Suddenly, she lost interest, her mind filled with images and a hint of jealousy.

Even though reason told her it was nothing, Cecilia was, after all, her fiancée whom she had loved for a long time, the woman she considered unique... But now she was sleeping in the same bed with another young, handsome boy, even if he was her own brother, it wasn't easy for her.

"Tsk, I want to smoke." Siegfried loosened his long hair, leaned back, and looked utterly bored.

Chapter 49 The Saintess and the Ragdoll Cat's Deception

Siegfried sat there for an entire afternoon, then drifted off to sleep in the living room.

She didn't know how long she had slept, but she felt a thin, soft blanket covering her, and then she heard some footsteps and clattering sounds coming from the direction of the kitchen, a noisy and fragmented din.

Siegfried opened her eyes drowsily and found it was bright outside. She picked up her phone and realized it was already seven in the morning. She herself had fallen asleep on the sofa, seemingly having slept all night, while Cecilia was busy preparing breakfast in the kitchen.

The little white-haired saintess wore an apron around her waist, her long hair simply tied into a side ponytail, exuding a graceful and charming air while also possessing a domestic quality. Siegfried was momentarily dazed; it was as if she and Cecilia had somehow gotten married, and this exquisitely beautiful and pure girl was now a wife.

Cecilia noticed the commotion when Siegfried woke up, and she looked over, her eyes darting away.

But after a moment's hesitation, she smiled gently at Ziegfeld and said, "Good morning."

“Hmm…” Siegfried hesitated.

Cecilia pointed to Brunhilde's room and said, "Bubu hasn't gotten up yet, so I'll make breakfast first. Um... I'll tell you later."

Siegfried nodded. Seeing that she didn't speak, Cecilia knew that Siegfried might be feeling a little bad. She could only shake her head with a wry smile and continue cooking.

...Cooking?

Siegfried suddenly realized!

But she was too slow to react. When she looked up, Cecilia calmly flipped the charred egg over and skillfully sprinkled cumin and cheese on top. No one knew what kind of egg Cecilia wanted to fry, but Siegfried knew very well that carbonized food was definitely not edible!

"Leave it to me!" Siegfried said, quickly entering the kitchen.

"You're coming? No, no, no, you can only eat the food you cook," Cecilia retorted unhappily. "Don't bother me, Bubu has to go to school later. Do you even know how to fry eggs and make soy milk?"

"Soy milk?" Siegfried hadn't expected there to be a crisis.

Then the blender roared, the hard soybeans shattering the blades, sparks flying, and a hissing sound of electricity crackling through the machine. Cecilia and Siegfried simultaneously turned to look at the blender, which was practically exploding.

"what is this?"

"It's soy milk."

"Is this how you make soy milk?"

“Grind the soybeans into powder and then boil them to make soy milk.” Cecilia lifted the lid of the pot with a puzzled look to see the razor blades inside, which were made from ground soybeans. “I followed the recipe.”

"Fun fact: the soybeans known worldwide are not the same as the soybeans that people in China like to eat," Siegfried said helplessly. "Besides, even if it were Chinese soybeans, don't you think it's a problem to use a blender with this hard stuff? Shouldn't you at least soak it for a while to soften it first?"

"Chinese people have such a complicated breakfast routine, why don't they just drink milk?"

“It’s just that soy milk is hard to come by here, but milk is even harder to get in China.” Brunhilde, who had been woken up, came out yawning, her little face full of helplessness. She hadn’t even changed out of her cat pajamas or washed her face and brushed her teeth before pushing her two older sisters away. “While you were arguing, the cheese had already gone bad.”

"Ugh! I knew it! Don't talk to me while I'm cooking! Cooking is so hard, I can't even think about it properly!" Cecilia pouted.

"I don't think it's edible anyway, so it doesn't matter if it's burnt or not. If I'm not confident in my cooking skills, I won't even go into the kitchen," Siegfried said, shifting the blame.

Brunhilde silently took over the mess and started making breakfast herself, which finally calmed the anger of her two older sisters, who had zero self-care ability. Both women knew they were in the wrong, and while arguing back, they immediately and sensibly gave Brunhilde the kitchen space.

He's the one who's sick and needs care, yet he's also a minor... I always feel like this family would fall apart without him.

Breakfast was served at 7:20.

