"What happened, Sasuke?"

Naruto saw Sasuke's expression change drastically and quickly asked him what was wrong. Sasuke then told Naruto everything he had seen.

"Bravo."

Naruto's eyes were shining; he had already made Karot his idol.

"Let's finish this quickly!"

Kakuzu, carrying the unconscious Zabuza, watched the battle between Karot and Kakashi. He didn't want to waste time waiting; he'd rather make money. He wasn't worried about Karot getting hurt. Kakuzu had traveled with Karot for years and witnessed his strength firsthand; he knew this kind of situation was child's play for Karot.

"What should I do? I'm no match for this person's strength."

Haku, who had been secretly observing Zabuza, couldn't find a suitable opportunity to appear. He wanted to save Zabuza but never had the chance.

“It’s very powerful, but it doesn’t work on me, my dear brother.”

Carrot simply stood there, using his energy to deflect any lightning that got too close. He didn't even need to lift a finger.

"Humph."

Kakashi hadn't expected that his elaborate and ingenious attack would have absolutely no effect on Karot. This left Kakashi feeling frustrated. He had considered that the move might not be very effective, but he hadn't anticipated that it would have no effect whatsoever.

Defeating Carrot would actually be quite simple; it would just require taijutsu. Unfortunately, Carrot's taijutsu was overwhelming in the ninja world. Aside from Guy, who had opened the Gate of Death, Carrot had a chance to challenge him. Carrot didn't seem to have much interest in anyone else. To coordinate with his brother, Carrot had been holding back, essentially playing a defensive role and never launching an attack.

"I don't believe it anymore."

Kakashi increased the amount of chakra in his body, and the lightning that followed became even thicker. In the end, it became like a waterfall cascading down from the heavens.

"Oh, that makes it even more interesting."

Thunderfall cascaded down directly onto Carrot.

"Aha."

Carrot began to unleash his power, and Thunder Fall stopped directly above him, its energy clashing with Carrot's.

"boom."

The two forces collided, and invisible shockwaves rippled outwards.

"Oops."

Sasuke and Naruto were thrown away by the blast wave and crashed to the ground from the treetop.

"Hey, it hurts so much."

Naruto stood up from the ground and rubbed his butt. Sasuke wasn't much better off, but he was just putting on a brave face. The aloofness of the Uchiha clan prevented him from doing the same thing as Naruto.

Even Kakuzu was nearly blown away by the shockwave. However, as a Kage-level shinobi, he managed to dodge it. Kakuzu brought the unconscious Zabuza to them and threw him to the ground without considering the potential for further injury.

"It's you."

Upon seeing Kakuzu's sudden appearance, the group was initially on guard, but they only relaxed their guard after seeing Kakuzu's face clearly, because he had appeared with Carrot and was not an enemy.

"Uncle, who do you think will win?"

Naruto, who was always very outgoing, asked Kakuzu, completely ignoring Zabuza who had been thrown to the ground.

Even Sasuke quietly approached the two, wanting to hear the old man's opinion. Since he could follow the powerful Karot, this old man's strength must not be lacking either.

"Of course Carrot will win."

Kakuzu pretended not to notice Sasuke's subtle actions and even kindly answered Naruto's question. Kakuzu had already sensed a large entity inside Naruto, and since Naruto was from Konoha, he knew Naruto was the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki. Don't ask how he figured it out; as an old ninja, if he didn't have some special skills, he would have been forgotten long ago. Kakuzu answered out of respect for the future Naruto. After all, as a Jinchūriki, as long as he doesn't die young, he'll definitely have a place among the future strong ninja.

Kakuzu's answer was exactly what Naruto and Sasuke had expected: it wasn't that Kakashi was too weak, but rather that his opponent was a monster.

"Kakashi, how long can you keep using chakra like this?"

Karot noticed that Kakashi was starting to sweat, and that Kakashi's body was beginning to struggle to maintain that level of chakra.

"You don't need to worry about that. I can hold out for a day."

Now, Kakashi's only tough spot is his mouth.

Chapter 124 Call it a day

One force flowed downwards, while another surged upwards. The collision of these two forces exacerbated the already ravaged land.

The ground began to shake, and trees were involuntarily uprooted.

"This is how the same thing?"

The sudden shaking of the ground made Naruto shout out.

Is this the end of the world?

Sakura saw so many tall trees rising into the sky ahead, and cracks appearing in the ground all heading her way. This was completely beyond her imagination.

Sasuke stared intently at the battle between the Hatake brothers. Deep down, Sasuke yearned for that power. He believed that with it, his father would pay more attention to him, and he also wanted Fugaku to focus his attention on him instead of solely on Itachi.

