Carrot said while clapping.

“Carrot, you bastard, do you know how I got through yesterday? You bastard who abandoned your friends.”

Naruto rushed over and grabbed Karot by the collar, saying, "That bastard left without taking me with him! Are those insects even edible?" Naruto's mouth was now filled with a metallic taste.

"You're perfectly fine now! Don't be so short-tempered."

Knowing he was in the wrong, Karot quickly comforted Naruto, prying Naruto's hands off his collar.

"By the way, why are you the only one cultivating here? Where are Fukasaku and Shima?"

Carrot quickly changed the subject, otherwise he wouldn't be able to stop Naruto from pestering him.

"I don't know either. The two immortals were suddenly summoned away. I can only cultivate on my own now."

Naruto looked like he had been abandoned.

"Ok?"

Fukasaku and Shima don't seem like irresponsible toads. What happened that made them leave in such a hurry without even telling Naruto?

Carrot closed his eyes and began to sense the aura of the two immortals to see what they were busy with.

"Oh, so that's where it is?"

Carrot glanced at Fukasaku and Shima, who were fighting Pain while embedded in Jiraiya's body. He was clearly at a disadvantage; the enemy lacked sportsmanship, using numbers to bully the few. Even in his final moments, Jiraiya was thinking of Naruto.

The sudden turn of events took everyone on the field by surprise.

"Carrot, what are you doing here?"

Jiraiya asked in astonishment. Jiraiya knew that Karot was in Konoha, so how did he suddenly appear here? Even Minato's Flying Thunder God Technique wasn't this fast.

Jiraiya suffered the torment of an undeserved display of arrogance. He even wanted to kill the man in front of him.

The six Pains surrounded Karot and Jiraiya, questioning them. Pain showed no alarm at the sudden appearance of the man, assuming he was simply a Konoha ninja sent to meet Jiraiya. Before his Rinnegan, all living beings were mere ants.

"I was just a passing ninja. I saw you ganging up on me and wanted to stand up for what was right."

Carrot clenched his right hand and crushed the chakra rod in his hand, saying to Pain.

"Do you know that meddling in other people's business can kill you?"

In Payne's eyes, the two men and the two toads were already trapped. He didn't mind wasting a little time laning against them.

“I believe I can get him out of here.”

Carrot pointed at Jiraiya and said to Pain.

The atmosphere on the field was tense at this moment. One against seven, not counting the injured Jiraiya, six Pain and one flying paper doll.

"Then leave your lives behind!"

All six Pain attacked together, using ninjutsu to bombard Karot and Jiraiya. Pain did not believe that the two could remain unharmed under such circumstances, which showed his confidence in his own strength.

"There's still a living person here. If you two want to be all lovey-dovey, you should wait until I leave first."

Carrot interrupted their conversation. He had no desire to get involved in their feud.

"Since Jiraiya has already delivered it, then goodbye."

Tsunade and Jiraiya blushed, a rare occurrence, at Carrot's words. Tsunade held Jiraiya in her arms, though she hesitated to tighten her grip, afraid of hurting him further.

"Silence, arrange surgery immediately."

"Yes, Tsunade-sama."

Tsunade's secretary immediately ran out of the Hokage Building to arrange for the operating room.

"Honestly, I told you not to go. But you insisted on going anyway."

When Tsunade and Jiraiya parted ways, she already had a vague sense of the danger Jiraiya was about to face.

"I didn't expect it either, but thankfully I still made it back."

"Cough, cough."

After Jiraiya finished speaking, he began to cough violently.

"Lady Tsunade, everything is arranged."

"Silently reported."

Tsunade then carried Jiraiya in her arms and headed to the hospital.

The surgery wasn't finished until the early hours of the morning, and Jiraiya was pulled back from the brink of death. However, his injuries were severe, and he needed to rest.

"Jiraiya, I really don't know what to say to you."

After the surgery, Jiraiya recounted all the information he had gathered to Tsunade, including the fact that Pain was his disciple.

"Your disciple now wants to kill you. You've failed as a master. Jiraiya."

"Yes, I am a terrible teacher."

Jiraiya reflected on his life. Minato's most prized disciple, who died young, and the disciple he hailed as the child of destiny, wanted to kill him.

"That child will come looking for us. We need to be prepared."
