This has caused Kakuzu a lot of trouble. In the past few years, Kakuzu's savings have been completely depleted. If it weren't for the fact that the two of them often "rob the rich to help the poor" against the evil gods, they wouldn't be able to make ends meet. If you want two men who spend money like water to save up any money, you might as well pray to God for a rain of money.

"I am back."

As soon as Carrot disembarked, he stood on the shore, spread his arms wide, and shouted loudly.

Kakuzu, standing next to him, looked at Carrot with disdain.

Why does this place look so desolate?

A port should be bustling with people and thriving in trade, so why isn't there a flow of people here?

"That shouldn't be the case. A few years ago, the Land of Waves was a very prosperous trading nation. I even did a few business deals here."

Kakuzu also looked bewildered; this was completely different from the Land of Waves in his mind.

“Young man, what you’re talking about happened a few years ago. Now the entire country’s economic lifeline is controlled by the big businessman Kado.”

A local from the Land of Waves saw the two discussing the changes in the Land of Waves.

"What are you talking about? Do you want to die?"

His companion tugged at his shoulder, signaling him to be careful, as the walls might be eavesdropping. The two then hurriedly slipped away, without waiting for Carrot and Kakuzu to ask any questions.

"Alright, they're gone."

Carrot looked disappointed.

Where should we go now?

"go home."

"Home? Do I still have a home?"

"Of course I have one, my home is your home."

Carrot put his hand on Kakuzu's shoulder and said. Over the years, Carrot had long considered Kakuzu a friend.

"Then go home."

Kakuzu felt the same way about Carrot. Carrot had suddenly entered Kakuzu's life and taken root in it. He changed Kakuzu's lifestyle and personality, making him no longer solely driven by money and giving him a touch more humanity.

After making some preparations, the two set off on their way to Konoha. As they hurried along, the sounds of fighting came from ahead. They exchanged a glance, then stealthily approached, hiding in the treetops to watch.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be an acquaintance – Kakashi, Karot's younger brother, leading a team on a mission.

"No way!"

Carrot looked at Carrot's team members: a blond boy, a boy with a fan pattern on his clothes, and a pink-haired girl.

"Isn't this just a younger version of Team 7? In this life, Naruto's parents are still alive. With their guidance and being the Nine-Tails' Jinchuriki, his strength is immense. Sasuke, with Itachi and Shisui's training, is definitely stronger than in his previous life. Karot was prepared for both of them to graduate early. But what about Sakura? Did she graduate early too?"

Before Karot could even think further, Zabuza unleashed his ninjutsu.

"The Technique of Shadow Mist".

Then fog began to rise in the forest.

"Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, protect the target."

"Yes." X3

The three of them formed a circle around Tazna to protect him.

"Forehead, neck, chest—where should I start?"

Zabuza's voice echoed through the thick fog, sending shivers down Naruto and his friends' spines. After all, it was their first mission. The Ninja Academy had recently changed its rules, including a pre-graduation internship period where instructors would lead teams on missions to give students a more comprehensive understanding of the ninja profession. Why were Naruto and his friends allowed to leave the village? Simply put, they had powerful connections. They also had the genius ninja Kakashi protecting them, but they hadn't expected to encounter such a stubborn individual.

"Ding."

Zabuza's greatsword and Kakashi's kunai clashed in the pitch-black fog. Their figures shifted constantly, but the clanging of metal never ceased.

However, this was Zabuza's home turf, and Kakashi was slightly at a disadvantage. Zabuza forced Kakashi back with a single strike, and Kakashi slid a distance on the ground.

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique".

Zabuza, being the honest man he was, obediently completed the hand seals, and a water dragon shot straight towards Kakashi's landing spot.

"boom."

Just as the water dragon was about to hit Kakashi, Kakashi, as if he had known beforehand, immediately jumped away, landing on the water's surface. But Zabuza had been waiting for this moment.

"Water Escape Technique, Water Prison Technique."

Kakashi was then enveloped in Zabuza's water prison.

"what?"

"This is impossible."

Naruto and Sasuke couldn't accept that Kakashi had failed like this.

Naruto knew Kakashi very well. As his father's student, Naruto had spent a lot of time with Kakashi and knew just how strong Kakashi was. Dealing with Zabuza should have been a piece of cake for him. But the current situation could only mean one thing: Kakashi wanted to play around and didn't want it to end so quickly. "What a brooding guy," Naruto thought to himself.