Siegfried was somewhat proud of his younger brother's domestic skills. Despite seemingly having a family history of poor cooking, Brunhilde's culinary skills were quite good, to the point that his willingness to cook was almost a reward. Siegfried used to often beg his brother to cook, but now he cooked almost every day, being incredibly considerate.

While this was probably intended to give Cecilia a good impression of being a loving and respectful brother, Siegfried genuinely liked it. She also wanted to showcase herself in this way, but unfortunately, she was even less skilled at cooking than Cecilia. Cecilia simply had too many whimsical ideas and liked to cook dishes she'd never made before, so her attempts often ended in disaster, but at least they were edible. As for what Siegfried cooked… well, to put it another way, Brunhilde, lacking the powerful physique of a Valkyrie, had once been hospitalized by her.

Brunhilde went to wash up, leaving only the white-haired big foreign horse and the white-haired little saintess sitting across the table eating noodles.

The noodles were freshly cooked by Brunhilde, a traditional Chinese breakfast dish—basically just plain noodles. They were topped with a light sheen of oil, chopped scallions and garlic, and the noodles were as thin as dragon whiskers. Each person was served two soft-boiled eggs. There were also side dishes: a cold reindeer meat platter and thick-cut salmon. Brunhilde knew the Valkyrie had a large appetite, so she made sure each person had over a pound of noodles.

Siegfried didn't touch his chopsticks, looking at Cecilia as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.

“Alright, I know what you’re thinking, Siegfried.” Cecilia covered her mouth and laughed. “Bubble’s not here, so just ask.”

Seeing her smile made Siegfried feel a little annoyed. He immediately picked up his fork, tapped it on the table, twirled some noodles in his bowl, and said curtly, "What do I want to ask?"

Cecilia laughed even more heartily.

“You’re overthinking it, Siegfried. This morning I saw you sleeping on the sofa, with the air conditioning on but not even a blanket. And our bedroom door was open, so I knew you’d been here.” Cecilia rested her chin on her hand, her tone gentle. “I know you came back and saw me sleeping in Bubu’s room, so you started overthinking and even got jealous.”

Siegfried was startled. She knew that her jealousy was unreasonable, Cecilia was not her wife... But would Cecilia put herself in her shoes and think about things from her perspective?

"Putting aside the fact that Bubu is your brother, why are you jealous of your own brother? Take me for example, I'm Bubu's sister, and I will be in the future too." Cecilia's face was a little embarrassed, but she still smiled and said, "There's nothing wrong with me staying with Bubu, right? Bubu sleeps with you every day, and I haven't said anything. If you think I'm a girl and need to avoid suspicion, you can't even do that yourself."

Siegfried was somewhat speechless; indeed, she herself was hopelessly addicted to playing with ragdoll cats. Hearing these words, her jealousy melted away considerably.

“Yesterday, that professor from Bubu University said that Children’s Day is for children, so Bubu was persuaded to leave school this morning. After all, he’s only fourteen.” Cecilia tried using chopsticks instead of a fork, her movements clumsy, as she picked up noodles and casually said, “I’ve been so bored these past few days. You guys are all busy with school or work, but I’m just stuck in the hotel all day with nothing to do. It’s rare for Bubu to be home, so how could I let him off the hook during my afternoon nap? He can’t escape; he has to obediently be my body pillow—hehe, you can understand, right? Whenever Bubu isn’t doing anything productive, I can’t help but want to hug him tightly and tease him!”

“I definitely agree…” Siegfried coughed.

Cecilia said a lot, and it seemed to make some sense. Siegfried also knew that Cecilia was genuinely bored; she spent her days shopping or exercising with Shigure Kira, or visiting him at Bubu University. Bored and lonely, it was only natural for her to tease Brunhilde.

Besides, if she really had any ulterior motives, she could have easily gone to a hotel with Brunhilde... right?

Siegfried felt much better.

Then Cecilia gently took her hand. Looking up, Cecilia smiled, a hint of self-reproach in her voice: "Are you not angry anymore? I'm sorry. I tried my best to be a good older sister to Bubu, to make you feel warm and comforted, but I didn't expect it to put you in such a difficult position. I just think Bubu is just a child, and a particularly adorable one at that, so there's no need to overthink it… But if you're feeling unwell, I…"

Siegfried quickly stood up and grasped her hand urgently, saying, "No, I'm not feeling unwell! I'm sure I'm not. Saintess, there's no need to blame yourself or try to change anything. It was my fault! My overthinking affected your relationship with Bubu. Wasn't I being a terrible older sister?"

