Even if those souls returned with flaws, it would still be an unparalleled miracle.

In addition, the Resurrection Stone has another special feature—among the three Deathly Hallows, it is the only one engraved with the Peverell's emblem.

Cyrus removed the resurrection stone from the ring; the ring itself was of no use to him. He was considering whether to destroy it.

After all, Voldemort was also his enemy.

Cyrus didn't believe that Voldemort would not see him as a thorn in his side if he knew that one of his Horcruxes had been resurrected but he had lost control of it.

To put it another way, there might still be a chance to resolve the conflict between him and Dumbledore, but as long as Voldemort learns of Cyrus's existence, he will definitely try every means to get rid of this "imposter".

Moreover, Cyrus believed that Voldemort probably already knew of his existence. After all, the Ministry of Magic had already spread the "Tom Riddle" arrest warrant throughout Britain.

Although Voldemort is currently in the dark forests of Albania, Cyrus believes that Dumbledore, in order to test Voldemort, will surely send news of his resurrection to Voldemort's ears. As for what action Voldemort will take, Cyrus has no idea.

"I don't need the Resurrection Stone right now, but it's a good backup plan. As for the other two Deathly Hallows—"

Cyrus recalled that not long ago he had planned to escape Hogwarts with Harry's Invisibility Cloak, but Dumbledore had seen through his plan. In the end, he couldn't take the Invisibility Cloak with him.

All of this seems like a coincidence, but considering that neither Dumbledore nor Grindelwald had ever possessed three Deathly Hallows at the same time before, it seems unlikely to be a coincidence.

It was as if some force in their destiny was preventing them from collecting all the Deathly Hallows.

Chapter 100 Whereabouts Exposed

After enduring nearly two weeks of hardship at the Leaky Cauldron, Harry finally arrived at the day before school started.

But just when he thought he would have to wait until tomorrow to see Ron and Hermione, he saw them at Florin Fosco's ice cream shop.

“Harry! I’m so glad to see you! Harry, we went to the Leaky Cauldron to look for you, but the owner—the steward—said you had already left.” Ron exclaimed happily.

He was probably reluctant to mention the name "Tom," and changed his address abruptly, but this didn't affect Ron's mood. He put his arm around Harry's shoulder and said excitedly, "I heard you blew your aunt's hair out over the summer?"

“Don’t even mention it, and I didn’t mean to, I just sometimes can’t control myself.” Harry got angry as he spoke, and if it weren’t for Aunt Maggie, Uncle Dursley wouldn’t have been unwilling to sign his application.

Harry almost thought he was going to be expelled from school.

"That's the problem, why don't they fire you?" Hermione was very puzzled.

"I'm wondering about that too."

"Come on, Hermione, you sound like you'd like Harry to get expelled." Ron rolled his eyes and laughed. "Maybe it's because you're the famous Harry Potter. I don't even want to think about what the Ministry of Magic would do to me if I blew up an aunt's name. But at least they'd have to dig me out of the ground first, because Mom would definitely have killed me already!"

“Okay, you can ask my dad tonight. We’re planning to stay at the Leaky Cauldron tonight too, so we can go to King’s Cross Station together tomorrow,” Ron said, taking another quick bite of his ice cream.

Harry grinned. He was somewhat interested in talking to Ron and Hermione about Mr. Cyrus's letter, but this was clearly not the right place.

“Let’s eat quickly, I have something to tell you,” Harry said hastily.

“We were just about to talk to you about Riddle,” Ron said in a low voice.

The three of them quickly finished their ice cream and then walked somewhat guiltily toward the Leaky Cauldron. After all, "Mr. Riddle" was still a wanted criminal by the Ministry of Magic, and their attitude made it seem like they were trying to protect him.

“Wrong! You’re the ones planning to protect him!” Ron slammed the door shut and turned to say firmly.

“Don’t do that, Ron. You know Mr. Riddle isn’t a bad person,” Hermione pleaded.

Ron shrugged and leaned back in his chair. "I don't think so."

“The fact is, he didn’t hurt any of us!” Hermione turned angrily to Harry. “Harry, you must know about Mr. Riddle’s escape, right? The Aurors in the Ministry of Magic are searching for him everywhere. He must be in great danger. I wonder how we can help him.”

She sighed. "Ginny is very worried too."

“Mom and Dad are more worried. They’re always afraid that Ginny will impulsively go to Riddle,” Ron said. “But do you think Riddle is really that mysterious man? I always feel that Professor Dumbledore is mistaken.”

“Speaking of which…” Harry finally had a chance to speak, “Actually, I received a letter from Mr. Riddle, no, Mr. Cyrus, on my birthday.”

"What? He actually wrote you a letter?" Ron and Hermione exclaimed at the same time, but they meant completely different things.

Ron: He actually dared to write to you? Does he have a death wish?

Hermione: He actually wrote you a letter, but why doesn't he write to me?

"Where's the letter?" they both asked at the same time.

"Believe me, it burned itself after I read it, leaving only this." Harry took out the Quidditch star animated greeting card he had kept, which once again caused Ron to scream.

"It's Krum!"

He held the greeting card in both hands as if on a pilgrimage, his eyes almost popping out of their sockets: "I was wrong, he was a really good person!"

In contrast, Hermione's attention was focused on the text on the back of the greeting card.

"Protector's Guard? Is this a curse?"

“He said I might need it this semester, so he told me to start learning it early,” Harry said, blushing with embarrassment.

He naturally didn't have a chance to practice while he was at the Dursleys' house during the summer vacation, but after arriving at the Leaky Cauldron, he focused all his attention on the new flying broomstick released this year.

