A room with stone pillars carved with many coiled and intertwined snakes. The towering pillars support the ceiling, which melts into the darkness above, casting long, eerie black shadows into the entire room, which is filled with a mysterious, verdant mist.
Even from a third-person perspective, Ginny still felt an unusual sense of fear.
However, what saddened her even more was Cyrus himself.
cheated!
These three words flashed sadly through Ginny's mind.
The truth has come out: "Mr. Riddle" is the heir!
Whether it was the attack fifty years ago or the attack now, it was all his doing!
It's ridiculous that he actually followed me seriously in "searching for the murderer." At that moment, "Mr. Riddle" must have been laughing at his own stupidity.
"You finally figured it out?" Cyrus easily read Ginny's mind as he slowly advanced among the stone pillars coiled around the giant snake. Each step he took produced a hollow, resounding echo in the ghostly walls.
He remained expressionless, or rather, Cyrus's expression was always solemn, as if he were performing some terrifying ritual. The rows of stone snakes on either side, their empty eye sockets seemingly watching him intently, like loyal and respectful subjects.
When he walked to a position parallel to the last pair of stone pillars, a statue as tall as the room itself suddenly appeared before him, pressed against the dark wall behind it.
It was an old, monkey-like face, with a long sparse beard that almost reached the hem of the wizard's robe carved out of stone, and two large gray feet standing on the smooth floor of the room.
This is the sculpture of Slytherin.
“Mr. Riddle…” Ginny cried out in grief. Now, she found herself having some control over her body. Although she couldn’t control her movements, her facial expressions were completely revealed, showing a crying face.
“Mr. Riddle…I thought we were friends…”
“I don’t deny that, Ginny.”
Cyrus seemed to be pulling himself out of Ginny's body. Transparent silver threads, like gushing mist, detached from Ginny's shell and intertwined to create the phantom of another form in front of her.
He looked handsome and gentle, more attractive than any of the boys in school.
However, people who are like this are probably the ones who know how to make the most of their advantages.
“I’m very grateful for your trust. If it weren’t for you, I’d probably still be stuck in the diary.” Cyrus was overjoyed, but seeing Ginny’s sad expression made him feel a little heavy-hearted.
To be honest, he genuinely considered Ginny a friend and never intended to harm her. Even if the Philosopher's Stone hadn't been successfully forged, he would have left Ginny in the Chamber of Secrets to await Harry's rescue, while he himself would have departed in his still-partially resurrected body.
Fortunately, with the Philosopher's Stone, he was able to do even more.
But now, as a friend, he has one last piece of advice for this reckless young girl!
"You lied to me!" Ginny roared furiously, like a raging lioness. "We believed you! We thought you would help us find the murderer! But you—"
"You mean deception?" Cyrus gave a mysterious smile.
“We all grow up in secrets and lies, Ginny.”
he said softly.
"I believe that through this experience, you should at least know that you should never trust something that has thoughts. You should also know not to easily open your heart to a magical item. Remember, keep the secrets to yourself and leave the lies to others."
Cyrus was like a gentle teacher, but the next moment he changed his attitude.
"—Provided that you survive today!"
He certainly wouldn't actually kill Ginny; he was just deliberately trying to scare her so she would remember the lesson more deeply. This little lion was too reckless; he worried that Ginny might start believing in anything with a mind of its own in the future.
Ginny felt an intense pain, as if something was being ripped from her body, from the inside of her blood vessels, from the depths of her bone marrow, from the most hidden part of her heart…
Her consciousness gradually became confused, and her vision began to blur. She could only see the shadow of "Mr. Riddle," which was not so real before, now seemed to be something she could touch. However, when she reached out to grab him, she found that the distance between them was getting farther and farther.
There was only a blurry, indifferent face and deep darkness.
"Wow--"
Her vision went black, and her petite body fell forward. Cyrus stepped forward and caught Ginny before she hit the ground.
Then, he took out a cloudy red crystal. Life force flowed within the stone.
The powerful magic within the Philosopher's Stone was fully unleashed at this moment. The crimson magic acted like dye, instantly staining the silver threads with its own color upon contact.
Cyrus first placed the Philosopher's Stone on Ginny's chest. The power of the stone restored the life force that Ginny had lost during this time. Her pale face became rosy with the magic of the stone, and her beautiful red hair was like a blazing flame, full of vitality and life.
She looked as if she were sleeping peacefully, immersed in a sweet dream.
Cyrus looked at her calm face and silently said, "I'm sorry."
Then, he tilted his head back and swallowed the magic stone, which was the size of the baby's fist.
The scorching Philosopher's Stone became his heart, each beat channeling the power of life into every corner of his body. Gushing magic intertwined to form a dense network of blood vessels, coalescing into bones and muscles—
He is resurrected!
Thank you Wang Yujian for the 100-point reward, thank you so much!
Chapter 80 The Second Dumbledore
Cyrus greedily inhaled the damp air in the sealed room.
To be honest, the smell here isn't exactly pleasant; the air smells like it's been rotting for a thousand years. But for Cyrus right now, it's the smell of life itself!
He "enjoyed" it for almost a full minute, during which he did nothing, not even conjure up a suitable outfit for himself. But soon, he snapped out of his reverie.