She immediately regretted it. Yes, Brunhilde was her younger brother, and he'd been working tirelessly for her blind date, even making breakfast just now! Wasn't Cecilia and Bubu cultivating their relationship to better integrate into the family? Both of them were trying to get along, and yet she was being picky and jealous, putting Cecilia in a difficult position?

Is this the kind of outrageous thing that my chivalrous spirit, Siegfried, would do?

"No need! Don't overthink it, really no need! I think you and my little brother have become quite distant lately, I know, to avoid suspicion, right? You only dare to bully Bubu when I'm not home, it's all my fault! But it's okay, from now on you can bully him anytime! You can take him to sleep, eat, go shopping, or take a bath whenever you want, and if he objects, I'll help you suppress him! Hahaha, do you think the Kaslana family is such a petty family?"

“Uh, no, that’s not necessary.” Cecilia looked away and asked softly, “I’ve been having nightmares lately, and I’d like to sleep with him again tonight, is that alright?”

"I'm willing to sleep with you, that's fine too," Siegfried said without hesitation.

Looking back now, it's true, Siegfried is currently the head of this makeshift hotel family! As the only "big" foreign woman among the little saintess and the little Ragdoll cat, she's big in size, big in heart, big in ambition, big in everything!

Cecilia pleaded with her pitifully, how could she possibly refuse! A petty person can never marry the Holy Maiden!

"I'm finished eating." Cecilia put down her chopsticks and bowl, displaying impeccable manners, and got up to go to the restroom.

Siegfried glanced at the time; it was 7:30, and it was time for her to head to the Nordic branch for work. Then she glanced at the table; Brunhilde's meal was still there, steaming hot, untouched.

Siegfried glanced at it and looked away, preparing to pack her things and leave. But as soon as she stood up, she remembered something and looked at the bowl of noodles again.

Brunhilde hasn't eaten yet.

—It's been served for more than ten minutes now.

—Where did Brunhilde go?

—Wash your face and brush your teeth.

Where is the place to wash your face and brush your teeth?

—In the restroom.

Does it really take more than ten minutes just to wash your face and brush your teeth?

--etc……

—Where was Miss Saint going just now?

Siegfried instinctively looked up, while Cecilia, head down, pressed her phone and strode straight into the bathroom, the door slamming open and then shut.

"what!"

"what!"

One was crisp and clear, the other childish and innocent; both screams were the same.

Siegfried slapped his thigh and burst out laughing. He knew without a doubt what had happened there! Brunhilde hadn't come out for over ten minutes; she certainly wasn't just washing her face and brushing her teeth, she was probably in the bathroom taking a dump or pooping. To bump right into her like that—well, it was definitely a family comedy early in the morning.

Asking "Are you alright?" at this point would only make things more awkward for the two of them. Siegfried decided to be a gentleman and not let Cecilia laugh at him when she escaped.

However, after those two screams, there was an unexpected period of silence.

Siegfried rushed out without even seeing Cecilia.

As she remained inside for a longer period, the atmosphere became unusually quiet. Siegfried was puzzled and was about to ask a question when the bathroom door opened, several seconds after Cecilia had gone in.

Siegfried looked over curiously and saw Cecilia push open the door with a flushed face, her movements slightly flustered, but when she saw Siegfried, that fluster disappeared.

She walked to the table, trying to appear calm, and sat down again, as if nothing had happened. "I didn't expect Bubu to be in the bathroom."

But in Siegfried's eyes, her ample breasts heaving rapidly and her face flushed were quite strange. She kept glancing at Brunhilde, who had also come out with them, until Brunhilde calmly sat down. Only then did she look away, but her once fair face was still flushed, a mixture of embarrassment and annoyance.

The little Ragdoll cat didn't look at Cecilia and calmly continued eating. Siegfried looked left and right; she felt something must have happened in the bathroom in those few seconds, but she couldn't fathom what could have happened in such a short time.

So she just made up a topic, "Isn't it disgusting to eat right after using the toilet?"

“Just peeing,” Brunhilde said casually.

Siegfried was about to leave when, before she did, she looked at Brunhilde, who was leisurely eating breakfast, and suddenly remembered something. She grinned, grabbed him with both hands, lifted him up, and placed him on Cecilia's lap!

"Holy Maiden, feel free to hug me! While I'm away, Bubu will be in your care!"

She grabbed her bag and dashed out, fleeing in panic.