Naruto immediately felt a gaze fixed on him. Following the feeling, he saw Kakashi looking at him with a mischievous grin.

Naruto knew he was in trouble. Kakashi's pranks are really brutal; I wonder where he learned those tricks. You really shouldn't talk badly about people behind their backs.

"Kakashi, your students are about to embark on their journey. Do you have anything to say to them?"

Zabuza was now convinced that victory was assured.

"Really? I can't see it."

"Hmph, I'll see how long you can keep up your stubbornness."

"The Water Cloaking Technique".

Zabuza's water clones charged towards Naruto and the others.

Chapter 118 Kakashi's Escape

"It happened."

Naruto and Sasuke looked extremely grim as Zabuza approached with his sword drawn. Their high hopes for Kakashi had been so easily captured.

However, they both had ninja experience passed down from their parents, unlike Sakura, who was just standing there dumbfounded and didn't know what to do.

Sasuke struck first, reaching for his waist and twisting his body in a flash. A dozen shuriken shot out in three directions towards Zabuza. Zabuza blocked them with his Executioner's Blade, but the speed was not diminished at all. Zabuza only blocked the first wave, but the remaining two waves of shuriken continued unabated. The Uchiha clan's shuriken-throwing technique was renowned throughout the ninja world.

Just when Sasuke thought his attack had worked, Zabuza suddenly increased his speed, and the shuriken missed its target.

"The art of multiple shadow clones."

This ninjutsu is perfect for Naruto, whose abundant chakra is inexhaustible, not to mention the Nine-Tails within him. Therefore, Minato passed this ninjutsu on to Naruto early on.

"Go together."

Naruto shouted, and dozens of Narutos charged toward Zabuza, creating a very lively scene.

"Is this really Naruto?"

Sakura was shocked by Naruto's performance. Although Naruto was usually a boisterous character at school, he hadn't used ninjutsu during school sessions, thanks to Minato's instructions. Seeing her comrades fighting while she could only watch helplessly, Sakura felt terrible. She secretly vowed to train hard so that she could use it next time.

"boring."

Zabuza's words were concise and to the point, his hand movements swift and efficient, aiming to eliminate each opponent with a single strike. The sounds of "thump, thump, thump" became the dominant melody on the battlefield, and as Naruto's numbers dwindled, the three began to panic.

"Kakashi, your disciple is about to die, and it's all your fault."

Zabuza spoke to Kakashi inside the water prison.

"Really? I don't think so."

"Hmph, watch closely. When I make my move, I'll make sure they suffer a little less."

As an assassination squad member of the Kage, Zabuza's assassination skills were unparalleled. Killing someone without any pain was effortless for him. However, Kakashi's attitude always cast a shadow over Zabuza's heart.

Zabuza was confident that those three kids couldn't cause any real trouble, and with Kakashi trapped, the scales of victory were completely tipped in his favor. He couldn't find any reason for the defeat. Zabuza immediately dismissed the thought and focused on the task at hand. Even though they were just a group of students who hadn't graduated, Zabuza was prepared for anything.

"Carrot, isn't that your brother? He's got some tricks up his sleeve."

Kakuzu watched as Kakashi was so easily subdued by Zabuza, and knew that Kakashi must have some kind of plan. Kakuzu didn't trust Kakashi, but rather believed that as Karot's younger brother, Kakashi was not someone who could be dealt with so easily.

"They're just some petty tricks."

Karot disapproved of Kakashi's strategy of pretending to be weak to deceive others. He didn't know if it would backfire, and if it did, things would get interesting.

"You two really are brothers."

Kakuzu commented in this way.

"Naruto."

Zabuza finally defeated all the shadow clones, and even Naruto's real body was sent flying by Zabuza. Zabuza wouldn't let this opportunity pass, and just as his Executioner's Blade was about to cut Naruto in two,...

Sasuke shouted, his eyes turned red, and his body moved faster, blocking Zabuza's fatal blow with a kunai in his hand.

"Ding."

"Sasuke."

Naruto looked at his comrade who had shielded him from a fatal blow. Naruto and Sasuke had always disliked each other since they met, their relationship akin to oil and water, yet deep down they considered each other friends. This time, however, Sasuke had immediately awakened his Sharingan for Naruto.

"The Sharingan?"

Zabuza muttered to himself