The journey of a hundred miles is only half complete at ninety; now is not the time to celebrate.
He conjured up a set of clothes for himself, exactly the same as the ones Riddle wore fifty years ago, and then took the Marauder's Map from Ginny's pocket.
On the map, the name Minerva McGonagall appeared at the door of the restroom, paused briefly, and then hurriedly left.
Cyrus imagined the stern female teacher's panicked expression upon seeing the words on the wall, frantically and helplessly relaying the message to all the professors and students, and then preparing to close the school.
Perhaps she will try to contact Dumbledore?
However, regardless of the circumstances, Dumbledore's name has not yet appeared in the castle.
The thought of Dumbledore gave Cyrus a bad feeling. The old man put too much pressure on him, and Cyrus was always worried that something unexpected might happen.
Fortunately, Marauder's Map doesn't make mistakes.
“I remember in the original book, Dumbledore returned to the castle around the time Harry went to the Chamber of Secrets. Maybe I still have time to get the Invisibility Cloak.”
The Grim Reaper's invisibility cloak seems to possess slightly less power than the other two Deathly Hallows, but it's still a treasure. What intrigues Cyrus even more is the legend—that whoever possesses all three Deathly Hallows controls death itself.
In the original story, the only person to possess all three treasures was Harry Potter, and in reality, he did indeed come back to life, returning from King's Cross, the Gate of Souls, to the real world.
What if I also collected all three Deathly Hallows?
As luck would have it, Cyrus knew the location of the three sacred artifacts and how to obtain them.
He barely hesitated before turning around and speaking Parseltongue to the statue of Slytherin: “Speak to me, Slytherin—the greatest of the four great masters of Hogwarts.”
Slytherin's enormous stone face began to move; its mouth opened, growing wider and wider until it formed a huge black hole.
Something is moving inside the statue's mouth. Something is rustling and sliding upwards from deep within the statue.
A gigantic serpent monster, its entire body a vibrant green, gleaming with the brilliance characteristic of venomous snakes, its body as thick as an oak tree trunk. It stretched its upper body high into the air, its flat, massive head weaving haphazardly among the stone pillars, as if it were drunk.
Finally, the basilisk slowly swam up to Cyrus and awaited his command.
“You’re a bit too big. You’d better be smaller.” Cyrus pressed his wand against the basilisk’s body and cast a masterful shrinking spell. The enormous basilisk instantly shrank to a tiny snake only the thickness of a finger under his magic, then slid down his arm and disappeared into Cyrus’s sleeve.
Then, Cyrus left the secret chamber. As he walked down the corridor, Magna's voice, amplified many times by magic, began to echo throughout the castle:
"All students, return to your respective college dormitories immediately. All faculty members, return to the faculty lounge. Please act immediately."
The students crowded out, and Cyrus disappeared into the crowd, following everyone towards the tower in the corner of the eighth floor. The students were filled with unease and anxiety.
"Fred, George, do you know what happened?" Lee pushed through the crowd, as if he were being swept along by the waves.
"What else could it be?" The twins shrugged at the same time.
Cyrus followed them into the Gryffindor tower, where Percy and a prefect began counting heads, mainly the girls. However, the further he counted, the paler he became.
Ginny is missing.
Cyrus entered the men's dormitory with practiced ease, found Harry Potter's bed, and quickly retrieved the Invisibility Cloak. It was almost dreamlike how easily he did it. He immediately donned the cloak and left the tower.
As darkness began to fall, Cyrus passed the mirror on the fifth floor, went through the statue of the one-eyed witch on the fourth floor, and walked out of the castle gate. While passing the greenhouse, he picked a few mandrake leaves and finally arrived near the Willow of the Beating.
From here you can see the castle and the Black Lake; the castle, bathed in the golden sunset, seems to glow.
However, the firelight will soon dim and disappear, and eventually everything will be shrouded in darkness.
Cyrus slowly walked up to the Willow and, before it noticed him, touched its scar with his wand. The volatile willow immediately quieted down.
And so, Cyrus, cloaked in invisibility, leaned against a tree trunk, and by the last embers of the twilight, looked down at the trails on the Marauder's Map.
He saw the teachers disperse in the staff lounge, each heading to their own office or house. Professor McGonagall led the three Weasleys to her office in the Gryffindor common room; the headmaster's office remained empty, and Dumbledore's name was nowhere to be seen.
Dumbledore hasn't returned yet, but Harry and Ron are already on their way.
They approached Lockhart, and the three of them lingered in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom for quite some time. Eventually, Lockhart was forced to go with them to the restroom.
Then, their trail disappeared from the Marauder's Map.
About half an hour later, Dumbledore's name appeared in Professor McGonagall's office along with Molly Weasley and Arthur Weasley.
Cyrus stood up abruptly, his breathing a little rapid.
Dumbledore appeared, just like in the original story. He showed up at the school, with the Whomping Willow being the furthest escape route from him. Apparition is disabled at Hogwarts, and Fawkes will be sent by him to help Harry. By the time Dumbledore realizes something is wrong and comes looking for him, Cyrus has already vanished.
"It's time to leave! Goodbye, Dumbledore—"