Carrot was somewhat embarrassed to see the destruction caused by the clash of the brothers' powers.

"That's it!"

Karot had already assessed Kakashi's strength and wanted to introduce him.

Carrot slowly bent over, placing his hands together on his waist.

"Kamehameha"

Karot raised his hands upwards. An energy wave shot out from Karot's hands, directly colliding with Kakashi's lightning power.

Kakashi's lightning power was visibly suppressed by Carrot's Kamehameha.

Carrot smiled and added another burst of energy, striking the dark clouds in the sky. With a deafening boom, the clouds were shattered by the Kamehameha, and the light returned.

"what is that?"

When the Kamehameha appeared, Naruto, Sasuke, and the others felt a sense of oppression; their chakra power was suppressed by Karot's power.

"brush."

Seeing that the fighting ahead had stopped, Kakuzu immediately rushed over.

"We'll go there too."

Sasuke and Naruto, not forgetting the unconscious Zabuza, lifted him up and followed Kakuzu. Sakura, seeing her beloved had already set off, and Tazuna, not wanting to stay behind, went with them.

When they arrived at the place where Karot and Kakashi fought, it had become an abyss. When Karot used his ki blast, the ground sank, and water from underground surfaced and filled the ground.

Kakashi was floating in mid-air, his arm around Karot's shoulder. Without Karot, Kakashi would have drowned long ago. When Karot broke Kakashi's attack, Kakashi's body had already reached its limit, and he collapsed limply to the ground.

"This is ridiculous, Kakashi."

Carrot is having a bit of a headache with his younger brother; he's grown up now and can't be hit anymore. Carrot is starting to regret not giving him a good beating when they were kids.

"Kakashi-sensei."

Just as Karot was reminiscing about his childhood, Naruto's loud voice began to shout. It was the first time Naruto had ever seen someone fly. He was incredibly envious. Humanity's yearning for the sky will never change.

Karot and Kakashi descended from the sky. Kakashi was unsteady on his feet as soon as he landed; he had exhausted himself. He had overused his chakra.

"hiss."

Naruto roughly touched Kakashi, who gasped. Kakashi was in pain all over his body; the aftereffects of overusing chakra made him extremely sensitive to physical contact.

"Kakashi-sensei, are you alright?"

Naruto said with concern, looking at Kakashi's expression, which left Naruto at a loss.

"I'm fine, as long as you don't touch me."

Kakashi hadn't expected that overusing chakra would cause such a strong reaction. His body was overworked, and it would take him more than half a month to recover.

"This is what happens when you try to be tough."

Seeing Kakashi's furrowed brows as he suppressed his pain, Carrot gloated. However, as a good older brother, Carrot naturally wouldn't stand by and watch him die.

Karot stretched out his palm towards Kakashi, and the power of his ki enveloped Kakashi. Kakashi felt a gentle force enveloping his entire body, continuously repairing his injuries. This was a method of using ki that Karot had developed, in contrast to the terrifying healing techniques of the Heavenly God Dandan. "It's all ki, so why can you do it but I can't?"

Just as Kakashi was enjoying Karot's treatment, Karot suddenly stopped.

"Huh? Why did you stop?"

Kakashi asked, looking bewildered. "Your injuries were almost healed, why did you suddenly stop? Shouldn't you have finished being a good Samaritan?"

"This is a lesson for you, for overusing your strength. Now your movements are unaffected, only your strength cannot be used."

Karot wanted to see how Kakashi would cope without his powers.

"You... you're ruthless."

Kakashi could guess what Karot was planning with his toes—he just wanted to see him make a fool of himself, right? Well, I'll make sure you don't see it.

The group arrived at a clean spot. Carrot prepared to treat everyone to a good meal.

"Come on, everyone, let's eat! Don't be shy."

Carrot invited everyone to eat. Ever since he acquired Kakuzu, his standard of living had been steadily improving. Furthermore, while the "gods" lacked many other things, the offerings from their followers were plentiful. Carrot had taken all the treasures accumulated over the years, and now he could finally say goodbye.

"I am the richest person in the entire ninja world."

Even if you just laze around all day, you could never use up all the scrolls in several lifetimes. That's why Carrot goes on a shopping spree wherever he goes; Kakuzu alone has hundreds of scrolls on him.

Kakashi showed no reaction when he saw the food Kakuzu took out of the scroll, as this was standard procedure. Naruto and the others, however, were somewhat shocked. Using such an expensive scroll to store food? In short, incredibly extravagant.
