The Return to Hogwarts
Page 203
A slightly disappointed sigh rang in everyone's ears, and then the world shook.
On the ground, countless pebbles gradually floated into the air under the influence of powerful magic. Remus Lupin on Greyback's shoulder and several centaurs restrained by the wolf pack were also gradually falling into the sky under the influence of some unknown force.
In the dead of night, when the air was bitterly cold, the ethereal mist in the Forbidden Forest strayed into this world and was torn apart. In the air, countless fine blue lightning bolts turned the floating pebbles into dust.
"Any last words, Graybury?"
Amosta looked down at the despairing Graybuck and asked softly.
"The Dark Lord will not let you go, Amosta Blaine!"
Greyback's desperate and agonizing roar rang out once more.
"I'll be waiting for you in hell!!!"
The carnage began.
Golden flames descended from the sky, like a great flood washing away the world, vowing to cleanse all evil. Above the crest of the wave, lightning flashed, and countless fiery beasts roared silently, engulfing the werewolves who were about to be slaughtered with an aura of destruction.
The world was left with only one sound: the dying howl of a werewolf.
A werewolf, its body coiled with fire pythons, screamed as it rushed out of the wall of fire and stumbled toward the Forbidden Forest. But before it could take two steps, a giant golden hand suddenly materialized from the sea of fire, grabbed its head, and mercilessly dragged it back into the destructive inferno.
Amidst the inferno, werewolves succumb to despair; beneath the golden night sky, death revels in its triumph.
At the edge of the Forbidden Forest, the centaurs, who hated the werewolves to the core, withdrew their gazes with pity and lowered their proud heads.
"Sad?"
The wind ruffled Amosta's soft gray hair. He smiled and asked softly,
"You probably won't find many compatriots in Britain from now on, Remus."
"Do not--"
Remus stared at the werewolf dancing in the sea of fire, at Greyback's silvery-metal torso gradually melting away, and at the dying Greyback still cursing venomously. He took a deep breath.
"The crimes they committed deserved this end."
The slumbering village of Hogsmeade gradually came to life with noise. Lights came on from house to house, and the natives, noticing the commotion, rushed frantically toward the hill. However, having been notified by the Dementors, a group of high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Magic, who had apparated into the village, arrived even faster than them.
Cornelius Fudge, Amelia Burns, Dolores Umbridge, Rufus Scrimgeour, and most of his Aurors rushed down the hillside one after another, making their way here with all their might.
From a distance of several hundred feet, Scrimgeour, the current owner of the Auror office, hurled a spell beam at the sea of fire. The beam grew longer in the wind and transformed into a clear stream of water in mid-air, pouring it onto the fire. However, apart from a few wisps of white mist rising up, nothing changed.
"That's Li Huo, Minister!"
Scrimgeour stared intently at the figure gradually descending to the edge of the sea of fire, his voice solemn.
"My God, it's Fiery Blaze!"
The portly Fudge was surprisingly fast; he actually outran the group of Aurors and was the first to see Amostella's face clearly.
"You, Amosta Blaine. You can't. Who are you hurting?"
The raging inferno stopped the Ministry of Magic delegation three hundred feet away. Fudge cried out in despair.
“You can’t do that, Amosta Blaine, it’s against the law!”

The people of the Ministry of Magic seemed to see a volcano roaring and erupting. The overwhelming sea of fire and the faint, tearing roar made them hesitate to approach, except for one person: Rufus Scrimgeour.
The others could only stand there helplessly, but Scrimgeour, as the head of the Auror office at the Ministry of Magic, could not stand by and watch evil unfold before his eyes.
"Put away your evil magic, young man!"
Scrimgeour stepped forward, bracing himself against the overwhelming pressure. He raised his wand and roared at Amosta.
Just as he was about to make his move, Amosta turned his head and gave him a cold glance. Instantly, the immense pressure that rushed towards him made Scrimgeour gasp for breath. In a daze, he seemed to see a huge, ferocious dragon lowering its hideous head, looking down at him, who was as weak as a speck of dust.
“Wait, Rufus—”
Tonks stared at Amos Tower in disbelief. She couldn't believe that her unassuming, humble old classmate would dare to use Fiendfyre to kill someone in front of the Minister for Magic and a host of high-ranking officials. Meanwhile, in front of her, the more experienced Kingsley sensed something was amiss. He grabbed his superior's arm, his voice solemn...
"Take a closer look--"
Kingsley said in surprise,
"Those guys... if I'm not mistaken, those trapped by Fiendfire are werewolves!"
Werewolf?
Everyone looked on in astonishment, staring intently at the raging inferno.
"Yes, it really is him!"
Amelia Borns, gaunt with sharp brows, stared at the half-annihilated, ghost-like figure in the inferno and spoke...
