Garp was panicking inside, but he didn't show it on his face. "Sengoku, what are you talking about? How could I possibly agree to the Pirate King's request? I'm a Marine hero, I would never do such a thing!" After saying that, he went to rummage through Fleet Admiral Sengoku's drawer.

These two best buddies have been together for so many years, and they've even shared the same pair of pants. Sengoku knows Garp too well. "Garp, you might be able to fool me today, but can you fool the Five Elders? You damn bastard, you're always causing me trouble."

Marshal Sengoku was so angry that he kicked Garp, sending the old man flying several meters away, as he stared at the guy who was stealing his senbei right in front of him. "How many times have I told you not to steal my senbei, you old bastard!"

In the early versions of One Piece before Haki was introduced, Smoker chased the future Pirate King through several countries, easily bullying Luffy and his crew. The effects of the alcohol wore off during the battle. Buggy had been blinded by the information in the sky, but in reality, he didn't have the strength to do so. Without Haki, he couldn't harm a Logia-type Devil Fruit user. If he had known this, he would have left earlier.
