let's keep watching—"
Amosta breathed a sigh of relief, then pursed her lips tightly and said nothing.