“I can’t be mistaken, Fenrir Greyback, the most notorious werewolf!”
Greyback's infamous reputation resounded throughout the British wizarding world; he could even stop children from crying at night. It was impossible for a group of key members of the Ministry of Magic not to recognize this werewolf leader who had brought them so much pressure and humiliation!
"But what exactly is going on?"
Fudge was sweating profusely and looked completely at a loss.
“Amostella, shouldn’t he be at Hogwarts, you werewolf, or Fiend?”
"You're right, Minister—"
Fudge's right-hand man, Dolores Umbridge, the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Magic, shrieked in a shrill voice like a little girl suddenly discovering a mouse scurrying into her bed.
“I don’t think any of us remember ever granting this Mr. Amosta Blaine any authorization to use the evil spell Fiendfire, oh well. Unless, he got permission from someone else!”
"Dumbledore has no right to authorize anyone to use such terrible magic!"
Fudge's mind was always particularly sharp at times like this, and he immediately understood Umbridge's implication, saying angrily.
Ms. Burns glanced at Umbridge, pursed her lips but said nothing, her expression much like Professor McGonagall's when she caught a young wizard misbehaving in class.
The screams from the raging flames gradually faded until they were inaudible. On the scorched earth that had melted, the werewolves left not even a corpse. On the crystallized ground, only dark outlines remained.
call--
Amosta waved his wand, and in the blink of an eye, the Fiery Blaze that seemed to burn the heavens and earth vanished like a dream. From the deep crater in front of him, plumes of smoke shot straight up into the dark sky.
The Ministry of Magic employees all drew their wands and aimed them at Amostella, but Amostella ignored them and instead slowly walked toward the centaurs who were rushing toward him.
“We have come for our people who were abducted by Greyback, Mr. Blaine—”
After witnessing all this, even the fiercely independent people had no choice but to lower their proud heads to the wizard they disliked. Ferenze humbly bowed his head and said.
"Um--"
Amostella nodded slightly, and the centaurs lying beside Remus automatically floated towards their brethren.
"I should thank you for your efforts tonight in saving several young wizards and staff members at Hogwarts."
Bain's rugged brows furrowed. He wanted to question why Amosta Blaine knew all this, but Ronan snorted, stopping him from speaking. The quick-witted Ferenze immediately remembered that a wizard had used shapeshifting to kidnap one of their brethren that night, without harming the centaur.
“We are the ones who should be grateful, Mr. Blaine. If it weren’t for you, we members of our clan would probably not have escaped a tragic end.”
Ferrenzer realized that this powerful human wizard was not the same as Dumbledore, and he cautiously said,
"The people of Ma will remember your kindness, and we are willing to repay this kindness if given the opportunity."
Not bad, you're pretty good at it.
"It was nothing," Amosta smiled slightly. "Don't worry about it."
Ferrenze glanced at the people from the Ministry of Magic and said in a low voice,
"We do not wish to deal with the Ministry of Magic, the wizarding world, Mr. Blaine. We will take our leave then, and you are welcome to visit the Forbidden Forest anytime."
After obtaining Amosta's permission, Ferenze, Ronan, and Bain led their people away immediately, quickly disappearing into the dark Forbidden Forest.
On the high slope, almost all the villagers of Hogsmeade had gathered. Amid the bustling crowd, flashes of light occasionally went off as villagers with cameras recorded the scene.
With everyone watching, Fudge knew that the Ministry of Magic had to take some action.
"Amosta, what on earth is going on—"
"Excuse me--"
Amostella interrupted Fudge, glancing pityingly at Remus, who had fainted again on the ground, and politely requested,
"Could someone please take this poor man to St. Mungo's? He's badly injured and probably won't live to see what happened."
"Who is this person, a villager from Hogsmeade?"
Ms. Burns' monocle gleamed sharply in the moonlight as she stared into Amosta's eyes and questioned him.
"Remus Lupin, I'm sure you all know him. He's currently the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He's been persecuted by werewolves, poor fellow. I think he probably can't stay in his professorship any longer—"
Remus Lupin, that werewolf?
Dumbledore had strongly recommended this werewolf to become a professor at the school last August, which was no secret among the higher-ups in the Ministry of Magic.
Fudge was clearly reluctant to give the order, but when Amosta's gaze fell upon him, a sudden surge of anxiety compelled him to react.
“Okay, okay, but, Amosta, you have to explain—”
Fudge wiped the sweat from his brow and turned to look at Rufus. The Auror's office was equally unwilling to accept the assignment from a dark wizard who could wield such a powerful Fiendfire spell. However, under the watchful eyes of everyone, he couldn't pretend he hadn't seen the minister's signal, so he frowned and looked behind him.