“This spell seems to be the Patronus Charm.” After recalling all the books she had read, Hermione finally found the relevant information. “This is definitely not a spell that a young wizard like us could learn.”

“Really? But I think Mr. Cyrus thinks I can learn it, otherwise he wouldn’t have written it on the greeting card,” Harry said with a hint of pride.

Hermione couldn't help but punch him twice for his smug look!

"Watch out or I'll beat you up!"

"Didn't you already beat him up?" Harry cried out, clutching his nose.

“But the Patronus Charm is for dealing with Dementors, Mr. Cyrus. What do you mean by that? Does he think you need to deal with Dementors?” Hermione asked curiously.

“How should I know? He always has a lot of secrets,” Harry said. “By the way, what’s a Dementor?”

“The guards of Azkaban.” Ron shuddered. It was unusual; Harry rarely saw Ron show fear at the mere mention of Voldemort or the spider.

"If you want to know how terrible they are, just ask Hagrid. He spent a few months there last year. He came back with all his joy gone."

“I thought he was just sad because Aragog and the other eight-eyed spiders died,” Harry said.

He skipped over that topic and moved on to other matters mentioned in the letters. Surprisingly, neither Ron nor Hermione objected to Harry keeping these matters a secret and not telling Dumbledore.

Ron explained haltingly, “I think he’s definitely different, isn’t he? He even gave you a greeting card! But I didn’t expect him to have a backup plan. I guess he probably anticipated meeting Dumbledore.”

They didn't talk for long because Mrs. Weasley returned with Ginny. Ron remembered he needed to get some medicine for Scabbers, and Hermione was planning to buy an owl. Harry wanted to go with them, but Mr. Weasley led him aside.

"Harry, come here, Harry."

Arthur Weasley was a slightly balding middle-aged man, but his family was very kind. Harry spent some time at the Weasleys' house last summer, and it was one of his rare happy times.

"Hello, Mr. Weasley."

“Harry,” Mr. Weasley put his arm around Harry’s shoulder and led him to his room, “Molly might not want me to tell you, but I wanted to, even though you probably already know—”

“You mean, about Mr. Cyrus? I know he’s escaped.” Harry hesitated, unsure what expression to wear. But Arthur Weasley shook his head.

“No, no, with the Mysterious Man—well, maybe he’s not the Mysterious Man, but it’s not really related to him.” Arthur finally changed his tune and continued, “I meant Sirius Black. Although Fudge insists they were in cahoots, we haven’t actually found any connection between their escapes. Black escaped almost half a month before Riddle.”

Harry listened blankly as he talked about Sirius Black, but he didn't understand what the connection was between him and this person.

“Sirius Black is one of the most ruthless Death Eaters under Mystic’s command. He once blew up an entire street with a single spell, killing more than a dozen Muggles,” Arthur said solemnly. “And his goal is definitely to kill you, for his ‘master’!”

Harry's expression changed, but he didn't seem particularly scared.

“Harry, I need you to promise me—”

"—Promise to be a good boy and not leave the castle?" Harry said sullenly. But in the end, he couldn't possibly leave the castle; there wasn't a single name on the application to go to Hogsmeade.

“Not entirely,” said Mr. Weasley, who had never seen Harry so serious. “Harry, promise me you will not go to Black.”

“What?” Harry stared at him in astonishment, seemingly not understanding what Mr. Weasley meant.

“But why would I want to go looking for someone who wants to kill me?” he said absurdly. “You might as well advise me not to go looking for Mr. Cyrus.”

“Dumbledore doesn’t think Tom Riddle will be back at Hogwarts anytime soon. And his target doesn’t seem to be you, otherwise he would have had many opportunities to kill you last year,” said Arthur Weasley. “But Sirius Black is different. You have to promise me, Harry!”

Arthur Weasley was very serious, even a bit aggressive.

Harry felt something was off, but the only thing he knew for sure was that the Weasleys were the kindest people imaginable, and they would never want to see him hurt. So he could only nod in agreement, vowing never to go looking for Sirius Black.

“Now I finally understand why Mr. Cyrus said I was going to be in new trouble,” Harry sighed.

In the evening, Ron and Hermione returned.

The two of them seemed to be having a bit of a disagreement, and Harry quickly figured out why.

Hermione was holding an ugly orange cat in her arms, and the cat seemed very interested in Ron's Scabbers.

Harry recounted to the two of them what Mr. Weasley wanted him to promise, with Ginny joining in, but neither of them understood why. However, during dinner, another piece of news suddenly unsettled them.

Arthur Weasley put down the letter, glanced at Ginny first, then his gaze shifted to Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and he slowly began to speak:

"A letter from the ministry says they've found traces of Tom Riddle; it seems he was in Little Hangletonshire not long ago."

Chapter 101 Mad-Eye Moody

The secluded Little Hangletonshire hadn't seen many visitors in decades, but these past few days have seen a surge in out-of-towners.

The Aurors from the Ministry of Magic, dressed formally, questioned nearby residents about whether they had seen Tom Riddle. The person in charge of the questioning was Dolittle, the same man who had escorted Cyrus to Azkaban over two months ago. Now that Cyrus had escaped, although it wasn't directly his fault, someone still needed to take the blame.

Besides him, there were several other Aurors dressed similarly to him, as well as two people who didn't fit in.

Mad-Eye Moody leaned on his cane, his face, which was as bumpy as a toad, hardened, and his bulging demonic left eye swiveled strangely as if out of control.
